New player -COOL. I like to buy tohaa then. Me -... Well.. New player - Where can i buy them? Me -Well...
It heavily depends on where you are from. If you're from Germany, send me a message and I'll give you some links and recommendations. Can't speak for other countries, but it's usually worthwhile perusing through game stores (once they're open again).
Well. Problem is if there is tohaa, it has to be sold in the Web site. Or there must be an explanation like 'coming soon' or else. Anyways i Will be glad to hear a german online brand. Through laughing Jack i bought alot.
Non-Spiral Tohaa are unfortunately out of production as part of CB's rotating catalogue. I know they were originally going to note in the Army Builder when factions went OOP, maybe something to log in the bugs thread. The rules are there so that people that have the models, or can find them, are still able to play the factions they collected, but for new players looking to start Tohaa I'd usually recommend Spiral Corps as it's in active production and prefectly playable without any of the human merc troopers.
Yep. But i dont know what to say. If i say 'Ok play spiral' it is not solving the situation at all. Forexample if the clear answer is tohaa models Will not be sold any more. Then i can tell People about it. But we have no information. Logic says if there is an army to play there must be models for that. If CB doesnt want to continue tohaa anymore, hurting but Best way is to eliminate tohaa from everywhere.
You can always proxy the missing troop profiles or convert the existing tohaa and sprial troopers to be the missing profiles. And to get rid of tohaa as playable faction would be a puch in the face for everyone who has a collection of tohaa models. So I guess the way with tohaa and all the legacy armies is logically the right thing to do. Maybe the legacy armies could be marked in the army app to make it more obvious for newcomers.
Except we do, they've said repeatedly that the models are no longer available and are not being made or sold, the rules have been kept to support existing players. This isn't community speculation, it's direct from CB themselves every time they've retired a model line from production and during Q&A sessions and interviews, and during the Spiral Corps & N4 preview videos. Non-Spiral Tohaa, FRRM, CHA, NCA, QK, SAA, and the Steel Phallus have all been removed from sale and production, that is the final clear answer. There is always the possibility of bringing them back in the future for a Shasvastii style revamp, but this has not been confirmed for any of the listed factions yet.
I have to agree with @colbrook on this one. Those models are currently out of production for an indefinite timeframe. There are still a decent number of Tohaa models in production via Spiral Corps, which can generally be used in either of the two armies. We may not like that things go out of production, but I don’t think it’s fair to say that CB’s statements have been unclear.
Year of the Tohaa. The fact that the missing factions, Tohaa among them, were slated for zero rules support in N4 and we had to push to get a promise of that support. The very fact that we do not know whether the missing factions will be ever remade, even on a long-term schedule. Yeah, there's quite a lot CB are unclear about on this topic.
I’m pretty sure that was a miscommunication, and they only ever said they weren’t going to be in the first wave. Which, sure, is still an example of a lack of clarity. But the subject was the physical manufacturing of models - to which I say, discontinued Tohaa models are discontinued. If/when they announce a rerelease, there will be one, but for now, the answer is very simple.
Well, poor communication from CB is the point. And the impulse for the protest was the fact that some fans reportedly heard at a Moscow convention, from HellLois I think, that those factions weren't coming to N4 at all. We can't know for sure if that was a miscommunication as well or as it seemed then that the original plan was to completely ditch those factions which were clearly addressed as "unsupported" at the time. The whole "first wave premiere of N4, 2nd wave end of November" was a clarification which came as a result of the forum protest against dumping the factions completely.
Not counting mercenaries, there are 14 of 33 units represented in current, in-production models. And Chaksa Longarms and Jaan Staar are likely incoming. There may be more, I counted any unit that I couldn’t remember as OOP, such as Aelis Keesan. That’s not nothing. Every unit in the Spiral Corps starter is a Tohaa-faction unit as well. To me, it sounds like the answer to a new player would be “About half the available units are currently in production. No one knows right now if or when the rest will go back into production, but you can probably find old stock online. In the meantime, the “official” proxy rules are pretty generous.”
Exactly, it's also pretty easy to find collections being sold out. There's only a few models which are hard to come by because they're OOP and weren't played in N3, like the Gorgos, which was one of the softest TAGs previous edition and is now greatly improved.
Aelis is in Dire Foes 5, not OOP. https://store.corvusbelli.com/wargames/infinity/miniatures/dire-foes-mission-pack-5-viral-outbreak
