Greetings members of the State Empire,

Because of recent events I feel like it is time to throw my lot in with Yu Jing as I see making them great again a challenge. I got a good amount of minis second hand to begin my future faction force:

What should I get next with the above collection? I know that the new support pack, remotes & even the monks will be top choices but I also wonder what the rest of you would choose with my current standing? I was thinking of buying the Hac Tao duo blister (Hacker+HMG) as my next purchase.

Now I'm currently not looking to enter a sectorial yet. Though both ISS and the future Invincible Army is a possibility. That being said any tips on transferring from Vanilla to ISS is welcomed as the info will be of use to me in the future.

Well, apart from the poisonous drama, I quite like the YJ lineup.

So that said, I'd totally go for the beyond red veil box to grab the guilang and dao-fei, I think those are a really fun combo, the shaolin monks combo nicely with the Hsien, and if you like playing the HI game, I really think the Hac Tao with KHD is a stellar attack unit to push into the middle of the board and dare the enemy to dislodge.

Other than that, I don't think you can go wrong with a rui shi.

Welcome to the Asian Giant, good to have you here! The state army needs any help it can get to restore peace and stability throughout the sphere. This is our darkest hour as we have been attacked on all fronts and the other powers of the sphere crave to see our beautiful nation crumble. But I am confident that if we all pull together, we will prevail.

Sooooo in vanilla, I'd say the Guilang FO is kind of our best specialist. Id recommend picking up the blister or go with the beyond red veil minis. Daofei also is a beast and among the best infiltrators in the game (camo nerd here). The remote box is an obvious choice combined with the monks for cheap smoke.

    Have fun here!
    Cheers, Antares

My thoughts exactly. It is the main reason for coming over to Yu Jing since I like playing with these kind of odds.
I do as well. It is a shame about the thinning of the ranks so to speak but I know things will get better for you guys & gals.

Zuyong with HMG is our cheap rambo lt. You already have chain of command.

Oh. And Su Jian, the ultimate attack piece. You'll love him.

What about the AHD loadout? Also concerning the executive order do you or can you add another Lt. to the list besides the Hac Tao in order to make it work?

Another solid idea. I was thinking of painting the mecha-cat as a white tiger if/whenever I did get it.

You need another LT, but the hac tao with EO becomes LT the moment he appears, so usually you pick something you don't want to 'keep' the LT status.

As for the AHD, it isn't bad, but I prefer to run the KHD so enemy hackers have to think long and hard about if they want to try and lock him up, since he may blow their brains out in response, and it allows him to rambo and push buttons at the same time.

(I love the KHD Hac Tao. HMG Hac is fine too, but I normally use HMG Hsien)

I find HMG Hsien LT can sit in my backfield and shred the enemy up once I put up smoke, and then the Hac Tao can charge up into the objectives and lock them down, once in cover and suppressive fire, he's a monster to move.

Another fun setup is the Dao-Fei, 2 guilang (FO+Minelayer) to give the opponent a bear of a time figuring what you've strewn around the midfield.

@Fyeya Thanks for explaining how Executive Order works. I also see why you like the KHD now. What kind of list or lists do you normally run?

I like your statement to make YJ great again, that's a goal we share. (I just wish that 'again' word didn't have to be used... )

    OK.

To start with vanilla YJ: The Hac Tao blister is good. If you can find the older models (and don't mind the style mix), a Daofei Multirifle and a Hac Tao missile launcher are great fun. I should note that the Hac Tao ML is tiny, even compared to Zanshi. But the profile is excellent to have.

I'd buy the Guilang combirifle blister. Yes, it's a very old model. It's a bit frustrating to build because the arms are separate pieces and don't have solid "this way only" pegs. You will want some very slow-setting superglue to put that model together. But there's a reason that it hasn't been resculpted yet!

You will want the Zanshi SWC box.

You will also want a Zuyong HMG blister.

Remotes are always good to have. It's possible to magnetize the drones, with some patience, but even if you magnetize you will eventually want two boxes of the Yaokong basic REMs. You only get one of each weapon in each box. If you're not going to magnetize, I'd recommend building one Weibing (that's the combi+sensor+FO) and one Husong (total reaction HMG) from the first box.

I like big TAGs and I can not lie, so you should at least consider the Guijia. [ with apologies to Sir Mix-a-lot ]

The combat REMs, the Rui Shi and the Lu Duan, are good profiles. I personally don't like the models, so I bought the Nomad combat remotes instead. They look the part once you paint them YJ clay-orange instead of Nomad Red. But the profiles have MSV, which can be something you're short on. So you will want whichever factions combat remotes you like eventually.

Baggagebots can also be useful (note that a Zanshi hacker is 8pts cheaper than a Yaopu EVObot), but again, I don't like the models. So I bought the Haqq Kameel bots, and built one with the EVO bit and one plain. I'm starting to think that the better build is the Total Reaction combirifles, however (so, one EVObot and one TR combi).

You can get the Beyond Red Veil box if you have Haqq or someone to buy the Haqq off you (or get it from the split box sales). The Guilang sniper is good to have for your second Guilang model. Sure, it's only BS11, but it has MSV1 to ignore one BS mod. The Daofei HMG is honestly not my favorite profile, I prefer a hacker, but an infiltrating hacker really needs a killer hacker for protection. And killer hackers are the Red Veil only Tacbow Ninja or the Kanren (you will eventually want both, but that's a big purchase now).

