The most recent blog post (https://www.infinitythegame.com/blo...QngOPWNoqEKijBJyLvk8ah9dNjOKMy-RIOSdqEtVnBIZc) mentions that one of the special rules getting revised is total immunity. This is what it says: "Total Immunity: This Special Skill has been redefined to better fit its name, removing exceptions and interactions." Who knows what that actually means, but it sounds like it will be an improvement.
One of the important notes in that blogpost is that models are going to have a note like: Total Immunity (Vulnerability: Viral) [ probable example from Dog Warriors ]
Well, the profile didn't get updated, and the rules have been released on pdf: This is an extra clause; » In addition, players can choose between making an ARM Roll or BTS Roll, choosing the most advantageous for them. So... ARM 6 Karakuri, impervious to everything?
That makes the Karakuri a lot more interesting. In a Haris with B2 Chainrifles having ARM6(9) sure is nice. Makes them a heck of a lot more resilent vs CC as well, Mono, Viral, DA, AP, EXP ccws all do jack against them now. Even better they don't give a damn about E/M either (although they might take a pip of damage). Super nice.
Karakuri are a heck of a lot better now. Their inability to dodge E/M grenades was a huge detriment before and now it's just a minor inconvenience.
So they can't be flash pulsed? What happens if someone does? There's no normal damage to a flash pulse. We just ignore it? That's amazing if that's right. Same with E/M - If we're immune to it, and there's no normal damage, they just ignore a hit from E/M weapons?
Flash Pulse is ignored because it is non lethal, no roll is made, no Guts roll. EM is not non-lethal so you can use TI to convert it to normal ammo.
The fact that the tiny Geishabotsi can shake of AP+EXP and Mono hits like nothing while the Oyoroi just kinda sits there and cries is my only complaint. Excellent Datatracker choice now, JSA had space for that.
It's also Optional. So, if you get hit by something like E/M, which doesn't automatically cause damage, you can choose to roll BTS against the effect, not the damage.
You can, but I'd rather take a wound against ARM6 than IMM2+Isolated. This makes the best weapon against Karakuri a gluegun. IMM2 on PH4!
I'm playing in a tournament with 2 objective room missions and you can bet your ass i'm playing a karakul haris in both of them
May want to change the title of the post. This is not a small buff..... I've always been a fan of the Karakuri, but now they're absolutely indispensable. I don't know if i can write a list without a Haris. One Mk12, the heavy shotgun, and the Combi costs 120/0.5. This has so much more staying power than an O-Yoroi at 88/2 it's crazy. I'll really miss my O-Yo....
Nope, gluegun is non-lethal => dolls ignore it completely. Best weapon against them is jammer I suppose, since it comms and dont covered by total immune rule.
