People can call it anything they like as far as I care. When someone mentioned OS, OSS, Vedic, or OperationS I know what they're talking about. I'm partial to OSS (it rolls off the tongue better then the stiffer OS) and Vedic when I talk about them.
OSS or vedic, I even switch between the two in the same conversation. I have never personally heard it called OS.
