Hi WC enthusiasts! @Willen and I played a couple of turns of Firefight to test stuff out (mainly new N4 mechacnics and profiles) for Corregidor (Willen) and White Company (Joametz).

    The lists:
    upload_2020-10-31_17-22-43.png
    upload_2020-10-31_17-24-3.png

What I wanted to try for WC:
    1. Karhu Feuerbach
    2. Danavas WN support + Varangian Smoker support for the Core Fireteam
    3. Peacemaker Alpha Strike
Willen won the Lt. roll because Orc are naturally dumb (?), he took the best side of the table and made me deploy first, so I decided to take first turn. I deployed kinda defensively which was a mistake (first of many) and didn't take into account the possible sniper nests on the other side of the table.

Link team was in full cover ready to peek out and shoot stuff, REMs where spread to provide White Noise coverage and Varangians stood there varangianly waiting to fart their smoke. Karhu deployed as far away from the linkteam as possible and the Guilangs stood close to panoplies as they do. The Peacemaker was my reserve model.

Willen deployed his link team with the Wildcat HRL watching over a side of the table, Moran guarding a couple of panoplies and several bots AROing with their Flash Pulses.

I placed the Peacemaker in front of the link team, ready to suicide for the Company! My opponent countered with a Camo marker in front of it (Bandit).

My classifieds where ALL related to Engineers or D-Charges so I couldn't do either. That was cool.

I shot the Wildcat HRL with the Haidao MSR... Which was a mistake, even though I took it out in a couple of orders. The reason I did it was so the Peacemaker could advance without eating a HRL template to the face, but a better, safer way to achieve that would've been to use it's repeater to place a White Noise cloud in front of the Wildcat (MSV1). It was exactly the scenario I wanted to try out and I failed to see it. #Sad. In addition, I should've probably taken the shot with the Orc instead.

Anyway, the Peacemaker advenced and planted a HFT on Jazz and two HSG shots on the Tsyklon. Jazz went null, Peacemaker went boom, Tsyklon went good. Another mistake: don't take the FtF roll. The Peacemaker is supposed to trade up, just put the two DTW and call it a day. #SadderButLessonLearned.

After that I saw a line of attack for the Karhu to take out a Lt. + DataTracker (another Wildcat in the link) and took it. I advanced with the Lt. Order, then used a Regular Order to climb-plus on top of a box, draw LoF to the Wildcat and put 3 Feuerbach shots on it. Here I made another mistake: I failed to see a LoF to the Tsyklon and got exploded for it. The Wildcat died, but I think I had enough orders to take the Tsyklon out first and then move on to the Lt. Anyway, nice Karhu.

Rest of my turn consisted of shooting a Bandit with a Guilang and taking out a couple of Zonds with the Haidao and a Varangian's Chain Rifle.

The Nomads were in Loss of Lieutenant, and their turn consisted in the Moran dropping Koalas, a Doctor failling to bring Jazz back to life (one of many bad rolls Willen had during this match) and a Wildcat teaming up with a Mine to take down a Guilang... And losing. Again: dice where not kind to my opponent.

One of my Varangians used several orders to explode Koalas and kill the Moran so that my Guilangs could touch buttons and pick up weapons. After that they went back into camo state and just chilled there.

Willen's turn involved a Tomcat, a Wildcat and Carlota dropping on the table to take shots at the Orc and, of course, getting killed due to really bad rolls.

    • Karhu was good. He died because I was a dum-dum, but he got the angle that no one else could and the B3 Feuer hit truly. He moves really fast and the NCO helps a lot IMO. Will be taking it again, although I'll also try the Clipper in his spot.
    • Danavas... I didn't really try her out because I forgot about her. Sorry. There was a really cool play to make with her but I didn't see it.
    • Peacemaker is a beast. Just use it to trade up, don't risk the FtF roll unless it's a really good percentage play. It also has a Repeater, remember that.
    • Varangians are amazing. Not much to say.
    • Both lists had really obvious Lt. (technically, one of my Fusiliers could've been the Lt., but if you add the SWC costs, the only possible option is the discounted Orc HMG.)

Thank you for reading, I'll bring you the rematch when we can have one! It's always a pleassure to play with
@Willen honestly. Looking forward to test even more of White Company, had a lot of fun this game.

Next time I'll probably go for the Clipper, Taowu and Shona. Or maybe a really defensive list with four Minelayers? IDK, so many toys to play with!

