This makes my Frost-Giant's Daughter list funnier, but I probably still won't field it. But I am more eager to actually play this season. All I did last one was newbie games. Couldn't be bothered.
Yeah, to be fair, the option to delete posts is much needed on this forum. But I think I can feel where you were going to go with that... And, yeah, I agree that this helps where it wasn't needed and hurts (because of the points increase) in a lot of places where it WAS. There ARE a few options where it's just good (vanilla Multi+Flame Squalo, Guijia, Lizard and all the other vanilla MBTs is where I think this should have been targeted, along with most of the ones they hit with a points increase (but probably with no points increase). Like, seriously, I think this makes me consider a Guijia in Vanilla Yu Jing in a way I simply never did before. It might not actually be a penalty to take one now.
The points increase seems to target non MBTs and apparently PanO is nothing but. :P It's a weird cutoff where the Overdron gets the bump but the Seraph stayed the same. The Xeodrons I can understand as they have link team bonuses to consider. The others are head scratchers for sure. The fact that several already solid tags got buffs is kinda bonkers. Sphinx with an extra order is going to make people cry even harder. The Cutter becomes a bit more viscous in Varuna. The Avatar becomes more efficient. It's going to be interesting and I've been running a fair number of TAGs recently. It's just going to encourage me even more.
The tags were solid yes but people still favoured infantry spam. CB is making the choice during list building more compelling which I appreciate. Yet to see more tags in my meta though. I'm interested to know what this does for Uhlan stock though...
I think there were three good choices. 1: Give all TAGs Tactical Awareness at no cost. 2: Give all TAGs Tactical Awareness at the usual cost of 4pts. 3: Give all TAGs under 70pts Tactical Awareness at no cost and all TAGs over that threshold Tactical Awareness at the usual cost of 4pts. But instead they went for the only BAD choice I can see. All this means is that the TAGs which basically never saw play will never see play even harder, while the ones which occasionally got action will get that action slightly more often.
With how it affected everyone besides PanO, it could also be a test for giving PanO even more of a faction identity besides just being shooty. Haven't people been asking for that for ages?
To offer a counter point. Most MBTs were pretty tight on points depending on what list you were trying to make. They may have felt that the extra couple points on the high end would hurt its support too much to consider.
