Hey folks, I'm interested to hear if anyone has had any interesting experiences with the Maghariba in Dashat. I've just assembled mine and I'm keen for an excuse to paint it, but diverting from the stock standard all-the-good-things list is proving more challenging than I'd expected. So in short - how do you use your Maghariba? What do the lists look like, and where does your SWC go after you'v dedicated the 2 SWC to afford her?
I'm curious too. I know the Duo version is expensive but I was thinking of just taking a ABH with SMG. It acts like almost a “guard”. Never underestimate those AKanones! Only the 99 points maghariba can make fireteams. I love this "miniature" With the cheap remote spam you can achieve in dahshat, orders wot be a problem, but i'll only use the Maggie in control missions. If you manage to reach the center of the table and put it in supression fire... better if you get with you a hacker or a repeater for defending against enemy hackers
Nope. Miranda comes with the Duo skill and can replace the Rafiq. As long as one of them has Duo it's okay. However, that's only MIranda. She is the only one that has Duo and is a Wildcard.
Seeing the last discusion about fireteams and wildcards, i dont think that gonna work that way. And Miranda's duo is an special duo
The discussion went many ways. But I think the consensus was that it can be done. I don't think it's something you are going to see much anyway. Also her Duo ability is not a special thing. It's native to her skills. You may be thinking of her Special Duo with an ABH.
But in the list of valid fireteams, she only has the Special, not the duo itself (Like brawlers, for example). So she can be part of any fireteam because wildcard, or form an special Fireteam duo with an ABH (or another wildcard)
I'm sorry but I'm not understanding you. You just answered it. She has Wildcard and can be a part of any Fireteam including Duo. She also has the Fireteam: Duo skill. Nothing special about it. The Special duo is just for her and a single ABH.
We are looking at the same thing and interpreting it differently. It says she can be a part of Any Fireteam of this sectoral arm. Special or Not. Whatever. I'm not going to argue something so small anymore. I'll just ask my opponent before I use. If they don't like, I'll change it to the ABH and Duo.

I think you should put a little more firepower into he link. You could take out a Fanous and change a Liberto to the 9pts versions. To then upgrade a ABH to a spitfire. I think a little more firepower would be better vs. a extra order. Besides, the Liberto SMG is great for going into suppression fire.
Yep - for the second draft I shifted some points around and put in a Rui Shi. It meant cutting Gromoz so no supportware, but it's certainly more gun. I can always shift back or find points for hunzakuts if the mission ends up being more button-centric.
I assumed the special fire team duo meant that the profile with Duo can link with the rafik, or any wildcard . The other profiles don’t have access to a link team. I believe this is made clear by the fact that Maggie is only AVA 1. So it’s not like you are doing duo tags , it’s only meant for the rafik. (Or a wildcard)
As far as I understand it yes. So you can do Duo Maggy+Wildcard, Also Duo Rafiq FTO+Wildcard, You can also Do the Non-Duo Maggy with Miranda Ashcroft because she has the Duo skill. However, why do it?
Do you think it means that Miranda can form a fire team duo with any other miniature ? I don’t believe this is the case. I think their intention is Miranda has fireteam: Duo with bounty hunters , and also she can join any other Duo, Harris or Core. But only if the other model has that ability . This is my interpretation. But I admit it’s not clear.
In answer to the original question: Maghariba are great at sitting somewhere vital and being near impossible to move as long as you have something to cover it from hackers, glue and damn magnets. they are great at holding scoring areas, central control objectives and that huge silhouette means you can hide an army behind it. Remember though, it's gonna be 1/3 your force on it's own and close to half once you've sorted it out some covering fire and hacking protection and the lack of a killer hacker in Dahshat hurts no one more than dear old Maggie, she's put on some weight lately and feeling a bit self conscious so take care of her. I agree, if Miranda forms a Duo Fire team it would be a Miranda Ashcroft fire team or her special fireteam with an ABH, so another wildcard could join her but it doesn't mean she can create a team with any other single model just ABH or wildcards; inversely she can join any other existing fire team because she is a wild card. Those 2 things don't stack as a couple of people have suggested, they don't make other models wildcards (which is what would effectively be happening by combining the 2 separate skills). meaning the non-duo maggie can't join her as it does not have the wildcard skill to replace an ABH in her fireteam nor is capable of creating a fireteam itself for her to join.