There was a recent game of Acquisition against a Bahram player. Having tried the newly returned Qapu Khalqi already, I decided to give a try to some of WhiteCo's less popular units.

A surprisingly SWC-light list. Both Shujae and Farzans for pushing and controlling the antennae while the Muyib link is used for both ARO and active-turn shooting. Yara would bring the link up an additional 4" thanks to Strategic Deployment and that's especially relevant for the 16" Acquisition DZ. The list even has a Fiday for Lt. assassinations or link team disruptions, so I'd say it's pretty balanced. The lack of additional SWC-heavy guns can be rectified by slotting in a TR-bot, but that's a whole different story.

Didn't think I would like this list as much as I had. Kaplans remain one of the most valuable units for the purposes of WhiteCo fireteams. They are a glue holding together cheap and competent fireteam fillers (CSUs) with tough two-wound utility units (Jujaks) and deadly CC monsters (Liang Kai and Shona) and that's excluding free wildcards like Haidao, Valerya, and John. Add to that the fact that a Kaplan Spitfire is by itself a decent active-turn killer and you got yourself a link that can be composed for any situation and any mission. InfoWar? Jujak TinBot and Haidao KHD got you covered. Need an ARO brick wall? Haidao MSR is already a great unit when inside a link but you also get an alternative with the Jujak ML. And if you can afford to spend more SWC – why not both? The absence of a TinBot Jujak kinda makes Valerya vulnerable to KHDs, and I do indeed have a reason to worry about that with this Barid Killer Hacker in a link. However, Nokken KHD should be a decent deterrent against Barid trying to pull off infowar shenanigans. Guilang Minelayer because you can choose to lay either a mine or a repeater depending on whether or not you're facing a TAG or a camo-heavy army. I was torn on a Nokken because a stealth-less specialist with no camo honestly does not seem that reliable, but he's a good gunfighter and is invaluable on Acquisition.

The opponent wins the initiative and elects to go first. I decide to deploy second.

The right flank with Strategic Deployment is occupied by Yara's link with both the HRL and the Spitfire Muyib. A couple of Shujaes occupying the Tech Coffin and the Antenna on the right. One Farzan occupies the rooftop in the center, the other two spread around both flanks each inside a building.

I deploy the Haidao+Jujak+Kaplan link on the right flank with one CSU outside of the link to refill the inevitable casualties. Haidao already sees the Muyib HRL from his position while Jujak would be able to pin down Yara who would have to eat a Missile if she stands up and pokes her head above the crate she deployed behind. The unlinked guy also guards the real Fusilier Lt. He got Super-Jump on MetaChemistry while the linked CSU got PH+3.

Nokken is deployed on the left flank on the rooftop so that if the opponent decides to kill him he would have to go on top and eat AROs from the link and from the TR bot. The left Antenna is occupied by Guilang's mine, the Guilang himself deploys on the edge of his Minelayer ZoC and overwatches the other side of the barricade through which the Shujae could crawl. On top of the central building, not far from the TR bot, a Fusilier Lt decoy is placed.

Another "Fusilier" (Taowu) is placed on the left flank of the DZ inside a building. Between him and a potential assassin is the Nokken, the Varangian, and a reserved Peacemaker. The opponent takes the bait and deploys a Fiday inside Nokken's building while I deploy the Peacemaker with the AuxBot seeing the IMP marker through the doorway. Fiday would have to enter CC with the Auxbot to go through that door.

(in lore, my WhiteCo cannibalized the Total Reaction Kameel that already had a slot for shotgun weaponry by removing the Total-Reaction hardware for added mobility and replaced it with the synchronization interface; the Nasmat met a similar fate and became the flamethrower AuxBot)

I remove two orders from the opponent's first group and the battle begins.

    Hassassin Bahram

The IMP marker moves outside through the unoccupied doorway while the Peacemaker and his AuxBot try to discover the Fiday but fail to do so. He goes around the left corner of the building and meets with Varangian who tries Discovering him while the remotes delay. Fiday keeps going and drops down to IMP-2. The Fiday moves inside the building occupied by the "Fusilier" who delays his AROs while the Fiday moves into his back-arc.

He hesitates whether to shoot him or to kill him in CC and decides to go into CC. A nasty surprise awaits him.

