So, with the new Morat design coming out, I’ve been having old inspirations coming back to me.

I always attributed Shasvastii to being similar to The Predator aliens. From the mandibles to profiles like Caliban that have camo/msv/cc ability. However, lore wise it’s a bit weaker. Focused on survival, they can come across a bit cowardly by comparison.

while the aesthetics and skills aren’t always present, the lore of the Morats seems much closer to the Yautja. Tribal warrior/hunters. Strong physically. Religious devotion to their code of honor and glory. Even aspects like the hungeries resemblance to Xenomorphs. Even though there is a complete lack of camo, I find myself connecting more to Morats in this way. And now we are even getting units like the Kyosot with mim -3 and msv1 option. Maybe this is weird. Just throwing out random stuff with my late night brain thoughts.

Have any of you all had similar thoughts?

Aren't Zerats (or at least Treitak Anyat) capable of "Camo / Mimetics". . .??

Maybe I'm misremembering about older editions or the N2 / N3 "Special Forces Customizable Trooper". . .

It is a lot that I have lost any interest in the Wargame Stats (no more Community of Players in My parts) and care only for the Marvelous Universe Background of Infinity, related to RPG and Comics. . .

I dig totally the new Aesthethics of the Morats though (as I liked a lot the "Divergent Shaasvastii" of the Jayths, muscular miners and brutal fighters, at least compared to the usual "Slim Salamander Men Skulking In Shadows"). . .

I was thinking mainly of marker camo. But yes there are a few mim-3/-6 profiles. And I always thought of those units that way. But the camo markers felt more akin to the active camo used by Yautja.

I really liked the Shasvastii redesign. Besides the old noctifer I didn’t like them much. But the newer ones are wicked.
And What I’ve seen of the new Morats I have nothing but good things to say. I can’t wait to see how the rest turn out.

One critique, the new Morat Vanguard forearm to wrist to hand taper looks off. Too meaty?
The Edge of Tomorrow power suit looks interesting.

New Shasvastii sculpts are grand. Hope the new Fire Team rules allow for less overtuning, allowing Nox and Seed teams a better chance.

Hunting is a big part of Morat culture. Probably the sole reason we don't have Morat camo isn't that Morats don't have that technology and practice using it, but instead that what we see in Infinity are MAF forces as part of the Combined Army, where those duties were entirely given to Shasvatii. Almost certainly Morat combat doctrine includes camouflage and stealth operations. We've just never seen it because the Morats in this combat operations sphere aren't assigned those tasks since other specialists are available.

Specifically, Oznats are master hunters. Likely the best Hunters in the setting. We know from descriptions that they use camouflage in their hunts.

Thank you for that perspective. That makes a lot of sense.
