i have a a couple of scenrios and I wanted to check if my understanding was correct.

    1) I have a hacking device plus hacker and a non-hackable model moves in my repeater range. Can I put down a White Noise Zone? I’m thinking yes and the zone can go anywhere in my hacking area as normal. It will not create a face to face roll if the model decides to shoot my hacker.

    2) same as first but the troop is hackable.

    Same answer from me.

Is this correct? (Assume that stealth etc do not apply in the examples since those would prevent ARO entirely. )

Since there are no requirements for the White Noise program, it looks like the answer to both of your questions is "yes". All you need is an ARO opportunity.

Yes, you can respond even to non-hackable things activating near your repeaters, however this ARO can only be used either to hack or to respond to an enemy hack.

So White Noise can be used when a non-hackable thing activates, since it doesn't target the enemy in any way it will never be face to face, and it can be placed anywhere in your hacking area as usual if you pass the roll, it needn't be centered on the active enemy.

Handy I will have to remember that when I get my Interventors on the table.

Could be a handy way to preempt smoke trick attacks if I position my repeaters correctly.

Be carefull when facing Aleph, now that they have 3 units able to place repeaters on the table (Tamiris the Joke, and Danavas with AVA 2). I say this because it wouldn't be the first time I place a White Noise template after the Intruder fires (granted, it was a very risky proposition since my Asura chose to White Noise instead of answer fire, but the Intruder had other 4 ARO pieces to worry about, one of them my trusty Mk4 HRL, the rest being Dakinis; not a smart move on his part, yeah... and I placed the White Noise on the Mk4, thanks to a 8pts repeater remote).

The fun that poses itself in Transmission Matrix just got even more silly.

Remember that due to NFB you can only have 1 active White Noise Zone at a time. It limits the ability for complete shenanigans.

    Per hacker+.

Danavas are AVA2, same as Asuras and same as Interventors. If I wanna drop nearly 200 points into it, I can drop 4 White Noise zones (what for, I have no idea XD) with Aleph.