While he does have Surprise Attack modifiers Fiday can say goodbye to his Martial Arts and so we face-off, Fiday preferring to whack Taowu in CC instead of putting both shotgun templates onto him. 17 against 18, Taowu wins with his Viral Pistol, but Fiday tanks all the saves. He gives it another go, this time winning against Taowu's 21, but the schemer tanks both ARM saves this time. While they're at it, Valerya manages to Spotlight the Fiday through Peacemaker's repeater, just in case.

Meanwhile, the link team tries making a dent in the Core Link's defenses, first with the Muyib HRL (who drops unconscious from Haidao's DA rounds but then gets revived by Ghulam Doc) and then with the Muyib Spitfire (who wins the face-to-face roll against Jujak ML but the guy tanks all the ARM saves).

A camo marker on the central rooftop stands up and tries discovering the Guilang. The camo marker is the Fiday FO and he fails to discover him. Then the Shujae on the left moves into the Guilang's LoF and discovers him. Shujae then unloads his SMG into Guilang and eats the BSG template. They both die. Farzan FO then shoots down the TR bot, moves into LoF of the AuxBot who dodges behind the corner of the building. The Farzan drops into SF.

    White Company

Varangian dashes towards the Fiday and with his second short skill moves into Silhouette Contact with him. I then activate Taowu who unloads three dice in CC into Fiday, melting him with viral rounds. Peacemaker's AuxBot goes around the corner and prepares to rush the suppressing Fiday. It then goes for it and manages to clip him with the HFT. The Fiday burns while the AuxBot drops into Unconscious.

Nokken climbs down the ladder and activates the left antenna. He then grabs the Auxbot and goes up on the rooftop in a coordinated order with the Varangian, Taowu, and a flash pulse bot. The Varangian goes behind the corner of the forward building in preparations to rip the camo marker on the left flank to shreds on the next turn. Taowu hugs the opposite corner to overwatch the enemy link team with his Flash Pulse. The Fanous does the same.

Meanwhile, the Peacemaker goes to town and goes around the central building where the burnt Farzan lies. The armbot then spots the lone backward-looking Ghulam and slots him with the shotgun's hit mode.

He then moves into Shujae's frontal arc, he dodges, the remote tries shooting him with Heavy Shotgun's hit mode but misses. Peacemaker then snakes between the walls and splits his burst, clipping the Shujae, the Muyib Spitfire, and Yara with direct templates. Two of them dodge, Muyib does not, but he tanks the ARM save. This ends my turn.

    Hassassin Bahram

Shujae stealthily moves in Peacemaker's back-arc and then unloads his SMG into his back while Valerya spotlights him as well. Muyib Spitfire tries shooting the Jujak in ML's zero range bands, but the Korean HI gets lucky and crits him off the table. The Muyib HRL then tries shooting the Haidao without 5-man bonuses but gets perforated with bullets as well. The Ghulam Doctor drops down from the rooftop and heals the regular Ghulam that was shot in the back by Peacemaker. They then fortify their positions as best they can with Shujae retreating back a bit and going into SF.

A Farzan FO moves out from the right building and activates the right antenna. He then hugs a small building while being Prone. He tried killing Taowu but got flash-pulsed instead. Yara then uses her Lt. order to coup de grace the Peacemaker and complete the Extreme Prejudice Classified. The rest of the soldiers reform a four-man link with Yara, Barid, Ghulam Doc, and a regular Ghulam who got revived.

    White Company

Varangian dashes towards the camo marker in the left building on his Impetuous order, he then moves in coordination with Taowu and Fanous twice. The Varangian gets inside the building and tries discovering the camo marker. The marker puts the BSG template with shock: Farzan CoC. The Varangian unloads from his SMG, both are blasted straight into Dead. Taowu hugs the antenna to control it. The Core Link moves out with Jujak as the link leader. He sees the back of the Ghulam standing up and launches two missiles into his back-arc. Against all odds, the Ghulam sneaks in a hit and a wound from long-range. Jujak no longer attempts to shoot him and instead replaces the Haidao with the unlinked CSU and they move out. They move a couple of times in Farzan's ZoC who manages to dodge a couple of times.

Kaplan Spitfire got point and unloaded her Spitfire into Yara who drops into Unconscious. She then aims at Barid and saturates him with bullets. At that moment, Farzan FO dodges in front of her, Jujak, and a CSU, having all of them lined up for a shotgun blast.

