Not really no, the Kappa maybe if I'm low on points. Whenever I consider something like the Gamma or Omega or some other door kicking LT I find it's pointless as I'd rather have the non LT version and the alpha to get more flexibility in order expenditure.

Any thoughts?
My alpha got nailed to a wall by a droptroop yesterday because there was nowhere in my DZ that I could safely hide his hefty S4 base. I still like the profile, but I think I'd probably also be pretty comfortable with two generic koopa troopers sitting on different ends of the DZ and a few saved points in the bank.
Had my first game yesterday as well and I found that protecting an Alpha against Raoul Spector takes up a lot more resources than I would like. I had a safe hiding spot, but I wouldn’t want to risk Raoul making an assisted jump, eating a template and then BSGing me to hell. Not really sure how to get around that yet. In LI I think a fighting LT and Alpha CoC might be a good option. For larger order pools, the two Kappa might be the best way to go since you aren’t that starved for SWC if you buy into Dakinis with HMG, TR bots etc rather than too many HI.
Stick a Gangbuster's MadTraps close to the Alpha, maybe? Lynx with Plasma Carbine, Multi Sniper or Shock Marskman Rifle to provide an ARO that Raoul doesn't get up from (and doesn't know about)? Or possibly stick a Sirius' pet nearby - that's a template that Raoul does not want to eat.
I just finished my first game with them and I 10-0 my opponent. Epsilon managed to wreck some yaogats and daturazi followed by a dive bomb varingian and the gamma rolled forward to kill the rest of the army while I pushed buttons with a gang buster and forward observer kappa. It was surprisingly efficient and good. 3rd go at it ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 3 ALPHA Lieutenant (Strategos L2) 2 Light Shotguns, 2 Nanopulsers / Pistol, DA CC Weapon. From there focused on board control/defense with a couple hunter options. Could drop 2 Varangians for a Lamda Engineer and repeater bot to support the Betas and Dakini.
All of those work, but I feel that at least for me that is too many points spend on the LT issue. Gangbuster and Team Sirius I‘d like to protect the midfield and for my TO units I‘d prefer to pick the best position rather than to find an okish position that also protects the LT. I think a Varangian nearby for the additional template so that dying on the jump at least becomes a possibility for Raoul (abd even more likely for plain 1W AD troops) might already do the trick and is pretty much all the resources I‘d be willing to allocate to that problem. Let’s see if that works in the next games..
So I have played today with O-12. My opponent is quite new to Infinity and I am not experienced player myself. The mission was Show of Force. It was O-12 vs JSA. Omega died to Kitsune in first turn so its hard to tell how good is he. But she died in the same order killed by lucky crit from Varangian. MVP of the match was Beta and Kytta duo. They fought against Saito and Domaru around panoplie. Flash pulses to the rescue. But I will say that Beta with cybermask is quite good and troublesome for opponent. So here's something I'm playing with conceptually. I'll probably swap the two Epsilons for two Varangians, but the idea is pretty straightforward. Use the Omega and Epsilons to clear out the midfield, trust Dakini to secure objectives. Looks solid. I’m not a fan of Goldstein, but let’s see how he does on the tabletop. What do you mean by replacing two Epsilons with two Varangians? That works neither in points nor AVA.
Sorry, I mean just swapping them in order groups. Putting the Epsilons in group one and two Varangians in group two. It would, theoretically, give me more orders to spend on my attack pieces. Although they are then competing with the Omega / Goldstein. I share some of your concerns about Goldstein and considered swapping him for either Hippolyta or just a Delta. But...I like the model and an AD missile can be SO helpful at times.
I'd actually boot the Alpha out of Group 1. But, it's looking pretty good, I'd love to see it on the table.
This is a slight tweak on the list just in case Goldstein doesn’t work out. It looses a specialist, but I hope the Delta makes up for it in terms of mobility. amicus curiae──────────────────────────────────────────────────GROUP 1 10 3 ALPHA Lieutenant (Strategos L2) 2 Light Shotguns, 2 Nanopulsers / Pistol, DA CC Weapon. Thanks! That's a good idea to help balance the command groups, I may try that. Although it will be some time before I get this to the table. I want to at least have the Wildfire O-12 forces painted up before proxying the rest. Thanks. I actually had a really similar variation cooked up as well. Hippolyta can serve as a similar missile to Goldstein and I'm really interested in seeing how she works.
Played Hippolyta two times. She performed better than I expected. both times she managed to get some kills. But she needs some orders to get close to the enemy with Eclipse smoke etc. But Eclipse is really nice in times of linked msv2 snipers...
I feel people are sleeping slightly on the Sirius profiles. The fact that the robo-dog is a repeater is huge - they're white noise platforms that start in the midfield, opening up all sorts of avenues for the omega/any other TO/ODD model to swing through. They also synergise with the ubiquitous 2x GangBusters KHDs. Also the Sirius Red Fury can pull the White noise/Xenotech trick against linked MSV2 profiles as well with relative ease - while it's nowhere near a sure bet as with the other factions, no one wants to cop a BS12 Red Fury + Large Glue Template into their linked MSV2.

Went with 2x Kappas over the Alpha as I'm not sure if I like the S4. It didn't work for Voronin, and I'm not sure if it works for this guy. The SWC 1 on the Kappa Lt could potentially be painful, but for some reason I've not really feeling as SWC-starved in building O12 as with others. The CyberGhost HD+ I feel is non-negotiable - it's one of the best hacking pieces in O12 and O12 with its Varangians, Mad-traps, etc is better positioned than most at keeping it safe, even without link teams. The Omega Datatracker + Xenotech leverages the non-marker midfield pieces inc. the white noise Sirius repeaters. The Sirius Red Fury is a solid attack piece as well, and can utilise the White Noise trick if that's your cup of tea. The dual gangbusters do gangbuster things. There's actually a savage amount of large templates in this list, two of which are heavy riotstoppers which I like. They're not heavy flamers, but at least they keep the HI link teams, etc honest. I haven't really delved into the more esoteric options like Lynx, Betas, Basilisks, etc - these are just my initial thoughts. This is just meant to be a list that has modest long-ranged ARO presence, solid midfield starting pieces that do surprising well as non-marker 'skirmishers' with a generous smattering of strong attack pieces. O12 feels nice to build - it has a lot of very efficient regular orders (Gangbusters, Sirius, Omega, 2-3 Varangians) that do very well without being linked. Not so keen on the Blue + Gold color scheme - looks a bit campy - probably will paint them like freaking Cerberus from Mass Effect or something.
unrelated - but the 'peacekeeper' rule just makes me think of the O12 guys as those dudes in the Lego Batman movie yelling "NON-LETHAL"
