Thought i'd make a thread about how the new troops effect Vanilla since it's great affected too. While the new troops can't form teams other than Duo (and even that is suspect), there are some great troops for it.

We already had a good amount of camo and now we have more with the Hundun and Yaofang. I almost accidentally made this list. I was half way through and saw most was in camo! So I stayed with that idea.Everything as at least mimetisim. And it's not a bad list for some missions!

What's some of your thoughts for them in the Generic Yu Jing?

Considering how all the new IA profiles were added at AVA 1, I was really quite surprised that we got AVA 2 on most of the WB ones. Hundun and Long Ya are definitely the biggest boons to vanilla, but there's good toys abound.

I don't know how to feel about the Hundun. I was excited for new camo options from WBA, but the Hundun itself seems a bit dull, although the MSV1 profile looks interesting to hunt other camo troops (I mainly play against Ariadna). The HRL doesn't really convince me, but I've only used it a few times. The Long Ya, however, does seem quite good. I also think the Jujak, with its combination of a HF and 6-2 movement, might bring more to the table than it may at first seem.

Hundun will get hidden deployment in N4, which spices things up a lot.

That would be neat. When I first saw the profile leaked, I hoped it would eventually get ambush camo, it would fit with the WBA theme. I've seen a lot of speculation on how specific profiles will change in N4, how do we know? And what other YJ profiles do we know will change?

All the new profiles offer something interesting and new, but the most impactful troop by an absolutely massive margin is the Tian Gou.

The Tian Gou (jammer) profiles represent a near-Noctifier ML threat, in that opponents must at least consider the presence of such a troop even if it's not in your list. And the Tian Gou doesn't even have the disadvantage of costing SWC and potentially giving away its presence or absence by points counting.

Obviously you'll have to actually field one (or two!) a couple times to put the fear in your local meta, but forever after the enemies of Yu Jing will have to consider: "is that cheerleader on the roof really just an innocent Zhanshi with no LoF, or is it a WIP14 Jammer that will end my attack run in its tracks?"

All the new Camo/Mimetism/6-2 shooty units are great, but none represent such a drastic new dynamic for the faction as the Tian Gou.

Vanilla YJ after WBA is troublesome in many good ways.
    1. Rui "The King" Shi finally met its worthy opponent called Long Ya, which provide invaluable DZ defense to Vanilla YJ.
    2. Daoying-Fishman camo line os heavier, sometimes obessed, with Hunduns and Long Ya.
    3. Tian Guo; what can I tell, we got better toolkit/jammer than PanO.. the problem is, He competes with our staple man Xi Zhuang!
    4. Adil seems solid, but expensive for now. Having a KSCD means he got a potential seat replacing Lei Gong sometimes. (Bye Bye Pheasant!)
    5. Boss monk packs heavier than like anyone. We got smokes, remember?
    6. We got awesome sculpt zhanshi which validifies them to be fielded.
    7. Ye Maos.. I hope someone could post valuableness of these angry insect visors.

Vanilla YJ just got stronger. Imho the the WB fireteams are not needed to build a strong list and Vanilla can compensate their weekness (LT, Hacker) with the Daoying.

Look at this list, you can even remove the TAG and get two major attack pieces instead with all the goodies in nearly 20 orders.

I'm looking forward to at least trying out the Hundun HRL. 26pts is not bad for what it is. The X-visor will be forgotten about and then you do a surprise shot in the 32-48 range wtih BS13!

I like the Meows. They are the non-combat jumping little brother to the Tiger Soldier. They will FD L1 at least for a while like all MI. The profile I really like is the KHD. Only the Hac Tao has a BTS6 as well. He's also just a good all-around troop. Decent BS12, MSV1, versatile weapons, Mimetisim. Not bad at all. He also doesn't compete that much with his big brother. I suppose you could not CJ the Tiger in, then yes he might compete.

The Tian Gou looks amazing to me. Particularly the Madtraps. But even the basic 24pt. one looks to be great for luring in or keeping away the enemy. I'll need some practice on things to make him look like.

The profile that interests me most on the Jujak is the Engineer. Being able to move that fast to objectives with a bots as well, can be really useful. then also, a Lt. with a heavy flamethrower is good too. I've found that out playing against Naffatun. I wish they had a t least one Tac Aware troop though. They are Veteran Troops after all.

