So lets talk about the Tiger Soldiers little brother, Meows , sorry, Ye Mao. Right away i saw them as the Non-combat jump Tiger Soldier some wanted. He looses the BS13 down to 12 but gains BTS of 6. Then also to compensate for the BS he gets MSV1 on all of them. They all have multi-terrain, where the Tiger needs to chose combat jump OR multi-terrain. Not much of a choice i think. Weapon-wise I think a almost pretty strait trade off of combi+LFT to Multi-Rifle+Chain colt. but then also gains a Panzerafaust (basic profiles). CC weapons are pretty much strait off but they get a CCW instead of Knife. The AP sptfire i think is a pretty good trade off for not starting off in optimal range. For long distance It kind of depends, but I like super jumping missile launchers. Unfortunately I've always been on the bad end of them. For specialists I think the Ye Mao is great. Especially the BTS6 KHD. Also, he can really be put to advantage in a Haris wtih Shang Ji tinbot. (see below). I think the Engineer is a pretty good option too. But the FO can be good for some missions. There's only 4 troops with FO in White Banner. Just to show in comparison to the Tigers why I think they may have started off as being like them. Like i mentioned above, the Shang Ji Tinbot can really give the KHD or even the regular HD a good advantage. I've been playing around with them too, but I always felt the Haris is very expensive. That KHD Haris is interesting, but it has no SSL2 to counter Stealth. And I don't think its worth paying ~1/3 of your army for three orders and that one hacking trick. It might be worth in a single game of Transmission Matrix, but there I'd rather play that 4x Zhanshi hacker link. I'll try out the missile launcher, but I'm not yet decided on who should be the 3rd member next to the obvious Tian Gou. So far, I used the Engineer as a semi-attack and repair guy. I want to try him with coordinated orders to Panzerfaust stuff with the new Long Ya: Coordinate that Panzerfaust ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 3 YĚ MĀO Engineer MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust, D-Charges / Pistol, CC Weapon. Yeah, it's worth noting that there are a few profiles that Tian Gou can't pretend they are; anything with a Tinbot, anything not S2, Lei Gong (Albedo is a state), and Yisheng/Gong-Cheng* * Without a Yaozao a lone support troop will look suspicious, which of course means you can probably anti-hide a Yisheng as a Tian Gou.
Well that's a little stupid since it is not Deployable equipment. There's still plenty of other things he can look like with them. I'm less enthused by the Shang Ji Haris. At least the SJ Haris trooper is pretty good but the choices to be with him are meh. ────────────────────────────────────────────────── Hard Hitters SHÀNG JÍ (Fireteam: Haris, Tactical Awareness) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower + TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Shock CCW. Wait what? How the hell do you even deploy it and why? I'm guessing it's "Deployable" during deployment, to be put with it's owner. The FAQ below also says it's a non-target-able marker state so... Doesn't really matter. It's specifically says Tinbot so no you can't disguise as it. Edit: What's up with all of the new guys with MSV1 and Mimitisim or ODD? Jayth Karhu Hortlak Ye Mao Grief Operators Frontovik has one guy
First bullet. During the Deployment Phase, place the TinBot in base to base contact with its owner. This fulfill the Deployable trait. Anyway... MSV1 + Mimetism/ODD? Still far better than MSV2 + Camo...
It's an easy way to make a unit a good gunfighter without providing a faction more camouflage or MSV2.
