The old Vet Kazak will be a perfect proxy for the Moblot. I surprised you managed to grab one.
The Vet Kazak in that box can be a Rifle Moblot. I don't know what you would use the old Line Kazaks for. The Scott Gray is also up in the air.

Did some sculpting on the Moblot. I added boots, knee pads, shoulder pads for the tri color, and a pocket pouch. The idea is this model will be the HMG Moblot when not in sapper mode.

Sorry for the rough picture quality one I get the model primed I’ll post the pics. I have also started to get ready for the Asteroid Blues campaign. First game is this coming Tuesday.

Hi everyone! It has busy at the house with work and family obligations taking up my hobby time. But I have made some progress. I started stripping another batch of models including the Briscards and the spec ops models. I also picked up the light flame thrower chasseur which I am very excited to use in Sixth Sense L1 schenigans.

Pics in a day or so hopefully.

@AlbtheA Looking forward to seeing the pictures when they are uploaded on here. I'm curious to see the size difference between the older MRRF models and the new Chassuer mini.

I also listened to the French Connection Episode 101 in preparation for a tourney this weekend! I especially liked your advice on how to use Margot and Duroc spec fire grenades. Thank you for the tips!

The bases look great, particularly like the French sight indicators. Did you use a tool for that or is it just freehand?

Thank you, it’s Just freehand, if anyone complained I would adjust but it gets the job done while keeping the theme.

@AlbtheA Those are wonderful bases! Where did you get them or how did you make them? They look very similar to a basing idea I've had in my head but never could get it right on plastic.

Thank you. I made them myself. First I took some polystyrene with precut 1cm squares and cut them to fit the bases. I added small polystyrene tubes and small watch parts to make them look more interesting and urban. After that I mixed spackle, dried coffee grounds and coarse ballast together and put it in the gaps, once that dried I used PVA glue to cover the spackle mixture so it would not crumble during play. Finally, I applied paint. Despite the multiple steps these were fairly easy to make. I use the evergreen polystyrene found here. WIP pic below.

So I was going to post a batrep but my HVTs arrived in the mail today! They are from Hasslefree Miniatures and couldn’t resist painting them up. They are complete but still WIP until I finish the bases I made for them.

    TOURNAMENT REPORT

This past weekend I attended the Tri-State Tussle in Stamford CT. This was the first year the tourney is put on and the event went so well that they are going to try and making it quarterly!
Missions were Safe Area, Supplies and Unmasking. I brought my MRRF out for their first tourney and I had a lot of fun!

For my first game I played @QuilichQora who happens to be my brother! He recently picked up Dahshat and started a great blog. Check it out here. We have been Wargaming for almost two decades but rarely get to play against each other in a tournament setting. Especially because we live in different parts of the state so this was a really treat.

    Below is my list.

    Force de Réponse Rapide Merovingienne
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]10
    MOBLOT (Sapper) HMG / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 31)
MOBLOT Boarding Shotgun, Panzerfaust / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23)
MOBLOT Rifle, Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 21)
    MÉTRO Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 8)
    MÉTRO Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 8)
ZOUAVE (Sapper) Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25)
BRISCARD Heavy Rocket Launcher / Assault Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 23)
BRISCARD (Fireteam: Haris) Marksman Rifle / Assault Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25)
BRISCARD (Forward Observer) Marksman Rifle / Assault Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25)
    ZOUAVE (Sapper) HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 30)

    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]5
CHASSEUR (Forward Observer) Rifle, Light Flamethrower, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20)
CHASSEUR (Forward Observer) Rifle, Light Flamethrower, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20)
    PARA-COMMANDO (Forward Observer) Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 21)
    112 Light Shotgun / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 12)
    MÉTRO Lieutenant Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 8)

    6 SWC | 300 Points

The game plan was to hole up the Moblot/metro fire team in a building and try to have the Para-Commando sneak on a late game board edge to grab points. The game was a bloodbath where we both were put into retreat on the final turn. The first turns were dominated by his core trading pieces with mine until there was nothing left. I deployed the Briscard Haris in the middle left away from the fire team. Once the coast was clear I snuck one of them across the border to secure the remains of where the two fireteams took each other out. Foolishly I drew an unnecessary ARO and lost my FO Briscard costing me an OP because he was my liaison officer. I dropped the Para-Commando in Turn 3 to secure a quadrant after midfield Chasseurs dealt with stragglers and made some lucky dodges. In the end it was a 5-1 victory for me. It was so brutal, we only had 41 points left on each side!

I hugged my bro, cracked my knuckles and went into the next round feel good.

For the remaining two missions of Supplies and Unmasking I ran this list:

    Force de Réponse Rapide Merovingienne

BRISCARD Marksman Rifle / Assault Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24)
    BRISCARD Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 25)
CHASSEUR (Forward Observer) Rifle, Light Flamethrower, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20)
CHASSEUR (Forward Observer) Rifle, Light Flamethrower, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20)
ZOUAVE (Sapper) Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25)
    112 Light Shotgun / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 12)

    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]7
LOUP-GAROU Boarding Shotgun, Adhesive Launcher, Stun Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18)
    LOUP-GAROU Viral Rifle, Stun Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 21)
LOUP-GAROU (Fireteam: Haris) Viral Rifle, Stun Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
    ZOUAVE (Sapper) HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 30)

In round 2 I went up against @MarkmassacrE I have played him before at the local store, and while it is a bit of a drive for him, the two games we have played have always been very enjoyable. I always feel like he kicks my teeth in but I claw back afterward. He was playin Yu Jing with impetuous guys a Hsien and a RuiShi with the bells and whistles along with a Ninja hacker.

