    So, 9 Camo markers, two TR Remotes, and a potential for a metric f-tonne of mine placement. The biggest challenge, apart from not automatically losing the minute that your opponent realizes what's going on, is whether to dump mines or coordinate-camo your troops. Be careful where you place the Yaozao!

    So I think this is a bit less dumb than the previous list, but it's still on the same theme. I would've preferred to have had a Hacker Kanren or maybe even Tiger, but I think the Kanren FO can do some funny stuff. One hidden HMG, two hidden Ninjas, three Sun Tze inexplicably infiltrated up the board and 10 camouflage markers.

    Did you know that Zhanshi are the best hackers in game when you give them Tinbot B and really clump them together? Pile them Hacking AROs on. Pile them on! Failing that, put Assisted Fire on everything in the second group.

    These are HIGHLY AMUSING, especially Zhanshi Bestshi. That might even be playable with mild tweaks, like actually including an Lt. :D

    Wonder if Knauf's list can be taken to eleven by transforming it to 4x Louies and still be accused of being semi-serious.

    I see that Badlazzor has built a very characterful list. Hopefully we'll get a Zhanshi Dire Foe to expand that list :) You know, Krit (well... an engineer at least) + Lei + Panggo in the same link is something of a Kamau's worst nightmare. You might need to deal with Helots, but peeking out with the Panggo to bait the ARO and then shooting with a Cored Lei ought to deal with the Kamau as a threat without the Panggo getting unsalvageable, so that list might just work...

    Serious question, why is that camo list bad? Everything stays safe in marker state or on top of buildings, surprise shot/assisted fire Husongs/coordinated DEPs deal with AROs, and you've got a ton of infiltrated specialists. And mines will be everywhere! I actually really like that list!

    Honestly, I just wanted to put in the Shang Ji core, and didn't put that much of a though in the rest of the list. I'm curious what you guys would create around this unit's fireteam and how you would optimize it (having a Haidao somewhere could surely help, but I intentionally left him on the sidelines).

    @Paegis my experience with Zhencha informs me that a list that relies on them too much will find itself out-gunned. It's mostly the fact that Daoying are terribly expensive snipers, tbh.

    @Tibooper considering how the sectorial is constructed, I'd expect a Son-Bae or Panggo in there to reduce cost at least slightly. I don't actually think they playtested using all-Shangers.

    Ah yes but I wasn't going for Mercs. More a Bounty Hunter themed list and you can't do that as much with Vanilla. Besides, I like the 3 Husong!

    On a serious note, you can shift things around a bit to fit a couple of Zhencha in there and I think it will increase the potential of the list significantly. The list I have above is a bastardization on the Sat-Lock type of meme list, and what it's really missing are suppression pieces. Yes, it's got a Husong and yes the Rui Shi is actually a decent long range fighter once buffed, but a lot will depend on getting a Weibing (or Chaiyi) across the table so you can Sat-Lock a target or do a half-suicidal Triangulated Observer with a Weibing to be able to lob smart missiles at hard targets or groups of targets.

    The list really, really, needs a deployment zone that you can hide a lot of remotes in. Even semi-open tables will see enemy HMGs have a field day during your reactive turn and I don't think it's got enough punch to clear out enough enemies in one single turn.

    So most of the lists I see here are made as more of a themed joke or to poke fun at things. I think I have a fairly different take on the purpose of a meme list. When I design a meme list it's to either test something conceptual I'm looking at exploring the viability of, or to play an unexpected list using off meta units/compositions to surprise the opposition. In the case of the latter that's why I like making use of guided missile lists, they're uncommon and people make unforced errors against them. In the case of the former it's for when I'm exploring concepts like leveraging duos in vanilla. The following list is an example of that, trying to build something that can attack with a rambo model whilst also moving a specialist into position to activate an objective, something like Supremacy. You can attack, put a large chunk of points into a zone and also maneuver for a console at the same time.

    When I build a "meme" list, I sometimes play them as a learning opportunity - sometimes because I like themes (though in the latter case I sort of have to identify a theme I feel work first). Above all else, themed lists are a way to force myself to move out of my comfort zone and actually use tools that I don't typically would gravitate from - for example in O-12 when I made a list specifically designed to force me to use Red Fury Sirius. I still ended up not using those two Red Sirius much beyond what an FO Sirius wouldn't manage, but the fact that I left myself with few options for longer-ranged pieces was the point of the list.

    What I read when I read your list is the "low-SWC" meme that I remember from Japanese Sectorial Army. Essentially, the list is a typical Infinity list with troop elements from all over the place, but only one SWC weapon. I would personally have expected a Spitfire Tiger or Louie from that list if I was facing it, even though the points made no sense as soon as the Zhencha revealed itself, but I can see the value of playing it with the goal of learning to respect combi rifles or to stop relying so much on Rui Shi.

    Similarly with the Stomp Stomp up there. It's a list that I would honestly run, and most recently I ran one fairly successfully that had 3 S5, it teaches you the value of how building tall makes position be more critical than ever. Unfortunately, it also has a tendency to teach you that a Yan Huo is actually kind of squishy for such a large model (but I managed to get it back on its feet - Hero Yisheng, never, ever, field an army without one).
    And as far as the REM list I posted above is concerned, I'm becoming obsessed with bringing it to a small tournament this Saturday - with a few small modifications - because it's offering a very alternate way of playing IA. Hopefully I'll get lucky with tables so that it can actually be fielded - and that's not a given.

    Am I doing this right? a full STR list (well maybe the Guijia has some fleshy bits, but you can count with the pilot not surviving long). One can only hope for a REM engineer to complete this.

    Sorta, the low SWC lists pre uprising tended to have big investments in power hitting low/no SWC units like Oniwabans. You didn't need a big ass gun to put down HI when Kitsune was popping out and cutting them in half. This list on the other hand is running low on SWC partially because the investments are being targeted to adapt to the mission dynamics like Sun Tze for durable scoring, and because of the local meta's policy on terrain.

    Our area plays very terrain heavy and this is partially on the back of a point that was made by Bostria on FB. The terrain set up shown in the N3 book is the bare minimum required to make the game function. The ideal table is in fact much more terrain dense than what is depicted in the rule book. The idea behind that choice is supposedly to make the game appear as accessible as possible, particularly to new players. They don't want them being overwhelmed with the immediate need to collect a massive terrain collection.

    Which is something I can understand. This table cost me more than 1k dollarydoos alone.

    But back to the point, there tends to fewer long fire lanes and more places to tuck into and hide and this means there is a considerable amount of close range firefights under the 16" and 8" bands. When it comes to clearing out skirmishers particularly the camo variety troops armed with Spitfires and HMGs are often at a disadvantage in zone domination missions because of the tight quarters. Spending 50+ points on a Daofei that rolls on 7s trying to clear out a shitty Hardcase who's firing back on an 11s or 14s with a shotgun feels really bad. In the same vein the Rui Shi while an excellent unit statwise can be very cumbersome and unweildy in these environments, struggling to vault terrain, unable to clear rooftops or get up narrow stair cases. It's a very different experience to use remotes on terrain heavy tables versus the more open clean tables depicted in the rule book.

    If you wanted more SWC expenditure because it suits your types of table or your preference more the list is fairly flexible. You could drop Sun Tze down the shotgun version and exchange the Tiger for a Spitfire for example.
