Your Dahshat Fireteam

    Now that we’ve had a few months under our belt, what’s peoples thoughts on the Dahshat fireteams? Composition, usefulness, etc.

    Core Teams: Brawlers, Ghulam, Zuyong
    Brawlers

    For me, the Core team is either Ghulam or Zuyong. Brawlers are just meh compared to both of those.

    Ghulam
    A great defensive team but can be used moving up too. I like the Missile Launcher, FO, Lt., and Deployable Repeater+E/Mauler if I have some points.

    Zuyong
    Right now it’s hard to get away from a Zuyong+ABH team. Lately i’ve been doing a mirror image of my Ikari core. But these guys are super flexible! I tend to like of course the TacAaware HMG. Sometimes x2. or a TA HMG + LT. HMG.

    Dahshat -> Ikari
    Zuyong ML -> Tanko ML
    Rui Shi -> Brawler MSR
    ABH with SMG x3 -> Keisotsu x3

    Wildcards
    For other wildcards to go into Core teams, I actually like Miranda. I don’t think a character with BS12 and ODD should be seen as scoffed at! Sometimes the enemy will not shoot at her to their detriment! But i prefer her in a team that moves up to use her as a speicalist. In which case the BSG is a nice option.

    I’m not a fan of Sforza yet. I need to try him more. If I did it would probably be in a Ghulam team. BS13, X-Visor, Viral Rifle is not bad at all.

    I almost always have Valerya in a core team because i want her to have the Sixth Sense. Also she gets a bonus if I need to lob a pitcher.

    ABH
    They are awesome! I like all of them but I keep going to the SMG. I almost feel they should just get rid of Brawlers and allow ABH to form their own link.

    Haris Teams: Odalisqes, Brawler, Zuyong
    I don’t actually use a Haris much. But when I do, it usually the Zuyong. I like to use a Haris for getting specialists to where they need to be. That usually means adding in Valerya or Miranda for specilst and Rui Shi if not use in the Core.

    Wildcards
    I like Miranda in one as a specialist to move up. Sforza again seems meh but I need to try him more. Valerya is also good in Haris. Especially in a Zuyong due to the Tinbot B.

    Duo: Odalisques, Brawlers, Zuyong, Rafiq, Maghariba
    I like Duo a lot. I sometimes like to do one core and many Duo.

    I like the Rafiq FTO Red Fury+ABH or Miranda

    Here i have several options.

    If going second, I use the brawler as my defensive core, 2 ABH with SMG, 1 ABH RF, Valeria and Brawler MSR, and a Zuyong Haris with Ruishi and HMG

    If going first, i do a haris with Valeria, Zuyong Haris, Ruis Shi and a core with Zuyong HMG, Zuyong LT, ABH RF wich try to flank from both sides.

    It all depends on table distribution, objective and going first, but, the flexibility is there.

    Flexibility and guys that can join a link when needed is Dahshats strongest thing.

    I played this recently with great results. I really recommend the zuyong missile launcher in the core

    I am also greatly enjoying the Zuyong ML in a core. My typical loadout is:

    With the extra Bounty Hunter filling in when a team member inevitably dies. Packing two Tactical Awareness orders and a multitude of firepower, this fireteam does pretty much all the heavy lifting you need.

    The other core I keep coming back to is the simple Ghulam reactive team:

    If I have the SWC and a point I'll swap the Sniper for a Missile Launcher. This one is more passive and I generally expect the Sniper to soak a couple orders before falling, then the rest of the team hunkers down and provides orders for other active pieces.

    One other I've tried in some variations is this:

    I initially used it with shotgun Miranda in place of the SMG Odalisque for button pushing and close-range assault capability. I'm also considering swapping Sforza for the Odalisque Spitfire, though I like the fact that this team is so SWC-light but packing tons of firepower, albeit short-ranged. Mostly I plan to move this haris into the midfield and either hunt something big or break the team to coordinate suppression fire.

    I must admit that Odalisques were a unit I initially dismissed when evaluating Dahshat, but they've performed extremely well on the table. They're incredibly tough to remove if you get them into a good spot.

    I just went up against him. He’s almost his own fireteam! The Sixth Sense makes him realy hard to hit wtih e/m grenades or suprise him.

    How about Haris teams?

    I haven’t done yet but I really want to do. Valerya+Zuyong+Rui Shi. I think the Tinbot B is a big bonus for her.

    I really like the Al Fasid HMG. Its a great toolbox and can just sit surrounded by mines and hold its own. Or it can march up the board lobbing grenades, smoke and mowing people down.

    But...

    There is so much in Dashat that can do the same, cheaper, and provide more than that one order.

    McMurrough is better at smoke and being a light mortar with grenades.

    Tac aware Zuyong is a better cheaper spearhead with more order efficiency and fireteam bonus'.

    Libartos and Huzkanuts are better mid field mine layers and come with additional perks.

    And all of the above are faster

    I like Brawlers. They are cheap and as most of the profiles I paramedic are, well, McMurrough so having terrible WIP isn't an issue.

    The Sniper is a beast in a fire team with a bounty hunter sniper and can lock down objectives.

    I have used Sforza in a 5 man team. He is great for impersonating a Boarding Shotgun miniature then hammering 2x BS16 Viral shots into your opponent. The issue is cost, he is very expensive in a faction of cheap gunfighters and Armour 2 dogged is not great. The most important factor in taking Sforza is that he is FREAKING COOL!!

    I've used this - I like it a lot. The haris is far less awkward to maneuver than a full five-man, tactical awareness is useful to get the rui shi into position to attack effectively, and Gromoz with a tinbot and either her pitchers or the rui shi's repeater can stack a comfy -9 on many enemy hackers to win a brain blast fight. Add in the fact that Gromoz is a specialist, and the Zhuyong can handle gunfights at close range, and it's a very flexible package.

    Plus in an absolute pinch if your core link goes down you can reform a new core around the haris Zhuyong.

    I find i am using the Tinbot Zuyong more and the Tac Aware HMG Zuyong less.

    Most games the Ru Shi our irregular camo guys and McMurrough are my spearhead pieces and the HMG spends a turn or two just... existing.