The theory of deployment for this game was to put Chasseurs in the midfield with overwatching Zouaves and Briscards on the TechCoffins. The Loup-Garous were there for hunting order generators. He smoked the midfield and moved the RuiShi up into it. I lost a Zouaves Sniper Rifle sapper and HMG before he drew too close to a Camo Chasseur that flamethrowered him in response killing the RuiShi. I learned after removing models that I actually needed to pass a WIP roll to intuitive attack that, which I forgot. It was a big blow but mark was a sportsman about it and I was embarrassed I forgot. The Hsien kept harrying my Briscards who also survived a AD tiger solder strike thanks to a 112 Doctor who could not miss with his medikit. In the end I got that side with attrition and close fire assault pistols. Last turn the game he had to go for it and revealed the ninja hacker who grabbed a supply box and ran onto of a building. A Briscard took a shot. And downed the Ninja, calming walking over and coup-de-gras the ninja earning me a classified and picking up the supply box. 7-0 win for me and I am riding high on my Frenchies. they must be paying me back for being fully painted.

Third Round was unmasking against @EryktheRed’s Steel Phalanx. I have never played them before and have heard about the horrors of ODD. His list had a lot of characters including Phoenix, Ajax, Panasthilea and the named sniper.

I took up position in two buildings, the Loup-Garoua on the left and the Briscards on the right. He had Ajax and Myrmidons holed up behind a building before they advanced. The rest were in a building on his left with great HRL and Sniper spots. Turn 1 saw Ajax rock up and hit the button and lots of missed shots because of ODD. The myrmidon hacker hit the button and revealed my DT! Yikes! They then moved up ready to smack him for delicious OP’s. my Chasseur then snuck out of Camo and burned the ODD right off before the turn was over. On my next activation the Briscard went down to the sniper character as did the Chasseur but not before another burn that took out the hacker, his only specialist. I breathed a sigh of releaf and went to doctoring my models that got taken out by the sniper and HRL ARO’s. From there my Chasseur moved up to hit buttons and kill DTs and decoys. Ultimately it was a fun fight, but trapping Ajax and his beat stick anamatarcos in the middle of the field was rough. In the end I won the sniper duel through attrition and grabbed some points. 8-0 major victory. Eryk is great to play and I love that he brings models he likes. They certainly felt fun and powerful to play against and he was a great sport.

When the chips fell I got 2nd after being undefeated in my first ITS ever! I grabbed an Aida Swanson as my prize and relished the high ELO that will inevitably one plummeting to where I truly belong. I felt in control of my army with options every turn. MRRF is a fun but weird sectorial. I look forward to the next Tri-State Tussle in March.

@AlbtheA Congrats on your great victory. I'm glad to hear that the French suited and worked well for you.
From your experiences so far in Infinity matches which faction/sectorial has given you the most trouble? Which one/ones have been teh easiest? Any lists. combos, links that you've grown fond of since your start with the sectorial?
Lastly, have any of the other factions/sectorials caught your eye or looking at a second army hasn't crossed your mind?

The faction that has given me the most trouble is PanO. MRRF has trouble with hard targets so TAGs and good shooters can get me bad. So far I have played combined, PanO, YuJing, Dahshat and Ariadna. Yu Jing has probably been my favorite to play against because my opponents usually run lists willing to scrap in the midfield.

I am super fond of the Briscard HRL and the Zouaves Sniper Sapper. I pretty much always have at least a Haris of the Briscards and the Zouaves. The Briscards can do a lot with specialists in the link and the HRL is scary in ARO too. The Zouaves sniper has been so good in the reactive turn and with foxhole and shock he usually takes more than his points worth down with him. I have not tried the Zouaves HMG in suppressive fire yet but it is on my list to give it a go.

I traded some old Aleph models for Invincible Army. The color scheme and the MoWang are the two things that drew me in. I look forward to trying remotes and Tactical Awareness for the first time on something. But I have committed to painting my remaining MRRF before I field IA in an ITS.

@AlbtheA I think you'll like Invincible Army then. Full of HI and other non-Ariadna things it will be a treat for you to learn/play. You should post a question thread in the Yu Jing forums today on how to build/play the sectorial. I'm sure you'll get alot of good advice while you are finishing your MRRF. Give it a shot and see what happens.

I think I will as well. The HI is going to play very differently from the MRRF and I think the smaller force will be a nice challenge. I have been lurking in the IA tutorial stuff and look forward to giving it a test run. This army will probably wait until it is fully painted before I hit an ITS so as to get the ropes of the MRRF first. Then IA for N4.

Congratulation for the tournament. yeah they happen to be a strange sectorial with not real super star but average guys trying to be where they need when they need fast though deploiement skills (infiltration, para etc) / using FT order efficiency, lot of orders.

Try Margot and Duroc sometime. They are a nasty surprize your opponent will be wary of everytime.

Almost hit the purchase button on an online retailer for Margot and Duroc but chickened out at the last minute to finish work on the rest of the stuff.

    So much left to paint.

I use glue guns on the Chasseur and on the Loup-Garous but haven’t had much success. Perhaps I need to try them in a full core link... any success with full core of Loup-Garous @Marduck ?

I didn't play them that much as a core link. I had some success but them pale in comparison to the moblot / metro core.
The sniper can be an ARO piece if there is a very good spot for a sniper (a place where he can stay more than 80 cm away from any hmg) but not very resiliant. They can be useful for a last turn rush.

But I think they are more interesting in a haris as an agression tool if can avoid targets with mimetism or ODD or use the corps or remain of previous trooper to lay some shotgun templates. B3 Shotgun template until 60cm with no malus is very interesting when you have a clear path to a deploiement zone where you often have 2 or more models standing next to each other.
