    Hi all!

New player here! As an exercice for list-making, I came up with this first batch. For this purpose, I assumed the hacking capacities of the faction would prove useful, and from there I tried to compose something that would provide orders, pack a punch, have some specialists and be able to react to infiltrations.

What do you think, what did I miss and what would you change?

Two groups with only 12 orders without Puppetmaster is a bad idea. If you go first, you will loose 2 orders from the main or all orders in the second group.
3 specialist, one in your defensive link and the other two with short range weapons are in my opinion too few.
Overall, I can't see what you want to do, with this, list.

But the best advice I can give to you: play with your list and you will see where your problems are. You will have at the beginning many WTF moments, but that's the easiest way to learn the game

Ok first: Group composition. Place the Grenzers and Securitates in the same group, in case you need to refill the group. Having a Securitate alone is much better than a Grenzer, since the Grenzer Sniper can be part of the Securitate Fireteam (so, 3 Securitates + 2 Grenzers in the Fireteam, and leave the Paramedic out to "recover" the casualties). You will then have 3-4 pts to improve some loadouts, for example.

The lunokhod is a little complicated to play. You might prefer to change it for 3 more 8 points orders (2 baggage, 1 transductor) and place the Hollow Man on group 2 with the 4 cheerleaders (so you would go 9/5 orders). This way you can move the hollow and give Pitchers to Mary and the Interventor without leeching the Kriza, and by havving a baggage close by you can start firing 3 pitchers, reloading, and moving the hollow (or fire 2 pitchers, use an order to move the baggage and refill the HM, then move + fire the HM twice more). If you plan the movement, it can be easy to set so the HM moves from side to side of the table, ends at 10cm of the bagagge, gets a refill and moves to the front.

Thanks for the advice ! In my second order pool, I placed stuff I did not necessarily intend to activate that often, considering they'd only have 2 orders -- an ARO sniper and a repeater. Then the securitate + ML form a Core, and the Hollow Men + Kriza form a DUO until they're in position to do the damage.
The Lunokhod was an answer against infiltrators, and Mary and the Interventor speak for themselves.

Considering the sniper Grenzer is an ARO piece, do I want him moving along the board as part of the fireteam?
Ben Kenobi's post implies that fireteam is a defensive one, maybe I misunderstood its optimal use, as I thought of them as midfield board control.
PS: just realised that such a team would have B2 AROs on ML and multi sniper, which I assume is the nuts. I think I got it.

That makes a lot of sense! I incorporated that into the list and switched the unlinked Securitate for a Daktari, here's the result:

I'm a pretty new player, but that second list looks a lot better to me.

Since you have three points, give your Doctor a Zondbot.

I'd also consider making the Interventor your LT.

You can get a lot of use out of your LT order when it is on an HD+. You can use it to White Noise, buff a bot with Enhanced Reaction or Assisted Fire, put up Fairy Dust for your Kriza, etc.

You don't have an attack bot in the list, which is fine, but Enhanced Reaction on a Transducer makes a pretty mean ARO piece for the 8 points and a free LT order.

That gives you a Burst 2 Flash Pulse with WIP 13 and a +3 band from 8-24. That is not something to sneeze at. Plus the Transducer has Mimetism. Give it Cover and you are probably looking at B2 on 13 (+3 Range/-3 Cover) while imposing a -6 on the attacker (-3 Mimetism/-3 Cover).

That's a pretty darn good matchup for the cheap little Transducer.

Be aware that "hacking assasination" means it might be possible for the interventor to have to spend that Lt order in using Cybermask, aside from that, consider that the Lt is obvious among the Securitate (the only ine with baseline profile), in that regard it might be better to have 3 basic securitates, releasing 5 points to potentially play with if desired.

Question: how good is it to have multi sniper AND ML Grenzers as part of the fireteam? Is it going to significantly improve my defensive capabilities, or is this something that's likely to not make an impact on the game?

It all depends on what you want to do with them. Since they'll be in the same link team (I assume), the biggest reason to take both is to put them next to each other to stack AROs. It will make a single position very hard to get by, but it's also dedicating a lot of points to units that may not be very mobile. Personally, I'd stick with the missile launcher grenzer and convert the multi-sniper into a Securitate HMG or Feurbach to give the link so active turn potency.

The only other small thing that sticks out to me is what is the role of the hollowman here? He's going to have 5 orders at 6-4 MOV, but he has to get within 16 inches to do anything. If you want him to be throwing pitchers around primarily, I might consider subbing in a Heckler with FastPanda.

In my mind, I was creating two defensive positions from nearby points at a different angle, but I haven't observed that many games where this tactic is successfully used. Also...

... the hollow man was supposed to be my backup threat if the Kriza didn't make it, on top of his pitchers. Should I switch to an HMG in the Fireteam, I wouldn't need the firepower, so why not a heckler indeed.

I worried about that for a long while, but I got over it.

My view of the whole obvious LT hacking target thing is “COME AT ME BRA!”

Even with just the Interventor, the odds of surviving that attack are pretty damn good. And I usually take a KHD or two on top.

I figure, go ahead and spend the Orders. I have a better chance of sucker punching you to death, after you waste time getting into position, than you have of killing me. If it happens, it happens. But I’ve seen it wind up being an order sink that gets an annoying model killed in my Reactive turn.

Sure, but the provided list has a single hacker, the Interventor :)

I think it's more viable in TJC than we might think, since even if he goes into LoL there are still regular orders to throw around from all the Securitate. Even a Dasyus KH only has like a 40% chance to down an Interventor any single order

40%? Try 15% with Breakwater, or 20% if you Suckerpunch and have a 40% chance of wounding the Dasyu.

The situation gets a little more dicey if you figure in no firewall -and- add surprise shot.

But if you’ve managed to get a surprise shot through your own repeater, well, that was probably an order sink, all for less than even odds of accomplishing anything.

Actually no, Mary Problems is on that list, sporting both a KHD and an AHD.

So, I used this list for a firefight mission and it worked pretty well. I had the Spec-Ops as a Grenzer to hide him in the fireteam.

As always, curious to hear your thoughts on it!
