I was watching a game recently at the club near me, Aleph vs Druze. One of the things that caused the Aleph player issues was hacking. The Druze player was able to use deployable repeaters to create a zone where remotes, HI, and such were vulnerable to hacking attacks. I don't want to make a whole list that is just preventing hacking, but I would like to make sure my lists don't crumble in the face of hacking either. Any tips or suggestions? I was thinking maybe a Dasyu hacker with killer, and one unit with repeater? Honestly I am not sure about it.
Naga KHD. As good as any naga for fighting duties (he got mines contrary to the dasyu KHD), specialist, and not that expensive. And as an infiltrator, he has a marker state, a surprise effect (your opponent knows he's a naga, but not what kind of naga) and should start close to said repeaters. Or you take Dart and you hunt them old style. Hey, you even have a bow !
I am an Aleph and Nomad player. I have been in a similar situation like the one you describe. One of the things that I like the mnost about this game is that you can afford difficulties in a large range of approaches, depending on you own way of playing. The solution that I can give you probably is so different than the one someone else will give you. To face that situation, as I usually play a couple of TO (1 dasyus and the Mk2, that I use to play qith the MSR), or a Garuda Spitfire, I would try to put one of those pieces in LOF with the enemy hacker and kiil him. If the enemy hacker is prone in a terrace, then destroy the repeaters, solved. Or use the repeaters against his hacker with a KHD.
The problem with KHD is when the opponent has more KHD than you - if you enter the zone, you'll be targeted by more KHD than you can manage (even HD/EVO/HD+ with brainblast on top of a KHD are a threat). That's when the good old way of killing them with standard weapons wielded by a non hackable miniature works :) If your opponent is used to put his mini prone on a roof you have 2 solutions: 1. ekdromoi (and Diomedes). They have superjump. 2. find a higher roof. MK.2, dasyu and naga snipers can easily do that, but remember we have several climbing+ remotes that can do the job too. Sadly garudas don't have superjump.
Step 1: have tools to remove stops from your path Step 2: select them and use them. This is harder in "elite" factions, but doable. So using units like the Krakot, Myrmidons or Thorakitai are cheap ways to do so. If you play Vedic, the CSU and Authorized Bounty Hunters cover this role, while the greeks scoff at this things, thanks to their AM grantig them Stealth.
That's only really a problem for your hackers though. If the issue is taking out an HD or AHD that is targeting your remotes and HI I'd personally be fine with the sacrifice. Also worth noting that you can split burst..
