Really like the horns of the karakuri. Had a similar idea but had insufficient materials or not the right idea for with what to achieve this look. Would you be so kind and enlighten me.
Sure thing! All I did was file down some wire that I use for pinning into points, then drilled holes into the mini's head, and set the wire in there.
I've managed to use my hobby knife to cleanly cut the heads off my models. Being careful and practice helps. I've had my small share of mishaps but I've been successful more often than not.
I've beheaded a lot of mini I'm using this specific tool (dunno the proper word in english so it will be tool :p): never find better than this one, you lose the head (or the body depending on which side your puting the tool) with this but the cut is clean because you have a lot control during the "operation" you really need a good quality one and it should be completely flat
Unless i'm mistaking it, @LeeroyVinland is asking about shaving the head, not removing it. Am i correct?
Those would be clippers/cutters, sheer flush ones being the preference for most for clipping off and getting neatish cuts. Anyone buying any, avoid ones marked as plastic cutters as they're often a bit thicker at the blade, same for the Citadel ones. Also avoid cheap Chinese ones off ebay. I got 5 for £5 long ago, and as I suspected they were in fact barely strong enough to cut air without the blades snapping. Maybe, but if he meant the other thing, we've got it pretty much covered. As for shaving it that is what was meant , well... Carefully scraping with a scalpel, close in work with needle files to smooth. Maybe just clipping bits and using a, putty to reshape the head after the haircut.
Whenever I do really tight cuts, I tend to use a jeweler's saw, especially if I'm planning on using both parts of the cut.
More details: flush / side / micro-shear cutters / clippers (they leave one side of the cut flat =|<= instead of =><=) with tiny "jaws" so you can see what you are doing, used for electronics, capable of cutting soft metals (and plastics, but not hard metals) found in cables, chip legs, and other circuit components. Xuron are the expensive ones (20-30) like W&N series 7 brushes, Hakko or CHP or Wiha are other brands, Taiwan ones are OK for half price (10-15, Velleman VT301), Chinese are random. Visit an electronics shop, they will have other interesting tools, like files, helping hands, tweezers or clamps. And so do jeweler supply shops. Italian made CHP.
Clippers are hazardous if you want to save neck, collar and all. If head is clean (without long hair falling down on neck and collar) I usually gentle but deep cut line when I want to seperate the parts and then slow twist head of the main body. If you do it right you will have clean seperated head without damaging area of separation.
Some pages back, I switched the head of the Kuroshi Rider. Now, she has a fairly accessible neck, but I did it all with a hobby knife. It did take a while though and required some trimming and adjustement, but it worked.

You can find some good models of Inifnity guns for 3D printing on the Internet. But you also need someone with a printer.