Characters, I like all of them for the most part. Mainly for coolness factor. CC is difficult at best in Infinity but all three of them are excellent at it. But Jing and Adil are not bad shooters either.

The only reason I like the Blue Wolf is that my old Guijia is about the right size for it.

I can't wait to use the Long Fa!

Kunai? Ya a bit of a joke I think. Come back when you have real shooting skill kid.

Really, the two profiles I found to have the most impact, at least on how I'd stereotypically play myself, are the MadTrap Tian Guos, KHD in particular, ( More MadTraps is rarely a bad thing. ) and the Long Ya ( Because it's a decent throwaway defensive unit. Just plant it somewhere uncomfortable, slap a mine down next to it, you're set. ).

That being said, I really like what the Ye Maos brings in terms of specialist options, and me being the HI junkie I am, I do like the new Jujaks.

I'm reserving judgement on the Hunduns until N4 hits.

And the Blue Wolf is at least another option for a TAG.

I'm really liking the idea of 2 Hundun! It's not very expected at all. And so cheap I can afford other things too.

I've got my Excel file done, which makes comparisons of troops much easier. you can seethe Hundun is very good for it's points and abilities. He's cheaper than some BS12 trooops and has better armor! Then also the Camo and X-visor on top of that.

Small note; in the CodeOne screen-cap that @the huanglong posted somewhere in the middle of the 50-pages of White Banner unit leaks thread, the Hundun had MOV 4-4. It's interesting how they are 4-2 in N3 while Jujak started early with the 6-2 HI MOV. I think we'll have 4-4 Ye Mao to look forward to and @Space Ranger has to look forward to making looots of tiny edits like that to the excel (the changes to nomenclature notwithstanding) :p

Something Interesting I found a bit better with the file is that the Hundun with HRL is the cheapest BS13 troop with a SWC weapon. He's followed by the Haidao Redfury, Wu Ming Panzer, Hundun Shock MR, and Knauf. At 26pts. He's cheaper than some BS11 troops but has Camo and ARM3. The X-Visor doesn't hurt either.

Just for the hell of it I also looked at BS12. Top 5 from cheapest is: Son-Bae SML, Rui Shi, Bounty Hunter Redfury, Bounty Hunter Sniper, Bounty Hunter Spitfire. The Tian Gou Red fury comes in 6th.

Guys, I'd like your input about something.

I usually play this kind of list: a reliable 2W HMG platform, some good infiltrating specialist, cheerleaders galore, plenty of smoke, a Rui Shi, the best Lt. in the game, the broken Libertos, a drop troop and a TR bot. Some things change from mission to mission and the armies I expect to face in any given tournament of course, but the core it's the same.

I'd like to try testing (whenever we can leave our houses again) the Hundun HRL and the Tian Gou Jammer. The Holo dude slides just right into the ensemble (and with this list in particular, I like the idea of having him pose as an expensive attack piece going second, while keeping the Daofei in Camo state. Maybe a Hsien HMG or something) but the Hundun is a harder sell.

These are the two options. Which one do you like best? Why?

They are both solid lists. I usually go the same road with Vanilla. The first list has a better synergy with the Daoying and the Monstrucker, because they can buff and repair two targets, while they only have the RuiShi in list2. You can even think about dropping the Yisheng. Who do you want to heal in list1? The Daofei/Guilang/LiuXing might be too far in the middle of the table or you can't heal them anyway.
I'd also maybe swap the jammer Tian Gou with the KHD one. You can then use the repeater of the Guilang to remove hackers, while without a KHD your LT might be too vulnerable once a hacker comes into repeater range of i.e. the RuiShi.

I tried the Jammer and Hundun list online yesterday, in a game of Capture and Protect vs JSA. The Hundun's first ARO was against an Aragoto Spitfire hitting on 3s (-3 range, -3 cover, -3 mimetism)... This was the result:

    Captura.PNG

After that though the Jammer (possing as a Hsien HMG) did wonders and took out two bikes in the reactive turn. We had to "pause" the game and will surely end it today, looking forward to having an active turn with that guy to see what he can do.

*If you need your Infinity fix during this weird times, I recommend Tabletop Simulator. It's actually pretty intuitive and looks really good. Especially the Ming mod for Infinity.
