He there! Still relatively new to Infinity, started ~2 ears ago and have been a PanO player since then. Now, I am really getting to like DBS as a smaller secondary force to collect and play. Now my question: Why is DBS not able to field Knauf, Miranda Ashcroft, Cube Jager, Aida Swanson.. I mean we already have a limited range of units, so why the further restriction? s.
Welcome to the forum! From a background point of view, they're so vicious that a lot of other mercenaries won't work for them.
Seems like we are in the timeline after Knauf stopped working for DBS and started killing them instead. Good question about the other mercs. I'd want them to have Yuan Yuan and Krakots as well, but I guess DBS aren't really involved in Paradiso (not sure) so they aren't around Krakots and if they had Yuan Yuans it would step on Ikari toes. They are supposed to be the bad people, so I'm guessing Miranda doesn't want to ruin her image by working with them. Sounds like Aida should be working with them though.
The Druze Bayram Security list is designed to recreate the antagonist forces in the Outrage Manga. This naturally limits the forces available to it though there has been some recruitment since the story ended like Saito, Hunzakuts, and Bashis. Consisting Knauf was a co-protagonist he's extremely unlikely to show up!
I just wan't some S5, if I could choose Al Fasid , to go with them. Or Kum bikers... I mean, those are basically crminals allready... anyways, druze are bad, some mercs care about their reputation yadda yadda yadda
It's worth noting that DBS isn't necessarily representative of the whole Druze Mercenary PMC, it is only the forces of the Canavasary that was featured in the Outrage Manga. It is clear that Druze will work with a lot of other mercs in QK and Ikari. Maybe one day we will see an expanded Druze Sectorial, or Faction... probably unlikely though.
It's mercs on hardmode, everything else is a crutch. This is bare bones bad assery for the stone cold killers.
If I was going to wishlist one unit it would be streloks... ... Oh no, I don't have a fluff reason to justify it, but ambush camo decoy tokens mixed with hunzakuts, more midfield presence, and coordinated order mine-laying sounds like the funniest thing to watch an opponent jump through ever ... the added objective scoring ability and shenanigans would also cement our differences from Ikari, but that would all be too good to grant us lol Edit: also, they fit our scary masked trooper aesthetic. Who wants a scary skull trooper?
I'd just like a Heavy Infantry option! Question is which existing HI would fit the bill? Ikari have Wu Ming and Al Fasid locked in, and StarCo have Mobil Brigada and Riot Grrls (I'm ignoring JSA). Janissaires perhaps? Something entirely new? :D
Al Fasid make the most sense even though it's in Ikari. It would provide a hell of a lot of utility too. I really wanted a generic Ramhorn TAG that didn't come with an engineer, and has fewer weapon options than Scarface, but we got the Anaconda instead. My feeling is that no HI is a deliberate limitation from CB for this faction, instead we get cheap TAGs to fill that role.
After what the Druze have done on Ariadna, I don't think any "native" Ariadnian would willingly work with them.
Oh right, totally forgot about that, when suggesting the Wulvers. Maybe they get there hands on some Rudras, to make up for the HI. That would be absolutely dreamy!!!
It'd be nice to have a good Doctor option like Avicenna and I like the idea of a generic Ramhorn TAG pilot, less tooled up maybe but with a couple options. as far as heavy infantry i think Azra'il would make a better fit fluff wise as they are deposed sultanate guards, some of them have got to be pissed off enough to leave for some sweet, sweet merc money.
Druze are also exceedingly wealthy. Even with Jethro's network being significantly impacted by events in outrage, I think they're still rolling in money. I'm struggling to imagine the reasons some of Mercs in the universe would have to say no to overflowing pots of gold. Especially the alien ones. Balance issues though, sure. DBS is surprisingly strong. Limited flexibility is part of the design space I guess.