Hold off on getting the Yu Jing Support Pack until it gets resculpted, unless you really like the old sculpts. The Engineer is particularly old, but with most of her face covered by that visor it's hard to tell.

This is rather representative of a YJ list for me. It's under points, but that's because I often ran big stuff like a Yan Huo that you don't have yet (you could stick a Hsien HMG in that slot pretty well). The core of it is actually the Daofei and the two Guilang. You put all 3 models and the mine out in the middle of the table, and let your opponent play YJ Roulette. One of those 4 camo markers will blow up in your face, two are squishy, and the last one is a 2W HI! Do ya feel lucky? Well, do ya?

When you want to build towards the Invincible Army, I'd get the Yan Huo. I suspect that the Yan Huo MultiHMG is going to be in the starter box.

    ====================

Now, for the Imperial Service (I'm not going to type the abbreviation until it's no longer the Identical to the SS sectorial :puke: ).

The only models you have so far that are Imperial Service are the two Hsien. So you have a longer way to go here. I'd get the starter box, and the Zhanying hacker.

You will also need the Aleph Support Pack for the Sophotect and helperbots. You can trade the 'lawn darts' to an Aleph player.

The Su Jian is made from pure awesome. Fast, hard-hitting, mobile (especially if your tables have a lot of 2story buildings). The Su Jian can also play in vanilla, and is an excellent Rambo piece.

From there, you can go Wu Ming Pain Train or lots of orders (or technically both, but that gets expensive fast). I'd add the Wu Ming box. Be advised that there have been two Wu Ming boxes, you probably want the newer one since the older models are much less bulky (and are visibly shorter).

If you want to go lots of orders, you need a Celestial Guard with the LGL and KSCD and at least one box of Kuang Shi. If you're going to run Kuang Shi in both combat groups, you will need one Celestial Guard KSCD per combat group. Points-wise, that's no big deal, because those TEN MODELS are only 66pts and 1SWC. But it is 2 boxes of Kuang Shi and IIRC 2 boxes of Celestial Guard support weapons, so it's a big purchase dollars-wise.

I haven't built an Imperial Service list in a long time, so I'm going to let the more recent players give list suggestions for you.

@Section9 With the new proxy rules, I usually don't mind using slightly wrong weapons, so stuff like the Daofei from BRV can work for most of the profiles, as the difference between an HMG or multi Rifle sculpt is pretty small - and the rules allow any proxy, I just prefer to have 'close'.

    Aaaaannnnnyway.

These are two lists I've been tinkering with for a Joint Ops event.

This one is based around using the Wu Ming data tracker for indirect grenado action on the HVT. This is less typical for me -

One thing that would be amazing would be if Zhanshi came down to 10 points so they don't cost more than fusiliers. (PAN-O cheaters)

That'd be a free yaozao (or more likely, an AHD) in most of my lists.

    Hey and welcome!

Some staples of yu Jing include the kuang Shi and the monks for sure. As well as remotes, as section9 says, don't feel limited to the yu Jing ones.

Guilangs are probably a must. And ninja are excellent, although kanren can serve a similar role in a pinch.

After that I've honestly had success with just about any of the heavy infantry except Shang ji, which isn't a big loss right now as they are also the only ones not resculpted at all.

So in summary a good core of kuang Shi/celestial/monks/remotea/Zhanshi backed up by a couple of forward deployment and maybe support units.

Then choose whatever beat sticks you like and apply liberally.

I really do hope they do that, and drop a point off the support troops at the same time. But it might be too good in combination with kuang Shi.

But I'd take kuang Shi going up a couple points (along with all warbands) to compensate

True. When it does have to be used then you are in a situation you shouldn't be in the first place.
That is a major draw for playing Yu Jing. You want at least one or two HI to toy around with in list building. Have you done something like this?

I have that feeling as well. It might be the SWC model for the starter pack.
Also thanks for the tips on the Imperial Service buying list. But the Pheasant Agent is another model I have that is in IS as well so I got 3 model start.
I always did like the look of the Guijia. Hope to pick it up someday.
@Fyeya Thank you for the lists. I'm getting ideas on what type of list to build.
That is good to hear. Makes expanding into other choices worth while.

Funny enough, I don't use Hac Tao a whole lot. The lack of infiltration kills it for me. So I'd probably make that a Hac Tao AHD and bounce it through repeaters. Or just go to big guns, HMG or ML.

Yeah, the lack of infiltration is a bummer, but I struggle to find a unit that can everything quite like a Hac Tao - I don't mind spending 2 orders moving a TO marker up the board, and if he's dumb enough to attempt discover, I can just blow his head off with a multi-rifle.

It becomes such an absolute brick once you dig it in, I had a player spend his entire turn (and the life of 2 muttis, and an al-fasid) to bring my hac tao to a null state, and this was after my hac-tao had killed his midfield specialists and the holoecho hassasin.

The Hac tao isn't necessarily points efficient, but it does distort the table in a way few minis can - apart from maybe a swiss guard, but the Hac Tao is better rounded, -1 bs, but much better CC, WIP, and the KHD gives hacking protection.

Also the Hac-Tao HMG model is just damn gorgeous.

Try hac tao ML combo'd with lunah for most Lols ever. Wait for your opponent to try discover lunah a couple times, then if they've got something juicy you spring out the ML.

If its not juicy, let them take on lunah and then assume they've cleared the threat over that lane >:D.

For me Hac tao are sweepers. The HMG can change the game state rapidly if timed well. The executive order is also a nice little addition to the Lt shenanigans yu jing can play (nomads eat your heart out).
