Anyone use them and like them? I really can't see why to take them. They want to get up close but they start in deployment, sure they have ODD but one MSV can ruin their day. Veteran troops is good if you just happen to get a secret objective that needs it but I found the changes are slim. The ones with the good guns are pricey and then become impetuous with the first kill! So no more cover to add to ODD. MSV1 isn't bad but again they only have one gun that could take out something at range. Too bad they don't have nimbus or smoke grenades themselves. They just seem like worse Myrmidons.

    Thats exactly what they are.

Having said that, I have used them a bunch. You need to be careful with them, but they're astonishingly good when given the opportunity.

The red fury Jayth is absolutely a must-pick, if only for the fact that it can reach out and threaten the enemy at range.
Here's a trick for dealing with the Frenzy: run it in a Duo, with either the cheap SMG Jayth or Victor Messer. So long as it starts the turn in Duo, it will remain Regular and be able to take cover.

I've also used the Pit Patrol Jayths. They're remarkably good, truly, but quite terrain dependent. If your meta favours lots of terrain over a little, or infinitely high buildings - or heck, objective rooms - that can be a good way to get them forward.

Jayth represent something pretty unique in Shas - they're a close combat unit with ODD, direct template weapons, anti-material CC ability, and lets not forget the EM Grenades - the only source of EM in Shas.

Nox also have access to E/M with their zappers. And it’s that sweet, sweet e/m2 no less.

More on topic I’ve tried them once or twice in a haris, but it ended up not really adding much that they don’t do better alone or in a duo. It feels bad having taking the double chain rifle guy (too redundant with the smg), and the Vulcan shotgun is a cool idea that just ends up being too expensive.

I usually play on pretty dense tables though, so maybe I’ll try out the Pit Patrol soon

Lol, dunno how the heck i forgot about the Zappers.

Yeah, the Jayth haris doesn't really do much for me - its a bit too unwieldy when you're basically trying to advance up the board without exposing anyone besides the red fury point man. Having a Vulkan in there would genuinely be epic, but at that cost? And when you can take Victor for cheaper and get a better specialist? It's hard to swallow.

I didn’t see they all have Duo! Using that and Victor is a great idea! Double protected by ODD and White Noise.

I just feel that If I want anything to get into CC it’s going to be the Cadmus. Protheon is so much fun :) The Red Fury is tempting like you said. Good Range, MSV1. I just realized that Victor would blind his own teammate with WN!

Yesterday I ran a Jayth Haris SMG, Hasht Spitfire and Victor Messer (Autonomous Agent of CHAOS!) as a Haris and they worked well together. As Hasht doesn't have an MSV he can safely shoot through Messer's White Noise Zones, and Nanoscreen on the two characters gives you a lot of positioning power for denying the target's cover.
