Caledonia was redone after USARF. They have a new starter and several new units. USARF is the most likely to get retired. They've effectively been done for some time.
Caledonia will be cut out. We have some of our troops in Kosmo so we can play them. But mother sectorial will be shelved 100%. And in the Interplanetary stream, Bostria said that Galwegians are discontinued (which aren't, but maybe he was thinking in the near future)
And I just found out (from interplanetario on twitch at 1:13h) that other one will be Steel Phalanx.... Now, I just have to start saving and understand when they will get OOP
Did they actually say Caledonia will be cut or is it just "Galwegians are discontinued"? Not picking on you specifically, just not interested in sitting through a Twitch stream to find out one minute detail at the moment. Because it's possible Galwegians get discontinued, period, without the faction going away. 100% believable. Steel Phalanx's starter is around the same age as CJC's. A Nomad v ALEPH CodeOne pack would be entirely appropriate as well.
Reminder: Special live on the Betrayal manga, with his illustrator AG Nakamura, wait time ~2h30, don't forget, come all, the more we are, better it's :p Come on see, Share, Like the live ^^
The next pack will be Coreggidor Vs Kosmoflot, Cold Space. (And getting Nomads and Ariadna in Code One)
Whilst I understand that this is just one of many opinions and comments, it makes me sad to think that USARF could be so 'easily' done for if they are truly on the chopping block. Regardless of which sectorial ends up in a pickle, what do people think will happen to the available models in collections that we have - merger into vanilla or NA2? I really like my USARF collection, whilst they remain the only models I've actually gamed with (and not in some time!), it would be sad to see them null and void and now has me pausing at the shopping cart scared I could be buying into unusable models.
The sectorial will remain playable, even if the models are removed from production. Much like FRRM, Tohaa, etc are still playable. N4 is having the currently OOP sectorials added after launch, but before end of year, so worst case scenario you'll need to wait 3 months.
Thank you for the fast come back ! That's quite positive to read, a much better scenario than what I might have thought :) I did wonder how FRRM is still ticking :) I do hope they will all get all the support they deserve to be playable and balanced. I was thinking to switch to TAK as I have a few of the models to cross over in Vanilla, but the often used models needed as additional purchases would be too costly to make the transition.
So we're clear, standard caveats apply: 'Playable' does not mean 'supported with model releases'. We'll probably get a 'later noobs!' model release of something that players really like but didn't have access to, that will also show up in other Sectorials down the road. Isn't Unknown Ranger in Kosmoflot, come to think of it? YEP. Remember that they just gave him a new profile not long ago too. That would be so ridiculously off-kilter if true. The two factions are tied so closely together that it would be like a NCA vs OSS box.
Kosmoflot were formed at the behest of O-12, I can absolutely see them coming into conflict with Nomads/Corregidor, especially if the boys in red are up to no good at an O-12/Aleph facility or they're suspected of Shasvastii infiltration.
Oh, and "the boys in red" are always up to no good at an Aleph/O12 facility ... As far as I'm concerned I wouldn't mind Nomads capturing some of the more usable Kosmoflot-Tech as compensation for trying to capture our space station, leaving Ariadna with the old Soyuz-Modules they patched up and hurled into space, calling it a space fleet. Remember La Forja.
