Had a game yesterday after a long LONG time, went to do a classic Joan list and suddenly there are some new profiles i had no idea. So whats the deal with Wild Bill, John Hawkwood and Kendrat? Are they any good? do they have a role? Any other profile change that i have to be aware off? thanks
New Mercs! They're all sort of expensive! Kendrat is probably the one Vanilla PanO can benefit from the most. sort of just like another Krakot – depending on how you feel about those. I don't like Hawkwood. Then again I'm not really a fan of his unit template. Big expensive gunfighter/competent CC guy with big expensive weapons and skills. not my cup of tea. The CoC could be interesting? IMHO we have better gunfighters for cheaper. Wild Bill is.... okay? He's great in the sectorials he can link in! Once again, we have better, cheaper, gunfighters that synergize with the army better. These are some shooty mercs in the army that specializes in shooting. by nature they're going to play second fiddle. Uma Sorensen was added in the same update! not sure if you saw her or not.
More profile bloat in an already over-complicated game, if you ask me. There was a time I could count on at least having a good idea of what all my opponent's units do; that time has now past. The only thing keeping me playing these days is inertia - spent so much on models I feel an obligation to keep it up. Really hoping N4 clears some of this up. My totally unsolicited two cents.
@MikeTheScrivener Uma looks like a pointless, worst, more expensive Aida Swanson hahahahahahaha @yojamesbo it`s ok, more or less is why i left and went to play Guild Ball, but after a time without games (wedding and honeymoon) i`m trying to reconnect, who knows
She's a stinker alright.... congrats! On the topic of "too many mercs" I kind of agree that we're getting too many. so many at this point they're starting to overlap with not only units in Vanilla armies, but with one another aswell. I'd love to see them cleansed somehow, not necessarily squatted, perhaps just reduced with most of the characters getting thrown in NA2 armies.
Bill is this season's ITS prize so was added to all Vanilla human armies, I don't think he's really intended as a serious competitive choice outside a few sectorials (like most ITS prizes) Uma is the PanO character from Defiance, though she's the least impressive of the lot in terms of profile, I'm holding out hopes that there's something in N4 that makes her more interesting as her alternate model is fantastic. Kendrat and Falconboner are Defiance mercs, Kendrat seems to have been added everywhere Krakots are available (as she is one) and Eaglehardon is the leader of the White Company, who don't exist yet so he was added to PanO, YJ, and Aleph as they're his biggest clients IIRC.

Defiance is the Kickstarted Dungeon Crawler/Boardgame, part of the appeal is that it crosses over with Infinity. N4 was confirmed nearly 6 months ago at Gen Con, due in the second half of this year.
