The only unexpected part about that was the Mine Dispenser, TBH. Tarik's essentially a Wildcard, by the by.
Actually we got something new.. A wonderful KHD + CoC Pheasant profile for 34 points That instead looks like developers making fun of us , truth be told… Oh and all mighty invincible can't be cut by monofilament/affected by viral, and other shenanigans Sun Tze! (unless later rules show otherwise )
Spoiler: Off-topic On its shittier profile. In fact, shit enough to ensure it stays in the dumpster with the rest of more expensive MBTs. I have no idea how to even begin leveraging these trendy missile bot duos.
Yeah, no. Mine Dispensers are incredibly strong at pressuring and dismantling fireteams. The Raicho does solid work at 94pts the Maggie is fine at 99 It's also fucking annoying for TO/Camo models to deal with. You see them running towards you, so you ARO dump a mine behind a building they need to get past in their next order. There's alot of neat stuff you can do with it.
Not going to lie, it feels like this update came with a decent amount of power creep. Even looking at Ramuh, it feels that most of the profiles they got were more fully realized versions of what IA was supposed to be (why... look at all that NWI) with more optimized unit costs and less hacking vulnerability.
Ramah's links are clunky as fuck, too many models with alternative movement methods that don't play nice in mixed fireteams.
Well, if you pretend all of them are standard 4-4, then suddenly they are just average in that regard, definitely not something more clunky than random link #52, for what it's worth.
And then when you do want to accomplish something that does require more specific movement abilities, just break them off once you need to, and reform the link once that job is finished.
More along the lines of you want to use those movement abilities to get somewhere to fight, but that means you leave the link behind and lose all the link bonuses you paid for. You can do it but it's clunky as fuck and doesn't feel good to pay for and build a link... then try to use your abilities and lose your link.
Well, you sure give something up when you use such a link as if it's plain 4-4 (aside from occasional Tarik jump or something), but I'm not sure you are truly robbed on a pts front if what you get is a BS16 B5 Fat2 idiocy without paying for more than 4-5 (for spare body, for example in case you will break pointman away) line troopers to make that happen. It gets more questionable when it comes to linking Namurr there, but I don't think populating a cheapish core is a real job for her in the first place.
Is this the time when I resurrect my old idea to make Guijia have Total Immunity? Possibly the ARM needs to be reduced to 6 to keep it in line instead of the 7 I previously suggested. It would make for a very interesting dynamic between the Guijia (Blue Wolf) and the Jotums, where the Guijia is the cheaper and weaker TAG, but in a direct firefight between the two the Guijia is on equal footing since AP wouldn't work on it while the much more expensive Jotum has slightly better odds of hitting.
Why the useless M-bot duo? This shitty "upgrade" is for Azrails. Maggy duos with Rafiq that at least has repeater has sensor is a specialist or with fair Leila ;-)
Because I'm dumb and mixed things up. Well, sensorbots are definitely not bad, especially for their cost. Fairly sure she always has better places to be.
This thought has been stuck in my head a bit too long now not to share it; What if Tai Sheng wasn't Zuyong? What if Tai Sheng was Shang-Ji? She's been performing alright for people. Take her Tinbot profile. Remove NCO and FO. Downgrade the Breaker Combi to a Combi. Change the Chain-Colt to Flamethrower. What if this was the new statline for the basic non-TA Shang-Ji Tinbot? Points cost: unchanged for all Shang-Ji profiles. Side benefit includes Tai Sheng now being Wildcard, allowing for her Breaker Combi profile supplying Hulangs with extra movement and Tinbot
Now you have a really shitty expensive Wildcard. Yay? I guess. Rather stick with the NCO for the Zuyongs.
I think you got the wrong end of the stick. I'm talking about changing the Shang-Ji profile to have Tai Sheng's statline, not the other way around - i.e. possible to Wildcard in a BS 14 HRL to any link, or stick a WIP 14, BTS 6 AHD where the trade off is; 1 lower ARM, 2 lower PH and Tai Sheng would now occupy Shang-Ji's wildcard slot. They'd still be costly, but I think that statline would provide more value and by virtue of NCO, FO, and more exotic weapons it would not de-legitimise Tai Sheng.
Oh alright, sure. The fact that the Shang Ji become BS14 at least now sets them apart from the Zuyong and helps improve their wildcard status.
