Man it must be nice to have a dev team that likes your faction. I can only hope that Varuna's new units will be just as creative. I'm going to try to stay positive here, because clearly there's a lot of cool stuff going on at CBHQ and I'm glad the cool new Tunguska things exist.
to be perfectly honest all. Im done buying, I saw GW behave this way for years and I dont think i'll fall into the same trap for PanO as I did for nids all those years ago. I'll play with what I have, its plenty to run varied lists, but ill wait to see what varuna drops before deciding if I want to continue with this game
I'm more curious about OSS at this point. I'm also compiling a long, detailed, and hopefully reasonable mail to CB. I hope that some of my arguments will make them rethink this approach.
Shame is this Tunguska release seems really creative and funny, but only for the Tunguska players. If they did this with all factions this game would rock; instead, they do this for some players and fuck other players off because reasons. You can either play "cool anime samurai" or "cool antisystem hackers who are actually bankers" and soon "cool drunk cosacks" (who i have no doubt will power creep too) but if you play some old faction/sectorial I'm sorry, but no luck for you.
For those that think this is a PanO specific issue. Compare Securiate to Morat Vanguards Compare Hollowmen to Mobile Brigada Compare Zondnautica to Aragoto This absolutely pushes the formula to a point that it has broken
A statement from CBs side, how they plan to evolve this game and the older factions could be very helpful for both CB and us.
Hell, compare Hollow Men to Su-Jian, the supposedly unique and top of the line broken IP for the IP faction.
It will be released just after that article explaining what are they planning for Yu Jing's future after they took a third of the units away.
Hey, new army getting new and cool stuff is perfectly fine. Benkei summed the real problem nicely: As a PanO player I sometimes feel like the faction design was made by someone who watched a Hunger Games movie marathon, and then was told to design a Peacekeeper army...
Obviously. Every new army need new toys (thats the main happy factor). It's just sad that a lot of "old" armies are left wanting, with half-cooked ideas, or pathetic equipment comparing to something new which happened to get designer love and was turned up to 11.
Yeah there isn't much of a reason why they shouldn't cost 14 points. Like others have said Hollowmen are just better Brigadas for less and have a cheap link filler. I'm most worried about puppets though. They just seem too tough for how little they cost especially in vanilla.
As much as I didn't watch it, afaik Peacekeepers had at least some nice bombers to perform mass bombing of opposition insurgents ?;P
Puppets are tough but on the other hand pretty limited in what they do. They don't even get close to Proxy level, and their troupe is only AVA 1. With Puppet Master being the weak link. Hollow Men are great - but also have PH 10.