I have to rectify this and consider my options. Only the Nokken can do the job.

He stands up and starts spraying Farzan from long range and on the second order, he succeeds with a crit on a 3. Farzan drops into the Unconscious. Nokken then goes into SF from the rooftop, overwatching Taowu with the left antenna and, partially, the right flank.

With that out of the way, I move my Kaplan Spitfire behind the corner while moving Jujak forward to burn anything that gets too close to his LFT.

    Hassassin Bahram

Ghulam Doc runs towards Yara and attempts to revive her while getting blasted with Jujak's ML. The Doctor is torn to pieces while Yara gets revived and tanks all three saves from the template. Shujae then crawls around the Tech Coffin and plants an E/M mine in Jujak's back-arc while staying out of LoF of the Kaplan. Shujae then stands up and has a shootout with the Kaplan where no-one dies, but Jujak, being a part of the activated link, eats the E/M mine and gets bricked and isolated. Shujae gives it another go and tries shooting the Kaplan again, but this time he's unlucky, and the Spitfire headshots him thanks to Valerya's Spotlight bonuses. While he was doing that, Jujak managed a Reset on a 1 which canceled both his Isolated state and IMM-B state. Yara who got back up tries to have a shootout with the Kaplan and finally gets her, dropping her into Unconscious. Jujak's ARO with the ML (LFT was just barely out of reach) misses her.

    White Company

I try moving out the unlinked Jujak and burning Yara with LFT who heavy-pistols him into Unconscious and tanks the LFT save. I then activate my unlinked Haidao who is still on the rooftop (should've done that before activating the Jujak), Yara tries dodging, but the sniper shot finally connects and puts her down for good.

The rest is history: I move out Valerya to the right antenna and reclaim her. I then move out the flash bot to control the tech coffin, and I move my Nokken with the AuxBot's chassis out of the DZ to score the Rescue Classified Objective.

    10-1 White Company Victory.

    – Kaplan links are so flexible in here. Playing the same unit in QK feels downright wrong with how limited their link options in there are. A layered ARO defense of Haidao and Jujak is definitely welcome here, making it a rock-solid defensive link. Good thing Jujak ML and Haida MSR cost exactly the same. Jujak is also a handy guy to bring along in the midfield, even the ML option is viable here tanks to LFT, so he definitely has his uses outside of being an ARO brick.

    – If you can pick off your targets from a safe distance – do it. Jujak did get unlucky against Yara, but the Haidao had higher chances to drop her without risking his skin. Jujak didn't have to be sacrificed like that.

    – If possible – try bringing an engineer along with the TR bot. Doing that in Dahshat is as easy as breathing, the list composition welcomes the presence of a Dozer or a Najjarun whereas in WhiteCo things are a bit more complicated. A Mech-Engineer costs the same as Najjarun with a lower WIP, and the Kaplan Engineer is incredibly pricy. Yes, you can have the Kaplan Engineer be a part of the link, but this would mean that he'd most likely have to be on the other side of the DZ. You can try repairing TR bots with GizmoKit but that seems like a waste of his great WIP.

    – This was the first time Taowu actually managed to do his job: being an assassin bait. I got incredibly lucky the Fiday did not blast him in the back and instead opted for a CC attack. I doubt I'll ever see that in a game. Still, having three Fusiliers with only one proper Lt will have your opponent guessing, although the guy closest to the TR bot and a link team is most likely the real Lt.

    – This was also the first time when the Peacemaker actually managed to pay off. He is very terrain-dependant but his fast movement along with shitloads of a template weapon and an AuxBot make him a great alpha-strike unit. Couple him with Danavas' White Noise and the abundance of various MSV-heavy ARO links and suddenly even a Kamau isn't safe given the right approach.

I had a great game of Acquisition (another one?!) against an IA player. I wanted to try out a more HMG-heavy list so I decided to use it which panned out relatively well for me.

A good old classic IA list, maybe without some fancy toys like Hac Tao or Liu Xing, but still a solid roster. Nice arrangement of specialists, and hey, a Zhencha – that's a rare sight for me considering I played against IA most of the time.

HMGs on Nisse and Orc, cheap and nasty Core with Haidao, a Doctor with Yaozao, two high-WIP hackers empowered by Repeater Minelayer Guilang. Looks plenty anti-HI to me. The only AP weapons here are the Jujak Panzerfaust and Haidao MSR. Pretty thin on specialists which will bite me in the ass on this game.

