Why would someone assume that? They're a Dogged Warband. You do make certain that your opponent's know that they're a Warband?

The two defining features of Warbands are high CC ability and Fury. There's few Warbands with CC less than 20 and mostly they're weird (Irmadhinos, Yuan Yuans, Dog-faces but not Dog-warriors, Hungries/Pups, Desperados and the Antipode Controller).

Yeah, they've been great roadblocks for enemy skirmishers and warbands, the dogged is a big deal, and so is the fact that they can claim cover (initially). So what if I'm shooting with a pistol?

I'm a big fan of the ADHL version if you have 0.5 SWC and 3pts spare. Dogged Panzerfausts / glu-guns are really quite good.

Mostly because they look like Aguaciles and aren't nearly as active as say, Morlocks. It's one of those things that you can tell someone, but doesn't quite sink in.

This happens quite often. I find them quite useful beyond DZ point defence and smoke bots. running one up the table and just having it run around breaking stuff and become a pain the ass for my opponent if it survives and I can largely forget about it.

Alternatively they are great at punishing an enemy assault piece that has over extended, which happens a lot especially if Emily is on the table as a lot of people will tunnel vision hard when it comes to putting her down. A good example was in a recent game when my opponent went deep with a hac tao in an attempt to kill her, which left it out of position and too far forward which allowed the the Jag on my following turn to throw a smoke out run around the terrain piece and slap the stupid out of it.

I'd do the latter. Docs are just so damned useful, as are Jags.

Got to play against Shasvastii recently, that was the first time I played StarCo, actually. I had a list with Riots + Emily core, Raoul and a bunch of cheerleaders and he had the usual stuff with Speculo, lots of camo, TO camo, and the new Dazers thing that pretty much cancel the link bonuses (first time I've seen them either). And boy did I suck...
Any advice how to keep them at bay if playing second (though I'm pretty sure playing first will not be much different)? Now that I think about it, I should have probably got a hardcase (and deploy it last) to try and block Speculo, but I don't see any way to slow their advance or deal with camo markers without spending all the orders on this.

Lunokhods and jags. Hardcases exist to go make a mess of a the TR bot or a Nox team.

Having a good number of spotters also helps against camo lists. A Warcor and a Transductor make decent annoyances who can also get a Discover in if something wants to cross their path.

Also Irmandinhos get serious work done, and their Servant bots also make good spotters for Discover rolls. 11 points of awesome right there, probably quite helpful against Shas.

Was Raoul at all useful? I don't expect Shas leave much just standing around in their DZ to get shot... dropping him for more grunts might help.

Yeah, Irmandinhos are really neat anti camo, you can get double discovers using the Servant, a DTW for Intuitive Attacks, and he's better in CC than most camo infiltrators (especially with +1 Burst, +1 PH from the servant).

Whoa, I had forgotten about the double Discover. Irmandinhos continue to rise in my estimation. Best 8-point investment ever!!

    Well, 11 with the bot.

But yes the Irmandinbro is a great model as is and with the addition of the Zondbots he can really start to be obnoxious/ really effective.
