I’ve finally started painting figures specifically for Dahshat. For me, I think of Dahshat as a special Banner of Yu Jing. They represent Western China and one of the four Chinese constellations and spirits, the White Tiger Bay Hu. I’m thinking My IA may be the Dragon of the East, and ISS the Black Turtle/Serpent of the North, and for now, General is the Phoenix of the South. I’ve got 3 ABH (2nd edition Zhanshi) done. I’ve done them in different colors because i feel ABH would be different from the rest of the force. Also, they are used in several of my forces. Then 2 Zuyong HMG (1st edition Invisibles). I love I have an opportunity to reuse old figs! Since it’s the White Tigers of the West I’m going with White and Grey colors. Next up is a Zuyong combo and Bash Bozuk (1st ed. Tiger Soldier)
Sounds like a neat idea. It is sometimes hard using older sculpts when they've been replaced by better/newer sculpts. Good job on using this over the hill minis and giving them a job to fulfill.
Thanks. I think of it this way too, even if it was regular Dahshast Mercs, they are not going to have the latest and greatest YJ armor. That stuff is probably not even sold. So once a YJ troops leaves YJ to join Dahshat, they are getting a downgraded but serviceable armor.
