Could have sworn @ijw had said that you cannot use Special Fireteams in Vanilla. *waves hand* Chose YJ for fluff, but Hassassins and Ariadna are for looks. Nomads are for a specific theme (every model with Zero Gee). I'm so hoping that N4 destroys those [ expletives deleted ] things.
Maybe the idea is not taking bad units (Zuyongs) only for ~free~ orders and take utility units instead that will actually win you the game or keep your TAG safe
At which point you might as well play Vanilla, which I think is the place to run a Guijia, if there is such a place
Special Fireteam notes for a Sectorial only apply to that Sectorial. However Krit has notes for his Special Fireteam even in generic Yu Jing, and this has been confirmed as intentional rather than a mistake in Army.
OK, thanks! I may have gotten into the bad habit of ignoring just about everything Army says about fireteams, especially in Vanilla.
Another question on top of that one, does this one necessitate the use of an EVO repeater's TeamPro to set up? While my assumption as a vanilla faction would normally lead me to say so, the wording on Krit's profile and a closer look at the general rules for fireteam common requirements possibly suggests otherwise, and I'd like to be sure. If Kokram can duo with the Guijia in vanilla without an EVO tax, the pairing would become quite a bit more potent in my eyes. Like... I could actually build something fun out of that.
Any chance you could find a link to that for us, and also chase up on what's the deal with Patsy and Tai Sheng being/not being Orcs/Zuyongs?
That's good to see. It'd be nice is @HellLois or @Koni could clarify how and why Patsy and Tai Sheng work in their vanilla armies as well.
@Janzerker Now that you've mentioned giving NCO to Guijia, I'm starting to wonder if I'd run that over plain Mowang, even though the latter does have some limitations over TAG.
They don't count as zuyong/orcs/wildcard or whatever in vanilla, so they can't get in fireteam. Simple as that.
Depends what you want to build around a tag 1) ARO fireteam, engineer in a duo and 1-2 utility pieces 2) two groups, infiltrators, mines and smoke every faction with sectorials faces this, except none have engineer in a duo you may find it better to run marut in vanilla to have the benefit of smoke you may find it better to run szalamandra in vanilla to have bigger order pool and chain rifles you may find it better to run raicho in vanilla to have orders and noctifier you may find it better to run seraph in vanilla for orders you may find it better to run maghariba in vanilla for ghazi support why choice supposed to be a bad thing? also here is an example of a 2 group guija list in IA you can spend LT orders either on assisted combat jump or the assisted fire for missile bot Invincible Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 GŪIJIĂ MULTI HMG, Heavy Flamethrower / DA CCW. I think it's the *why* section of that question that's the important bit mate, getting at the rationale behind the design decision for them to not count as their base troop
Yup. Because CB said so. Does it make sense? No, not really. But that's what they said, so that is the way it works.
I don't think it'd hurt to hear an explanation of a few things, I'd love to have "designer's notes" on a few of the more contentious issues for sure
But didn't @ijw specifically say Patsy didn't need the ORC tag because it was in her name? Edit: nevermind, it was psychoticstorm
Since the yuandun (Guijia duo with sensor remote if i remember corectly) i was interested in this particular duo team. Because YuJing seems to move slowly in the "command and manpower, not super hightech but mass production and flexible" realm, my approach to the guijia while conserving the YJ vibe would be to give him a special skill like "support duo team". He is allowed to form a duo with one remote without the need of team pro in vanilla/IA. With this, he can get flexible support like repeater, sensor, roadblock, some new kind of remote with Tinbot or smokescreen (like grenades but only centered on the remote). Remotes are fast enought with at least 6-4 to not cause any problems with coherency, your Tag can be safer agains hacker and camotokens, you can have a specialist without dismounting. Just my 2 cents
