I got a tournament coming up and trying to decide between Shock Army and Varuna. I've got my "primary " list made for each faction and they are quite different from each other but contain a pretty nice tool box and a TAG. However, the other list is where things get ready for some metal mashing. Triple TAG lists! For Mindwipe and Last Launch. (Excuse not using army codes, army's not working for me right now and I'm going off print outs)

    Opinions on:

    Shock Army
    Scylla EVO
    Drago
    Tiklabang
    Tiklabang
    Regular Combi LT
    Regular Combi
    Fugazi
    Fugazi
    Fugazi
    Mulebot EVO

    vs

    Varuna
    Mulebot EVO
    Fugazi
    Fugazi
    Squalo MKII NCO
    Squalo MKII HMG/GL
    Maximus LT
    Knight of Montessa "Medic"
    Fusilier FO
    Machinist
    Warcor (6th)
    Palbot

Varuna list is more order efficient, has 4 ways to destroy Servers vs just the Drago in Shock. Varuna also has Max as LT which can do a lot of fun things and is more resilient to LoL than a line trooper. Shock Army has double EVO which is awesome for Last Launch.

Purely for the memes...but which one would you choose between the two TAG lists, is there a way to still run triple tag and have better efficiency?

The Primary lists for both factions.
    Shock
    Regular LT
    Regular Combi Medic
    Regular Minelayer
    Regular Spitfire
    Regular Combi
    Teucer
    Scylla EVO
    Knight of Montessa "Medic"
    Tiklabang

    Machinist
    Buletteer
    Fugazi
    Fugazi
    Fugazi
    Warcor
    Palbot

    Varuna
    Machnist
    KamaI Sniper
    Zulu Shock Marksman
    Zulu Jammer
    Zulu Killer Hacker
    Uma Sorrensen (camo SMG)
    Knight of Montessa "medic"
    Maximus LT
    Fugazi
    Fugazi

    3x Helot SMG/LRL

I think the shock Army choice is stronger as Scylla will protect the tags.

Edit: However, the Varuna list look fun.

they do both have EVO bot, due to Last Launch pretty much requiring it. The Shock list has both Scylla and the EVO bot too tho, which means 70 "Free" points

Sorry, I was not fully clear. My thoughts are some of the best ways to protect TAGs is to kill the opponents hackers. Scylla allows you to kill hackers. The Varuna TAG list does not have the Trinity program, so I worry your Squalos will be used against you. Is there any way you could fit a Zulu KHD in the list?

If you're going into Nomads, Combined or ALEPH, you just use your other list anyway. Other factions aren't going to have the presence to stop your TAGs on both sides, and Squalos can survive shooting at each other. The lack of Engineer in the SAA army is by far the bigger concern- PanO TAGs are permanently disabled by E/M or Hackers without one.

thats an easy fix in the SAA army, just ditch the EVO bot for a machinist.

my ultimate strategy to top table in this tournament will be to just dodge the Nomad/CA/Alepha matchups
