When running a Cal Volunteer FT: Core with 3rd Grey, what is the recommended loadout for the Volunteers?

Also, what does Isobel bring to a Voulnteer FT other than the Hacking device.

E/maulers, d charges, and an assault pistol. If you team her with an HMG grey, then you have a b5 option with +3 or 0 range for practically any occasion. The other 3 volunteers are pretty much whatever you like, or need to bring for the mission, I don't tend to stick to any formula for them, though I almost never have the HMG in the same fireteam as a Grey since they do the same job better.

As I'm new to Fireteams, in order to use Isobel, she'd have to be the team leader if say...to hack into a console?

Yeah she'd be the team leader in any situation where you want her to accomplish an objective, but you get to choose the leader for every order, so you can use the grey to smoke up or recon by fire, move up to your objective, pop it with izzy then spend an order to cover the approachs to whatever model you want in the centre as team leader.
T2 izzy works great with the volunteers who have shotguns covering the short range, but giving up the assault pistol is something that makes it less obviously the best option IMO, in ARO the shotguns will be there either way, but in the active turn b3 19s from the shotguns or b5 18s from izzy... Of course if you want to build them as a close range death squad, then you take the rifle grey and use the twin shotguns to get the b5 auto hits and 18+ crits...

I look at her tw rifle as much A back up for when the grey dies. You then still have a b4 bs12 t2 rifke to lead the way and that thing can be terrifying. In terms of punch shes not much shy of a grey herself and getting her in the same link for cheap as chips is great.

In terms of mixing i love the grey t2 bs in a link that b3 crits on 18s t2 ammo is terrifying

Sometimes i put a medikit inside the link, for a specialist back and the posibility to heal someone (Don't expect it to be succesfull though)

Another volunteer goes usualy with the Grenade Launcher, but that's because i usually play against Onix, and they have alot of REM's, and REM's HATE speculatives, even going on 10's.

And a Chain rifle, for when the things goes too close (and for the cheap option)

Isobel is an autoinclude for me, i love the E/Maulers, is the only "Mine" option that we have on Caledonia, and goes extremely well for defensive duty's especialy against the big guys.

This this and this. If your oponent is half aware of the options you can bring, when you place down the camo token they become frantic. Because there is some fantastic mental game where players percieve Imm-2 and Isolated troops as a worse thing than an unconcious or dead model. So they start expending way more orders to either remove the mine safely or to move around it. In my experience it tends to brutalize LI lists.

    My Vol fireteam tends to be along the lines of one of the following;

Ranged Shooting: Grey AP:HMG, Vol HMG, Vol Paramedic, 2 x Vol CR.
-> Cos who can pass up B5 AP HMG rounds hitting on 19s?
-> The Vol with HMG is back-up for when the Grey dies, (mine always does), and the Paramedic is if I can/want to heal him.

Objectives: Grey T2:BSG, Vol HMG, 2 x Vol Paramedics, Vol CR.
-> The Grey with BSG is my go-to load-out for close-quarters work & he's cheap; sometimes I swap him for one of the Rifle load-outs though.
-> The HMG is just in case I need some long-range or high-burst shooting on the way in; e.g. if there's pesky MSV2s in the way that stop the Grey's smoke.

After that, I then add some extra Volunteers as replacements for when the fireteam starts dying.