I fail the Lt. roll and the opponent decides to go first while I deploy second in the DZ with a sniper tower on it.

An enemy Haidao deployed on a rooftop with a Zuyong TinBot TacAware. A bit to the right is the Shang Ji with a Zuyong Paramedic and a Son-Bae Yaokong, making a 5-man Core. Mowang is deployed with a Zhanshi Paramedic a bit to the left. The left flank is also occupied by a camo marker while the other camo marker is placed on the rooftop of the right flank, so there could be two Daoyings considering they both have deployed within the 16" DZ. One model is reserved.

I deploy my Core plus a Yisheng on the right flank sniper roof. Then there is also an Orc+Jujak+Valerya Haris.

A Danavas is lying prone on the rooftop. There is also a Nisse in the middle of the DZ on the very edge, covered by a Varangian. Inside a building next to a Tech Coffin, there is a Peacemaker with an AuxBot Prone on top of a bridge in the dead center of the field, overwatching the Haidao. If the sniper pokes his head out – AuxBot will fry him.

The opponent deploys a Lu Duan while I counter-deploy a Guilang Minelyaer in the middle-right flank of the table with a Repeater placed as far as possible, hoping to cover up the Shang Ji if he decides to head out. It might also clip a Lu Duan.

    Invincible Army
Lu Duan moves out and then immediately tries shooting the Haidao while being out of cover. My sniper perforates him with precise shots.

Then, Shang Ji moves out from the corner of the building and tries shooting the Haidao, his own sniper on the rooftop attempting to crawl around the rooftop trying to keep the coherency. Haidao receives an AP wound and goes NWI, then he lies down Prone, daring the enemy Core to move closer towards the Repeater range. A Zhencha climbs down from the rooftop on the left (I don't know that's Zhencha yet though) a little bit towards the antenna. Then, a Mowang moves out and aims his Spitfire at the BSG+PF Jujak. The Korean heavy infantry scores a lucky hit with his disposable gun, but Mowang tanks all three saves in cover. The Mowang then crawls a bit closer and tries his luck against Jujak again, but JJ once again survives by dodging into Prone.

The Mowang then stays where he is. The Daoying pokes her head out and then destroys Guilang's Repater with her AP slugs. She then drops down and re-camoes. The Zuyong TinBot stands up and unloads into the AuxBot successfully while tanking the Flamethrower save. With him out of the way, the Core can go towards the right antenna and activate it with the Paramedic which is exactly what they do. The Paramedic and Shang Ji then sit on the antenna while Haidao, Son-Bae, and TinBot overwatch on the rooftop.

    White Company

Noone's dead so that's good. I need to remove so many ARO threats that it's kinda scary to think about. The Varangian does not rush in Impetuously but instead spends his Regular Order to drop some Smoke under Nisse. I then activate the Guilang and move right towards the enemy link. They delay, Zhencha on the other end of the table sees the Guilang and uncovers himself trying to discover the skirmishers which he does while Guilang goes right up the Core Link's nose. He then sacrifices himself by planting a Repeater while getting blown to pieces by enemy fire.

Then, the savagery begins. Danavas cracks his knuckles and performs his InfoWar masterpiece. Three orders later, Shang Ji and TinBot Zuyong are Isolated and thus have their TinBots disabled while also getting kicked out of the link, and the enemy Haidao gets Immobilized for what's to come. Nisse stands up and bursts down the enemy Haidao through the Smoke, then does the same to the Son-Bae, then tries to remove the Shang Ji but the HI tanks the armor saves and then hides behind the Antenna. The Nisse then hangs on the ladder and unloads into the Mowang through the second Smokescreen that Varangian had set up, chipping off one wound and forcing the big guy into total cover. She ends her movement standing on top of the roof she started at initially and then spends second to last order riddling the Son-Bae with bullets. The Yisheng crawls towards the Haidao, heals him up with one CT reroll, and then I spend my last order in Group One moving the Haidao out towards the exposed Shang Ji, also having a long-range shot at the Zhencha out in the open.

Shang Ji fails the FtF but tanks the saves once again, while Zhencha does not manage to dodge in time and receives a DA shot in his center mass that bursts through his NWI and removes him off the table. The two other Zuyongs, Paramedic and TinBot, try to shoot the Haidao in ARO and one of them manages to do sneak in a wound, dropping my sniper into NWI once again.

