My last hope for MO

I think per point the Bagh Mari MSR might edge out against the FK, and I would definitely put the Swissle higher than it as well. Not that the linked FK is bad, it's absolutely the best in MO.

 

I would worry about role confusion of your link team. It cant be in 2 places at once and you have all of your eggs in the basket.

 

Why do most of you complete Sergeant Core with the Black Friar? Does the Black Friar get to do something during the game?

 

Having a potential 6th member of the team that can be used to reform it after taking a casualty is super handy.

For example, once your opponent finally takes down the FK ML you left covering the approach to an objective, you can reform the Fireteam to give the Santiago Knight that sweet +3 BS.

 

It also doesn't hurt that he gets to start +4 inches up the board, where the link will probably end up anyway.

He's also super handy for dealing with infiltrators, smoke chuckers, and vis-mod enemies. He also brings drop bears to defend your link in the middle of the board where they'll probably be ending their turn because you only have so few orders to work with. He's the Swiss army knife. Not to mention he can score various Classified cards being MI and having a Visor – I find him invaluable when making an MO list.

 

Talking about msv2 and os fireteam, what is your best choice? Black friar or Koni?

 

Black Friar, due to his Drop Bears, Albedo, and Multi Rifle. Even to Biovisor is sometimes useful.

 

I like the list andre but consider a spitfire lt. Its another specialist in the list and its 360 visor is very useful given you want to maximize your board presence

 

I assume you mean Spitfire Santiago Lt. as he already has the FK Spitfire Lt.

 

Too much Hospitallier, you need more points for other stuff reduce to 2 hospitalliers and fill with other guys, would be better for you.

Damn shame but that's about the best you can pull off by limiting yourself to a Joan+4 crutch.

 

Yeah I’m pretty much of the opinion that the Joan crusader link is probably only for non standard ITS formats like greater than 300 points. It just doesn’t work well at all when I’ve tried it.

 

The Crusade FT is just absurdly strong in 400pts. CB doesn't make its sectorials only for 300pts games but also for 400pts ones. And I think this is something good.

 

A good player can defeat the Crusader FT on almost facctions.
Is not easy, but they CAN do It, I saw a lot of times.

On 400 pts list the only change is that your enemy have more tools for stop your FT.

If I play against this Doom Fireteam I try to do some think that I Know that work because someone use this angainst me or other MO playera (is important understand that neutralizating the FT sometimes is better and easy than destroy all the Knigths if FT):

- Smoke: If your enemy have smoke can use It for block the LoV and complete the maxium of the objetives. An army with the Crusader FT have a few specialist, and they can't be on all the objetives if they must go to all the places and supere the WIP rolls only with 10 orders.
- A lot of Cammo: Ignore the FT sometimes is the best way to win. The FT is ok only place at time, if your army have a lot of Cammo especialist, and minelayer the FT probably spem to much orders moving, doging, and Discovers the Cammo token. You can ingnore, and try to active more objetives tha the FT.
- Hacking/EM ammo: There's some tropos (infiltration, Cammo, AD) that can get closer to the link and use Oblivion, or Blizten or E/Mauler. Hard, not impossible.
- INM-1/2 to FT Leader: There are only one enginier on MO, and has WIP12. STOP the leader stop the Link.
- ODD/TO: A Offensive troop can impose this -6 and kill the FT one by one. Expensive of Order but possible.

I only say that I Think There are better and funier ways to play MO that use Crusader FT.

 

At 400 pts, the MO guy gets also more points to deploy what is needed to support such deathstar. The link costs 202 pts with 2 HMG and a Santiago KHD. This leaves you 2 SWC and 198 points for support and defense. That's enough to get what you need.

 

Not to get a funtional 20 order list.

Of course is only my personal opinion about Crusader FT on 400 pts list (or 300, I feel the same).

 

The Crusader Fireteam is supremely bad.
Not because of the troops who can join it - those are definitely some of MO's best choices - but because you need 5 people alive to reform it.
That ruins all synergy with Joan dropping 4 Fireteam members into SF at the end of a turn and then rebuilding next turn.
As well as the usual problem of "Link broken & someone dead".
