The Yaogat link doesn't quite work cause Raktorak's are AVA2, but I agree with your points on the how flexible they make all the Core teams now.
bummer, guess Id run the Lt in that link, doesnt overly increase Its cost and fills the same role Morat Aggression Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 RAKTORAK Vulkan Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 22) RAKTORAK Vulkan Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 22) YAOGAT Lieutenant Combi Rifle + Panzerfaust / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 29) YAOGAT (Number 2) Boarding Shotgun, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 28) YAOGAT MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 34) 1.5 SWC | 135 Points Open in Infinity Army Forrest for the trees mate
It's just a shame my work PC blocks Army, or I could go to the PanO forum and post blatantly obvious link variations as well. Maybe I could post a 5-Joan link. There's 43 pages of discussions here - https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/the-third-offensive.25253/ - that already addressed what Wildcard on Raktorak means, along with many of the other changes that you're insisting we are unaware of. Maybe give it a read?
No, it's clear you have no idea what you're talking about. It's patronizing to receive listbuilding advice from someone like you.
If the only army adjustment made in the last two books were to make these morat changes, I'd very much agree. The floor has gone up virtually across the board. These additions i think are pretty fun looking, but they KINDA feel mediocre and limited when we start to look at other things added to the game. The only thing that's got me kinda peeved is TEN POINTS FOR FULL AUTO. I get it, FA2 is really good. BUT TEN POINTS. ON A MODEL THAT IS ALREADY HUGELY EXPENSIVE. Also 29 point oznat sync is trash. Or at least I can't imagine taking it, and I hope someone can help me see the light. Its a lot of points for a huge liability. Ok got that out. I'm excited to try raktorak finally. FINALLY. Raktorak have more than one place in MAF. Also I finally feel kornak isn't so autoinclude as before. This is really good. Characters showing up in every list is boring. The rest looks pretty exciting, but really, let's look at the other new hotness added to the game. It is a bit underwhelming tbh. Not crappy. Just... Not as shiny as basically every single other link option which basically every faction also got that is basically better than the morat version.
Really looking forward to your analysis of the update, as your MAF overview helped me a lot in the early stages of the game.
@derbrizon I mean, certain things about the update strike me as boneheaded, but the Oznat camo-flusher seems like the best thing from it. Very good for what it does.
I had hoped for some like this Oznat, but it seems too expensive. Sensor is very good bonus for Morats, but profile costs more than Oznat + Preta + sensor should, right? And you do not get Pretas 2 orders. Some benefit for synced Preta, but also some benefit for normal Preta and Oznat. For 1 point less get 4 Pretas. For 1 point more get Oznat and full Gaki Freteam. Seems like Oznat+Preta should cost more like 25 points? It is very neat profile though., Wish cheaper.
His point is still easy to understand. This is still an interesting link to run: Morat Aggression Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 YAOGAT MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 34) YAOGAT Combi Rifle + Panzerfaust / Pistol, CCW. (0.5 | 29) YAOGAT Combi Rifle + Panzerfaust / Pistol, CCW. (0.5 | 29) RAKTORAK (NCO) Vulkan Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) RAKTORAK (NCO) Vulkan Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) 2.5 SWC | 140 Points Open in Infinity Army Another interesting option: Morat Aggression Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 SURYAT HMG / Pistol, CCW. (2 | 44) SURYAT Heavy Rocket Launcher, Light Shotgun / Pistol, CCW. (2 | 39) KORNAK Lieutenant Mk12, Light Flamethrower / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 41) RAKTORAK (NCO) Vulkan Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) RAKTORAK (NCO) Vulkan Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) 4 SWC | 172 Points Open in Infinity Army The big advantage of Raktoraks is that they provide two specialists to fireteams that would otherwise have zero specialists. THIS IS HUGE! The limited number of specialists is one the main weaknesses of the MAF. The NCO order could be use for move-move orders but is much more limited in use when stuck on the shotgun profile. Still, I think this is a very nice addition to the MAF. However, I still think the best option is a Vanguard + Suryat link team: Morat Aggression Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 SURYAT HMG / Pistol, CCW. (2 | 44) MORAT (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) MORAT (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) MORAT (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) RAKTORAK (NCO) Vulkan Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) 2 SWC | 113 Points Open in Infinity Army A pretty effective link for its cost and leaves room for a haris team as well. The Raktoral wildcard means every fireteam can have a shotgun! Of course, if you don't think NCO is worth the points you can save some points with the 22 point shotgun or take the Combi+heavy flamer for 23 points.
That sensor + synced DTW combo most likely will end up being highly meta dependant, at least from what I can see ATM. In a very camo light meta, it might not be all that great, but in my local Ariadna-filled meta... yeah, you start to learn the value of sensor sweeps rather rapidly.
too bad it's on an impetuous platform. Also the fact that preta is g:synced instead of just accompanying the oznat...so indeed really situational. IMO you can cheapen that link by 4 points, switching to 22pt Raktorak profile, as you're running a Kornak LT. or at least one, if you're thinking that Kornak will bite the dust quite quick.
Honestly, I think its worth the points. Burst 3 Fuberbach without having to spend points an expensive haris is really powerful. Yes, I do think its worth 67 points. Also, has anyone else notice Sogarat now have Bioimmunity. I guess that good? lol Yeah, thinking about it more the NCO option probably isn't with it. But its something I'd want to test before I can get a real sense of its value.
Is that sensor oznat really that good? I just started out Morat (Bad timing i guess?) and currently i it looks super expensive for what it does. I'd rather pick up a M-Drone + a R-Drone. That costs 4 points less. It also allows me to cover more ground because i have two models. they are also not impetious. And while deploying a sniffer with the R-drone might not be the most order efficient thing ever both dronebots also generate 2 orders instead of 1. Maybe i'm just too used to those remotes because i throw fugazis at everything in PanO.
Yes meta depends very much, but just for Sensor we have M + R Drone for 25 points already (and gives two orders, but does need TAG or hacker). Oznat+Preta does job different, but still seems too expensive. Maybe not much too expensive, but should be 25-26? Maybe I am wrong. Otherwise like it.
The Oznat senor is expensive but keep in mind how powerful G:Sync is, you basically are getting sensor on a Auxilia unit that can also lay down smoke. Its feels a bit overcost but with all the Camo spam in the game now, I can see it being useful. Keep in mind, the Oznat and Peta can both attack the same unit in melee, giving the Oznat burst 2 on a CC attack. She has a DA CCW. Thats powerful. Its also an option for generic Combine Army. Something to consider depending on your meta. Its not an auto-include but I can certainly see it being useful vs TAK, for example.
You don't take an Oznat sensor instead of an M drone, you take her along with an M drone. Unless your Ariadna opponent doesn't always immediately murder your M drone every game I guess. Mine do. Mine do...