I need to get the Mowang pinned down while I can, so I decide to drop down my Jujak from the rooftop, risking to eat a Flammenspeer shot, but that's a risk I am willing to take. Valerya is the link leader and she moves in place while Jujak climbs down from the roof and receives a free Flammenspeer shot that also clips a Yaozao nearby. The HMG Orc climbs on top of the ladder without landing on the rooftop, waiting for the following order when he'll be able to unload into Mowang. With her second skill, Valerya throws Carbonite into Shang Ji through the Repeater and successfully Immobilizes him.

Miraculously, both Yaozao and Jujak tank the Flammenspeer shot, but the two long-ranged Zuyong Combi Rifles prove to be deadler weapons, and they drop Jujak into Unconscious.

With the last order in Group 2, Orc moves to the rooftop and cracks Mowang's armor with saturated HMG fire, kicking him into NWI.

    Then, we stand our ground.
    Incincible Army

A lot of stuff is dead, a lot of stuff is isolated, so they need to do something about this. A Zuyong Paramedic moves out of the link and tries to have a face-to-face with Haidao. He receives a DA shot and one wound, but he manages to reach total cover behind a crate. A Zuyong TinBot tries to split his burst between Nisse and Haidao but gets caught in the crossfire and goes straight into Dead. Shang Ji spends both his orders trying to Reset on -12 without success. Mowang steadily advances and then, two orders later, removes the Orc from the table fair and square.

He then hugs the antenna. A Zhanshi Paramedic moves in and pushes the button of the Antenna on the left. So far, the IA is winning.

    White Company

I need to get my Antennas back and for that I need to move out my hackers. The Mowang is in an awkward position, and I doubt that my HMG Nisse will drop him with one burst, so I need to come up with something. The Varangian smokes up the corridor between the Nisse and the Mowang with Zhanshi while going inside the building. I perform a Coordinated Order moving my Baggage bot towards a container hoping to touch the Mowang with his Repeater while including Danavas and Valerya in it. Unfortunately, the Repeater range is not enough, so the CT and the order is wasted on nothing.

Then I just hang on the ladder with the Nisse while trying to shoot the Shang Ji who fails to Reset once again but tanks all the armor saves. The Nisse then spends an order unloading into Zhanshi Paramedic, dropping her into Dead. She then crosses the rooftop and closes in on the Shang Ji and the Zuyong. The Mowang sees her (did not expect that) through a small gap and tries stopping her, but the Nisse finally melts him down into Dead with her concentrated firepower. She then crosses the midfield and flanks the Zuyong Paramedic, shooting him into Dead. With her last order, the Nisse drops in Suppression Fire.

Back in group two, the Varangian smokes up the Tech Coffin and sits on it, hoping to score the Objective Points. Valerya legs it towards the left antenna that got vacated and successfully reclaims it for WhiteCo while also controlling it. Should have moved out my Peacemaker to cover the Varangian.
    Invincible Army

The Terracota Army is in Retreat so the game ends after their turn. And then, the amazing thing happens.

The Daoying starts rolling on the rooftop with her first Lt. order. Haidao tries discovering her, no luck, the Nisse delays without anything happening. Second Lt. order: Daoying gets into the back arc of the Nisse, and she is also seen by the Varangian and Valerya. The Varangian tries discovering her and that's where I made a grave mistake. I should have thrown smoke under his feet instead. Regardless, the Daoying keeps moving and is then discovered successfully. Last order: the Daoying cocks her shotgun and delivers one slug into Nisse's back and into the Varangian. None of them dodge, both of them die. And then the Haidao blows her head off in payback.

With that, we both activated and controlled one Antenna, we both made the Secure HVT Classified (Valerya and Shang Ji respectively), and none of us is controlling the Tech Coffin.

So it is a Tie of 4-4
    – Think about the objectives first and do not rush in to discover targets. If you can keep your objective holder safe – do exactly that.
    – Use the Peacemaker more often. That remote has been a great deterrent against the enemy Haidao, but after that I literally never used him. I could have traded him with a Shang Ji or, on Turn 2, I could have easily rolled him out and slug the IMM'd Shang Ji in the face. That would've probably killed him.
    – Next time, I'll try bringing in a list that at least remotely resembles the fact that it was made for the mission. The opponent managed to bring in a more tightly composed list in terms of specialists.
    – I should use the Nisse more often, she is the absolute beast when paired with a Varangian. Reminds me of the good old days with Djanbazan HMG and a Yuan Yuan.

