Has anyone found a decent proxy for these? I was considering using Dakini tacbots (they look cool but not thematic) or Haramaki Zensenbutai (since they no longer have a place in Infinity).
Statuesque Miniatures' killer fem-bots? You could quite easily change the weapons out for something a little more in keeping with infinity/JSA.
I had considered Hollowmen..the coats seemed a bit out of place to me. Had not thought of the Asura for some reason. That is a good nomination. Thanks!
In Ikari I use two old Dakini (for the robot-look) with Karakuri heads (for that doll-feeling). The heads fit nicely, just minimal cutting/greenstuff needed.
Whats wrong with the originals? I actually like them, though I did trim one of the heads to remove the top knot.
They're a big pain in the ass to build! I'd go full Ghost-in-the-Shell and find some formal-clothes Japanese civilians from a historical minis maker (or the old Clan War game).
Also, if you jump on it RIGHT NOW, there is a sale on the Warlord 'Geisha Spy' from their Test of Honour range. Note that this is a clearance item, Warlord has sold the Test of Honour game to another company and is clearing out Warlord's Test of Honour stock by the end of the month. I'd really like to get one, but I don't get $$ till the First... that would make an awesome robo-geisha!
I don't remember having issues with mine. So they were either easy, or so tough I blocked out the memory.
They're certainly annoying to build – but fit the rules and thematics so well. So spindly and almost marionette like, they're unlike any other model in the range. It's. shame they'll never be resculpted
I think they're already CAD sculpts. Models that are not CAD sculpts are higher priority for resculpting.
"Dressings forceps" are your friends (they're long tweezers. Mine are 5-6" long and perfect for both picking up fiddly little bits and applying them to the models. They come in straight AND bent tips, too. They also taper down to a nice point. I used them to help glue PanO helmet antennae into the helmet divots, or bike handlebar grips and footpegs onto those models. Tools are the ways we get around the limitations of our stupid clumsy meat puppet paddles.
