The Defiance came the closest to voodoo tech as far as we know. Thus I am posting in this forum. My question is, can any ideas be used in the roleplaying game without losing the flavour of infinity? Thus, I would like to ask for any and all infinity tech explanations. I will give the end result here, can any tech or process explain it? Some of this has sources mentioned. Voodoo Tech Results 1. When killed the being collapses into a pile of regenerative parts/goo, eventually repairing unless melted. (Kind of Tohaa isn’t it?) 2. The being can cause damage or immobilization through barriers and in a certain range (explain Aristeia! star TaoWu) 3. The dead can be reanimated (Tohaa zombie virus) and questioned (what is sepsitor?) 4. Mind reading. Or is it hacking? 5. Your idea here for a voodoo I missed
"Voodootech" is really just the Human Sphere's term EI/Ur Rationalist tech we don't understand (yet!). The two main examples are Plasma weapons which they're starting to reverse engineer, and Sepsitor, which they're not. Nanoscreens also probably count as Voodootech. Technically all the various 'drons (Uni, Ika, Xeo, Megalo, etc) and the aspects (Charontid, Avatar, Anathematic) are all pure Voodootech. The PanO Bøyg is described as using a Voodootech-derived neural interface that boosts the user's reaction time, which is why a Silhouette 5 suit can Dodge 3" on a 16 or less.