    Hi everyone!

Last weekend I played two games with the new WhiteCo, using the same list, the mission were: and power pack. I played the first one against Qapu khalki and the second one against Kosmoflot, the list was:

    1.png

    g40Nd2hpdGUtY29tcGFueRFOZXcgS2FyaHUgJiBOaXNzZYEsAgEJAAEBCgAAhN4BBQAAAQEBAACB0AEBAAABAQkAAICGAQQAAAMBAgAAhbUBBgAAhiIBAwACBQCFzQEDAACFzQEEAACGIgEBAACAhgEFAAAkAQEA

In both missions I managed to win with scores of 5-1 against Kapu and 8-1 against Kosmoflot. Beyond describe what happened in each game, I would like to point out the strengths and weakness that I found playing these lists

    1. Beasthunters. I reaffirm that having AVA2 of these profiles is an excellent addition. It is true that they are irregular but they give WhiteCo a lot, as fillers of a link in the case of the haris and as a mid-table “decoy” to hide my precious Guilang. They are also excellent for making those trades that are so necessary to try to control center of the table. Their mines and template weapons are the classic additive needed to have competitive lists in my opinion, they also bring cheap CC fighters, an in particularly for power pack I protect my console with AP mines and one of these guys, and it works very well. I'm thinking to change the camo Beasthunter for the cheaper one and add a fugazzi for more orders.

    2. Haris with Karhu feuerbach. It was what I thought WhiteCo was missing before the change of fireteams. Again, the addition of a 9 pt minelayer beasthunter in the haris is a huge discount and an extra of protection. However, in both games the haris felt a bit fragile and although it worked well, destroying important enemy units or at least working as a good deterrent, in power pack I loose very soon the Karhu feuerbach.

    3. Nisse HMG + Varangian Guard. I understand that not many of you like an unlinked HMG in a troop with one wound, especially to deal with high armored troops, as well as not relying so much on the smoke + visor combo, but the truth is that it worked very well for me. I managed to destroy a TAG, a linked Volkolak, an Azarail, etc.. In both games it did more damage than the Karhu Feuerbach, it could have been luck but the high burst of the HMG added to the mods that it imposes (up to -12) make that the HIs or Tags must roll many dice, and finally you always end up watching 1s or 5s in saves rolls, so its possible to cause damage. Also against profiles with total immunity is very good. I think something cool could be pairing with some specialist in a duo, to maximize his movements.

    4. Core link. My core didn't participate as much in both games, the tables was very dense, but in the first one against Qapu, my Haidao was wiped off the table by an Azrail in 2 orders, I'm still having a hard time changing my core configuration because I can't imagine any other way to build it, and in general I need to study other options to defend in reactive turn. But In general, it fulfilled its objective (giving orders and controlling areas) without shining as before.

    5. Guilang!. They are some of the most valuable troops for my army, they do many useful things for many different missions as specialists, with his repeaters, mines and shotguns. As Pano player is difficult to say, but I think this troops are the stars of my lists hahaha!.

    6. Pacemakers. These guys are great in theory, the shotgun version is interesting for controlling antennas or flanking, also are useful for trade (the auxbot) and for extend the hacking zones… all very good, but I haven’t been able to get the best of this unit. The larger base of the remote prevents me from hiding it well many times, and it ends up being hunted by some shooter that leaves the poor pacemaker out of range, however as first turn deterrent its works well, but it is my first o second troop to die very often. I think that It may be my problem and I want to keep trying to use it in combination with 2 Guilang and a Beasthunter in the middle of the table.

In general, as you can see, I opted for lists with a lot of camos, mimetism, visor, smoke and some hacking. In other versions of this list I change the Nisse, the Varangian and Valeria for a Danavas + bulleteer and an evo (plus other minor changes), thuse change allows me to play with white noise and have more hacking presence, but both ways are very similar to play and have been effective for me.

Finally I find it difficult to incorporate a HIs and Hawkwood principally for his costs/efficiency, and also Tiger Soldiers, although I know they are great I don't trust them because I don’t like these possibility to fail in landing and I always ending picking Karhu or Guilangs. I’ll give them an opportunity in nexts games.

What do you think? How are you guys playing WhiteCo?
