Dunno about the tube, but Litko Aerosystems sells clear acrylic in any base size you care to specify.
For round bases I'd use clear acetate or even blister like plastic. Can get sheets of it on eBay pretty cheap. Plasticard is an alternative but I use clear acetate because it's usually cheaper and you can see what is going on through the clear stuff. Cut a piece so the ends match up without an overlap and tape over the join with standard tape. Green Stuff World have a UV reactive clear resin and also sell round metal base size cutters. They showed a few bases being done with those on their YouTube channel so maybe give that a look. Might be a simpler option than 2 part resins. Will advise a bit of vaseline on the inside of any barriers though to help with removal. I'm also use to sanding and polishing after going from 180 grit to 4000+ grit. Takes time but I'm a glutton for punishment.
Don't have that one so more thinking the Haidao next to make it a full fireteam. Then the Daoying sniper I have leaving the Liu Xing for last. Then look at expanding. A good proxy for Tai Sheng could be good. Maybe I'll just use the boarding shotgun Zuyong for now.
Been a while since I did some more but... I worked on the Haidao and Liu Xing last night. Just the grey areas and the Liu Xing flesh are done so far. And I admit, those diagonal sculpted details are going to be tricky. Still a way to go.
I really, really like your red. Like my own though, I'm a bit sad to see the darker crimson hue mostly covered by the brighter red in the final shots... but those dark hues just don't pop as much on the table. And great high-gloss white highlighting. Looking forward to seeing the next group shot!
Wow. Has been near three months since I did more on these. Glad I worked on the Haidao today. Need to get these finished and get some momentum back into my painting. Thank you for looking. Hopefully have more done by the end of the week.
awesome!!! im planing to get some invincibles and make them as jade warriors... inverting the red and green. What do you think?
Slow one today. Just did some work on the textured armour parts in green. Hopefully have these done by the end of November which will give me six finished, one to paint, and a load of decisions to make about what to add.
