Here is a compilation of all my Druze unit reviews and other articles for budding DBS commanders to have all in one place. While some of these articles may be a little dated, they still work well overall to get an idea of how the various Druze Bayram units function on the table. Enjoy!

Ah, that is great! I tried to search for all your related articles some days ago and ended a little bit disguised by all the other stuff on your blog. Now everything is easy to access and maybe to discuss!

There is so much misinformation out there about Druze: they're weak, not enough options, not viable, non-competitive etc. Hopefully this sets the record straight.

I'd like to check those batreps. Druze was the sectorial that initially got me hooked into Infinity until literally everyone told me I should know better. I very much want to see this sectorial in a competitive light. Hopefully, this thread here will help me with that!

    Druze is a competitive faction.

If you can find a play style you like with them, they have all the tools they need to win games.

Edit: also don't fall into the trap of letting other people tell you what to think in Infinity, subjective personal experience far outweighs internet group think or some group's perception.

I see, we are on a quite similar way at the moment!

When we discuss Druze in a competitive way, there are two things to check:

    1. Look at the new 2019 statistics - based on numbers, Druze wasn't that successfull. But when you are checking the numbers of picked units, you can conclude, that most of the lists were quite standard and copied by playstiles and game plans of other factions. From my experience, Druze needs a different approach to the game. I am quite successfull (of course, my average performance is around the worldwide performance, but it increases over the past games!) with something different then statistics say - Going with Fugazis and Pathfinders, maximising the effect of your EVO-Kameel and so on. Short: Druze needs an other way of planning.

    2. Even when coming from QK, Druze misses some important tools like a good Doc or the MSV HMG. All the redudancy and failproof other factions has, is barely existing in Druze. So in most cases, your new and special plan can fail quite fast because of fragile units and or standard stats. Top-factions are forcing their way through every problem by gunning it down our drowning it in camo-markers. That is something to understand and handle not so hard after some games and thoughts. The necessary work-arounds Druze needs, are far more difficult to execute well. So you need to learn and play different.

If you look on the success-reports here in the forum, you will see lists, I initially thought of being randomly put together, because of being totally different from what I knew from QK and MO. But somehow they worked and worked in a way, I didn't know before. And I am quite confident to reach good tournament-results in 2020 with Druze by doing unexpected stuff - normally my second turn only sees actions from EM-grenades and Pathfinders.

Check out my thread from the tournament in Vegas last month. I lost two out of my 5 games. However, both of those games were against much better players than me and both games were lost on the very last order and came down to a single die roll. In my book, i consider that very competitive. I also used very different lists than what the internet-groupthink say you should use.
Mix it up. Find the units you like using and that work for you and your playstyle.

I also want to say thanks, reading through this has really helped me. Also it gave me a reason to buy all the Druze.

Not worth a whole thread, but I've been playing Druze Bayram in a TTS league and I picked up and painted some models:

I've enjoyed my games and I'm looking forward to collecting the rest of the force. The models were a lot of fun to paint.

Look great mate! Im envious of your collection, where are the extra helmeted Druze models from? Were they Limited editions? And who is the model leaning on the crate! Love that pose.

    Hi,

The extra helmeted Druze are the OOP Druze Box. But they are as good as impossible to get nowadays. The missing of additional Druze (the current box is more or less the SWC options) with normal combis, grenade launcher etc. is exactly the reason i havent started a druze army yet. A new Box with basic ??Druze´s?? would be incredible and an instant buy, at least for me.

The model leaning on the crate should be Laxmee from the Foreign Company Soldiers of Fortune Box.

And btw. @helspecter: Your paintjob is super nice. I like it a lot :+1:.

Thanks buddy! I am in a similar position, hopefully with Aida coming out for Defiance and Wulver not having a model (That I am aware of) we may see a Druze release.

Infact, what proxy could you use for Aida and Wulver? Also Hunzakuts, any suggestions on an alternative from the original sculpt?

For Wolfgang I use the armored Authorized Bounty Hunter, but it's fairly pricey at this point. For Aida I was thinking of using Laxmee but you already have her.

Hunzakuts I use a Chasseur and the Haqqislam Spec Ops Husam.

For Amadeus you could use the wulver from the caledonia starter pack. It went oop with N4 but should be rather easy to get. A little bit expensive though but really fitting in my eyes.

The chasseur for a hunzakut is a really good suggestion.

For Aida, havent thought about her. Maybe the female csu?

Aida is a shapeshifter so that opens up a lot of possibilities IMHO

Great work on those Druze models! Laxmee and the Hacker really blend in well as character pieces in the group shot.

Do we have a list anywhere of the current 'must have' model profiles in N4 for Druze Bayram please?

I'm currently sneaking into my collection a couple of models like the Brawler SMG and Rifle, Druze Hacker to cover a number of spots across NA2 armies and wondered what other model profiles I should sneak in, either as their original model or as a proxy for something useful in NA2- DB. One of the profiles I see used often is the MSV2 Brawler Sniper, there appears no need (at this time) to pick up the rest of the box and so I'm looking for a good proxy for it!
