Last one was 10/10/19, the one a quarter timetable puts the next one due about now (allowing for holidays and weekends). On the other hand, N4 and C1 are due this year, so I can understand working time being focused on those rather than an FAQ for a system that will be superceded by the end of the year. @Koni @Bostria or possibly even @ijw?
i'd prefer to have a FAQ about now, we are not even halfway thru the current ITS season. Also if they skip this FAQ, they might forget to keep publishing FAQs. They are only recently starting to get that good habit going on and new habit are easy to lose/forget when you start skipping.
This. It's as much about building a system and community trust in that system as it is actually fixing issues. Part of what I have any from N4 is a solid base for future FAQs to go on with. A large part of this is the processes not just the rules.
Last season is also a good testbed for a bit of a pre-release rules preview. Not all the rules, but maybe some rangeband changes or an early draft of a particular new rule that players might need to get used to.
Yes, you should expect a FAQ in these days. We get a commitment with the community, and the holidays or the new edition are not going to stop us. ;)
I'm sorry if this is a bit overly pedantic, but when I read the justification for Seed-Embryo with KHD not being hackable, I have to ask; does this mean an Yojimbo have to dismount to use his Contender? The profiles of Su-Jian, Dog-Faces, Motorcycles, etc are presented in the same way as Cadmus or Seed-Soldiers - where one profile have no or few weapons.
Yojimbo would also have to dismount to use Smoke grenades ( thrown by hand, not launched from smoke grenade launcher ). People are currently playing him the way he can benefit from good range bands from both grenade launcher and thrown grenades while mounted. If we would to apply this FAQ logic to him, while mounted he could only use Smoke grenade launcher.
emmm.... no... the diference is that the Cadmus or Seed-Soldiers have the seed-embryo rule, and Yojimbo not. One of the effects of the seed-embryo is: The user of this Special Skill must deploy in the Seed-Embryo (State) game state, applying the Seed-Embryo Troop Profile. so the Cadmus KHD to be hackebale have to change to developed shape. Is the same thing with the chest mines, nobody have problems with this, when you change to developed shape, you can use the chest mines, because that weapon is not in the profile.
How do you reconcile this inconsistency with the Symbiont armour state and troop profile? They follow the exact same wording except for some reason it is assumed that a seed embryo is an entirely separate entity from its developed profile. I haven’t seen any information to point in that direction which means that without specifically writing in an exception for seed-embryo, most Tohaa models will have no weapons on their active Symbiont profiles.
I think I understand what you mean here, but the explanation given in the FAQ is a bit inaccurate and could lead to confusion or arguments. Chest-Mines is listed as "Equipment: Chest-Mines" on the Seed profile and, likewise, Yojimbo has listed on the mounted profile "Equipment: Light Smoke Grenade Launcher". However, The Cadmus' Killer Hacking Device* is "listed in the trooper’s option choice", likewise Yojimbo's DA CCW and Contender are listed in the Yojimbo’s option choice and not on Yojimbo's Motorcycle profile. I think what you mean to say is that a Seed-Embryo specifically only has the equipment listed on the Seed-Embryo profile, similar to the Cadmus outdated (hint hint ) profile in the Profiles PDF pictured below * Although, as @Kwisatz Haderach has already noted, the Killer Hacking Device is listed on the Cadmus Seed-Embryo as well as on the Developed shape in Army's printout.
