Hey all, bit of an inexperienced player here, I was hoping to get some pointers with this list I've concocted. I don't think I can export lists from the army builder yet so here is a link to the list. https://infinitytheuniverse.com/arm...RAQYAAgUAhdEBBQAAhc8BAgAADwECAAAlAQEAAIXjAQEA
not to sure that link works agl3aW50ZXJmb3IJV2ludGVyZm9ygSwCAQcAAQEBAAABAQgAAAEBAgAAAQEJAAAFAQEAAIXMAQMAAIXRAQYAAgUAhdEBBQAAhc8BAgAADwECAAAlAQEAAIXjAQEA
Links in general are garbage right now. Too many bugs in the army that lists often don’t load right. that said, it you have a linked karhu i think you are good to go.
Hey there! Welcome to the Hyperpower. There's a lot of great stuff in Svalarheima, and you are pulling in some good elements, but leaning too hard into things which are negatively impacting on your build. First things first, that's either one too many orders or five too few (well, maybe four too few). Build wise you should be aiming for either a single group of 10 (which is likely to be able to avoid having two orders stripped via Command Token in the next ITS season, as it does in this one) or 15 orders. You certainly should not be splitting your "main group" to anything less than 10 orders. That kind of build might work for a very midfield heavy force like Ariadna, or some Nomad and Yu Jing builds (Shasvastii too and sometimes even Haqq) but you certainly can't get away with it with Svalarheima. You DO NOT have the luxury of putting less than 10 orders behind the very best gun you can muster, because if you fail to clear enemy AROs with raw firepower this sectorial has NOTHING else to lean into. I'll assume that you are playing with what you've got here, this looks like Icestorm + Kaldstrom turned into a list, right? Basically what we've got here is too any points put into a handful of key pieces which aren't backed up as well as they need to be. You want a Knight of Justice in your Core Fireteam to stack maximum bonus and burst onto your best shooter. And you probably want to turn the forward deploying Knight into a Hospitaller instead (cheaper and better in the role). If you don't have Remotes yet you should look at picking up a couple of boxes, because a pair of Fugazi and a Pathfinder are worth their weight in gold to any PanOceania list. They are cheap orders, good AROs and the latter is a great fast light specialist. If you really want to run the Infirmarer then you should also put it into the Core, or give it a PalBot so that it actually becomes effective in CC. Personally I'd use it as a Hospitaller Dr with Multi Rifle, give it a PalBot and run it as a strong "all comers" specialist option. Or I'd simply use it as a Trauma Doc. Me? I wouldn't use the Boyg at all. But as an ARO turret with a Missile it's not terrible. It needs backup in the role 'though, and a couple of Fugazi will be the best place to start there. Look into picking up a Peacemaker too, they are amazing now especially for Svalarheima with their lack of midfield options. The ORC you should either ditch completely, or upgrade it to an HMG and run it in the Core as your main gunfighter. The ORC in the Core is likely better in the role than a Knight of Justice in any case. Long story short, drop one or more of the HI chewing up your points, build your Core a little better, and re-set your groups to give your best gun 10 orders. Look into picking up some Remotes and maybe swap around the options for your specialists. There's good stuff here, but you aren't getting the best use out of it with this list structure.
Thanks for the super advice there, sorry it took me so long to respond. Did a retooling with 10 orders in mind agl3aW50ZXJmb3IAgSwBAQoBAQEIAAIBAQkAA4XPAQIABAUBAwAFhdEBBQAGhcwBAgAHAwEDAAgGAQkACQYBCQAKhc0BBAA=
I don’t think the 10 orders thing is actually happening in this season. I wouldn’t split combat groups into such small numbers though. This is a retool I did, trying to keep the spirit of the list, but I managed to get to 14 orders. agl3aW50ZXJmb3IJV2ludGVyZm9ygSwCAQgBhdEBAQACBQEDAAOFzQEDAAQBAQgABQEBCQAGAQEBAAeFzAEDAAgTAQEAAgYBhdEBBQAChc8BAgADDwECAAQTAQEABRMBAQAGJgEBAA== Personally I don’t like the Nokk hacker, because it doesn’t have a marker state to keep it safe during the first turn if you go second. It’s also worth keeping in mind that the WIP of your LT is open information, so having a KoJ LT (WIP13) with fusilier and ORC LT clones (WIP12) won’t actually hide your LT.
