I'm loving the new JSA so far, and wanted to add some Karakuri in there. However, those models are not anything I'm interested in at all aesthetically, and am looking for some suggestions on alternatives. (Something futuristic - one person had mentioned "Oiran team" from Malifaux but those weren't a good fit in my opinion.)

    Thoughts?

I dislike them as well, and apparently they're a royal PITA to assemble. I'm going to use the new Aleph Dakini bots from Coldfront as my Karakuri

i guess it depends on whether you want them to look like robots, civilians, or soldiers. Based on your decision to use Dakini, it seems like you prefer the robot angle.

I'll probably do the same, the new Dakini are bulky enought to be considered Hi-Tech robotic IP's.

Thanks everyone for the ideas so far. Some good options in there.

I think that would be a good idea, especially considering how much I like the new models, yet don't want to collect Aleph. :+1:

I bought some Clan War minis. One female playing a biwa (lute), a male courtier, and a female shugenja (sorcerer). But I also have the 3 karakuri fembots (which were a PITA to assemble). Wish I had snagged the single blister as well, but oh well.

I'm planning on getting an Oznat and the two Zerat blisters and try to paint them as robots.
