So the New BoW video shows the new profiles and it seems that Haramakis and Raidens are gone. Thoughts? Will those profiles be cancelled or exist in some other way? I recognize that the Ryouken Unit 9 takes the place of Raidens, but Haramakis were a really strange link team. Will tankos replace them? Thoughts? :]
The Tanko is in exactly the same place where the Haramaki were, and both Tanko and Haramaki are Japanese armor types. I'm expecting a rework to them .
Considering how Tanko and Haramaki is a type of armor, I am assuming Tankos are going to be replacements for Haramaki. That said, I was always fond of the domaru/haramaki link just because of +1 burst, +3 BS contenders and everything else.
Loads of great Profiles and Link Options. Stuff not showing up in the Pictures mentioned by Bostria: AP HMG Oyoroi Specialist Domaru lots of other new Profiles Honestly the Link Options make everything shown so far very viable. With Neko counting as a Domaru for Fireteam Position as well as a Speialist Domaro and Domaru being available to everyone and their grandmother this looks amazing. The Ryouken isn't exactly a CC Monster but who cares if he can form a Haris with Domaru and has either a 0 SWC Shock Marksman Multirifle or a Red Fury, both with FAT1 and a Panzerfaust. The Kempetai Shock MMR MSV2 is another jaw drop. @barakiel looks like your wish for more Marksmanrifles got through buddy.
Yeah I have to say, I am very positively surprised by what I saw in this video, JSA seems to become quite the awesome faction, and I can't wait to play with all those new options ^^
The Ryuken and Kempeitai are the winners for me. Between Kempeitai, Keisotsu, Kaizoku/Yuriko Oda and Domaru you can probably make some nastily flexible links. Especially the MSV2 Kempei is going to shine in a link with smoke support. The Ryuken-9 Submachine Gun is going to help secure the mid-field greatly, while the HRL is going to feel more or less like the old Raiden (which is good in my book).
Can anyone tell which Kempei is in the starter Set? It would make sense if it was a CoC loadout to go with the Oniwaban LT, but I really can't tell what gun that is supposed to be.
I extremely doubt that, they can form a Fireteam with Musashi who is extremely quick, pairing him with slow as hell medium infantry would cripple him and invalidate the Fireteam most likely...
Taking into account that the Tankos AVA is 3, I presume it's Heavy Infantry with one loadout option able to take a Tinbot. That'll give a nice 3 miniatures box + Tinbot, like Riot Grrls for example.
The aragoto character, Asuka Kisaragi, seems to have gone as well. I only see aragoto as a generell troop type. The new biker seems to have taken her space, and she, as Kisaragi, has a lieutenant option. I ahve not used Kisaragi a lot, but the assault psitol in the profile as well as the light flamer was nice
Some people seem to love the BSG for its +6 in close range, but I agree, I think I'll mostly be roling the new cheaper profile as well.
The template can come in pretty handy as well when invading the enemy DZ. I think it does have its place.
played a couple of games today with the new profiles, Ryuken SMG is rediculously good, the daiyokai is a pretty great piece too. Overall things felt a bit more flexible than they did in Yujing.
Yes, but the Oniwaban already has a nanopulser, so the template is not as definitive... The point is, Sup Fire with -12 in the midfield (or inside the enemy's half of the table! You still roll at 15!) either AP or Shock, plus melee beast... and the SMG Ryuken (Adquisition: starts in the middle of the table!)... The annoyance factor can be incredible, and those are defensive troops with multiple purposes, add a Kempeitai CoC inside a Fireteam (with a MSV2 Kempeitai aswell) and a Kuroshi Lt, and you can do wonders when it comes to order economy.
