Just a quick question that came to my mind. If you target the side wall of an 8" building and you're shooting from the side. Can you choose the point where you wanna hit the wall or do you have to target the shortest possible point? I'm asking for rangeband optimisation.
I'm not sure this is really covered by the rules When you shoot a trooper, you can target any point of his silhouette so I would say it's the same when targeting a scenery : you can target any part of it May I ask why you shoot this poor wall ?
I guess he is playing with the advanced rules and want to use antimaterial in order to make a narrow access on the wall. I bet in order to calculate the range bands of weapons we should take the entyre object as a unit. Same as the miniatures. If the wall or the object has multiparts probably you should talk with your rival/mate before the game begins how to resolve it and determine the various segments.
Sure, I like the idea of shooting the wall of "The armory" with a linked YanHuo Missile Launcher and it might be hard to stay out of the 24" if I have to shoot at the shortest distance.
Seems to me you need to target the point you want the access to be placed, since Destroyed says “point of impact”: If it was a Construction Scenery Item (Wall, Partition...) on its own or as part of a Scenery Building, place a Narrow Gate Marker (NARROW GATE) on the point of impact.
Oh, so you cannot just remove the entire wall from the objective room? Thats a shame, but good to know, thank you.
Well, at least not with one order. Many narrow gates next to each other... ...may make a building of infinite height crumble. Oh, wait, does it take the building infinite time to do so?
You can't remove walls at all, and you can only make a single Narrow Access because the wall can only enter Destroyed state once.
Rather "can I have LoS / shoot through that?" or is it just for walking through the wall? Do I use a silhouette as a "window / door opening" for size and checking LoS / cover of models inside? Basically, does that mean I'm creating an actual S2 hole in the wall or is it just a "you can ghost through the wall with an S2 trooper here", but no LoS is given into the interior of the building?
See Destroyed state: If it was a Construction Scenery Item (Wall, Partition...) on its own or as part of a Scenery Building, place a Narrow Gate Marker (NARROW GATE) on the point of impact. LoF can never be drawn through Narrow Access points created by the Destroyed state.
