In ARO the advantages to the Jammer are pretty obvious, but I like the options that the Jammer gives versus camo markers. With an Intuitive attack they have to break Camo to reset or let you take an unopposed roll to isolate them.
The Intuitive attack against camo will be fantastic! I honestly think the jammer profile will play completely different to Mutts, and will completely change how opponents approach the rest of my camo markers. I might even throw some more camo markers into my lists in the future. I haven't come across anyone who didn't think they stacked, and didn't find any forum threads when I first bought him that suggested differently. The tears of Pan-O are extra salty at the moment!
I'm very disappointed in the jammer profile. At least the mutt's impetuousness directly counters the jammer's most effective use by forcing you to spend an order or move. On a non-impetuous model it is going to be as un-fun as Emily supported by a five man link. Yay, I have two hecklers prone in the corners of buildings or on rooftops within 8 inches of the objective. What a (not) fun puzzle for my opponent to try and figure out how to bypass. I sure hope he brought a skew list loaded with veterans just to deal with hecklers and mutts! If not he'll have to burn an entire order pool using stealth to get in a face to face roll that he might still get unlucky and lose!
Really ? There was a thread asking Full Auto with Supp Fire, only one answer confirming it does stack and absolutely no one refuted it, back then. http://infinitytheforums.com/forum/topic/50331-suppressive-fire-and-full-auto-l2/ So, not sure sure what "since day 1" means.
Well thats kinda lame about the Kriza, but I'll live. I didn't use supression a whole lot with him anyway... everything was already dead. ;-) I really like all the heckler profiles. I really like how each one is very different and presents very different threats, how you deal with a jammer under a template is very different from how you would deal with an emarat under a template. It presents a very good shell game even without other camo. I also like how well they can synergize with profiles I already like. Being able to deploy jammers that cover areas that are also covered by massai koalas creates a lot more potenial to mess up peoples' days regardless of whether they dodge or reset. I'm very curious to know what a cyber mine is? A mine that deploys a hack is IMO a weaker emauler, thought I guess it depends on the program. It could also be something weird, like a repeater the drops as a camo token or something? I love how Hecklers can say "Want 2 Cyber?" and mean it.
That Red Fury profile is straight cash. My kokoro wish (even though I know it will never happen) is that they tweak the Prowler and make it a more elite unit, since this Heckler makes him pretty much obsolete.
Yup - sad story of a Prowler. It ain't Hexa, it ain't Zero and now it ain't Heckler. At least we got a nice, cheap assault Mimetic unit.
This is a decent point. It means that midfield objectives can't be entirely covered by a Heckler. 2 Jammers is absolutely the tits for Capture and Protect or Loot and Sabotage though. But you could already build a pretty punishing obstacle field in those missions between Morans and Minelayer Zeroes.
hmmm they are kinda throwing a spanner into the works for more normal list Nomads ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 7 INTERVENTOR Hacker (Hacking Device Plus) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 42) 5 SWC | 206 Points Open in Infinity Army This is normally my core (though 2nd interventor is sometimes a KHD) I might end up dropping the Moran in vanilla in favour of a heckler, its basically trading good front line board control for an even better board control unit thats slightly further back. I believe we are hitting another Kriza/gecko/taskmaster debate of having so many options for 1 task just what minor flavour difference you want.
I completely agree, but don't think it's a spanner at all. I've been running this a bit recently. When played correctly it's a PITA for your opponent to deal with. But it suffers a bit from being a little 1 dimensional vs Ariadna and Tohaa who just lol at the repeaters and suicide a Warband or a mated trooper through the deployables. In something like Firefight I can swap out the remaining Moran for a Lunokhod for a more defensive build. For a more button pushing build I can run 2 Jammers and 2 KHD Zeros instead of a Moran, the Interventor KHD and Minelayers. They're all within 5pts of each other, so it's not hard to mix and match with ~10points available. Be grateful that we're not PanO where each of these profiles would be AVA1 in Vanilla and 2-3 in Sectorial.
It has a Jammer. (where's the :giggles maniacally: emoji?) Too bad it doesn't have Zero Gee or Multiterrain...
I actually really like that the Heckler, Zero, and Bandit each bring something unique to the table. I can make a case for all 3.
ideally that is what you want with new releases, you don't want to invalidate existing models where possible.
