A new season of InfiNity Global League is starting and I'm mentoring someone interested in Nomads, who I don't pay against often.

What are your favorite profiles and loadouts? What roles/ jobs so those profiles fill?

Take with a grain of salt - haven't played Nomads since N3 and just getting back into them!

Carlota Kowalsky, Tomcat Sergeant: Any model with Parachutist (Dep.Zone) is worth considering. I like to pair it with a TR bot so she can come on, heal the bot, then attack as needed.

Jazz & Billie: Described as an autoinclude by a Nomad player I know. This is a cheap Hacker+ and if you want it, a cheap order that fills a similar role to a flash pulse/repeater remote.

Mary Problems: An elite hacker with built in pitcher and a bunch of non-hacking utility via -6 and forward deployment.

Moderators: My go-to LT option. Wish it didn't need to be, but not running an aggressive LT without chain of command

Puppetactica: Anything that can bring multiple bodies is worth a look. Way less hax than 3rd edition, but cheap, fast, scoring, fight decently well and a gigantic order sink to remove due to six effective wounds.

Hellcats: A premium budget AD option, insane if you are running an EVO hacker to get PH 18 deployment rolls.

Prowler: A scoring, camo/infiltrate spitfire is always worth considering.

    Cassandra Kusanagi: A scoring, -6, BS 14 2W spitfire.

Evaders: There is a 2W, scoring AP Spitfire profile that seems highly capable.

Riot Grrl: There is a discounted 2W, MSV1 Spitfire profile that is worth considering.

Zondnautica: A fast, smoke specialist with aggressive capabilities thanks to the AI motorcycle.

Guided Missile Remote: A lot of Nomad players complain that their army lacks in direct gunfighting. This thing seems to be the answer. If its too hard to kill with a spitfire, nuke it.

Krieza: premium gunfighter if you want to invest the points

Intruder: when I started in N2 this guy was a star, but people dont seem to rate him now. Not certain why. Through smoke he is very lethal, and still solid without it. Marker makes him hard to alpha which is a major drawback on many msv gun platforms.

Moran: A defensive skirmisher that packs a built in repeater. I see this run a lot in lists that use a GML.

Uberfallkommando: Probably the coolest unit in the entire game, furry-jokes aside. Good aggressive unit that brings eclipse smoke to fill a very useful niche. You can get so much shit done with this unit its incredible.

Zero: contender for best skirmisher in the game due to high utility and low cost

Jaguars: Cheap order, if not running moderators or remotes I default to these.

My must have in every list are :

Jazz & Billie : Very good hacker and a cheap order all in one package.

2x Moran : Infiltrator Specialist, minelayer and repeaters for less than 20 point, this boy is a must have. 2 Moran + Jazz gives you good hacking potential in every list.

Chimera and 2/3 pupnik : The best offensive unit we have. They are order intensive, but having a cheap unit that can kill everything in the game has no price.

This are my Core for every list than I start to add things basing on mission.

    • Carlota Kowalsky, Tomcat Sergeant
      • With Parachutist Dep. zone, she almost always scored quite nice kill scores, and also very useful for accomplishing missions.
    • Puppetactica Company
      • Counterintelligence is good, but the real gem is the resilience & penetrating capability of puppets. They don't have top tier guns, but AP Markman rifle checks out. Along with the buffs from Remracers, they perform magnificnetly.
    • Jazz & Billie
      • Top tier hacker and a nice repeater bot, cost 12 pts. per head. A no-brainer.
    • Moderators
      • Lt. option now costs 0 swc, and their WIP got boosted into 13. When it's not likely to suffer LOL, Mods are quite good.
    • Reaktion & Transductor Zonds
      • Almost auto includes. Combined with Jaguars with Panzerfaust, they form a nice gunline.
    • Szalamandra Squadron
      • Significantly discounted, from 90 to 72 pts. A prime grade heavy weapons guy.
    • Moran
      • Midline Repeaters, CrazyKoalas, and they've got FO. An auto include when you need to stop talking and do some hacking.
    • Zeros
      • Reliable skirmishers. Minelayer, Dep. Repeaters, Hacking Device, take your pick.
    • Jaguars
      • Panzerfaust now costs 0 swc. 4 Jaguars with those, dominating the corridors, make me feel really reassured.
    • Uberfalkommando
      • It's even more useful with modified Peripheral: (Sych). Kinda hard to achieve the maximum kill score, but they're unstoppable when the stars are aligned.

Man I'm glad someone likes this.

I bought one because it looks so sick, painted it up and ran it for an entire tournament... as soon as a target had mimetism it it would get flexed on so hard. Then I tried to repair it, failed, remembered no reroll without REMPRES and into the storage case it went.

Unlike a lot of other TAGs it's pilot is a typed specialist meaning it can gain mission bonuses and do some of the cards making more useful than a lot of other TAGs out there.

yes mimetism dumpsters it hard, but ideally you have a MSV gunfighter like knauf supporting it (or a cc missile like the uberfall, camo murder machine like the sombra or just drop a missile on it) to handle those targets while the Szalamandra guns down everything else.

Mimetism hits most of our top gunfighters hard (especially those that make an appearance in vanilla).

Sally's not well built to flush out camo, no visor and no positive short range mods means she's best used as longer range fire support especially until the mid field is de-cluttered a little bit.

Hrmcs are at +0 past 32 so you can use extreme range to bully your opponent. The flamer is primarily for defense, but can also lay down an intuitive attack on camo if you're desperate.

As stated the pilot is a typed specialist, a killer hacker. Now I don't advocate using the pilot as your primary anti hacking tool, it's too risky, she still can clear opposing hackers when you're desperate and order constrained. The combination of arm 8 and three structure is also useful for the specialist, yesterday I walked my Sally into some mines I couldn't risk moving squishier specialists into, tanked them and then hopped out to push buttons. (Also beware of HD, remember you can use the tag to body block lof as you jump out).

Set Sally up for success and she's pretty great.

I would like to add to the list

Riot grrl ml, especially if you have saturation zones used in play regularly. She's a good shot, and if you can leverage saturation can be oppressive.

Morlocks, I love them for smoke, and as cheap body guards for other units.

I want to second the humble Zero, excellent value, good choices for load outs.

I also like the swast red fury, especially in missions, he makes a decent Lt, and us useful in missions where you opponent is gunning for your Lt. Also if they reintroduce data trackers he was my go to data tracker in ITS.

I like camo/infiltration choices best myself:

Zeros have great and cheap profiles but are squishy. I like Minelayer and FO most

Intruder HMG is one of my favorite gunfighter when I use smoke

Hecklers are great to capture objectives in my own half. Love the jammer shenanigans.

Bandits are one of my favorites: great miniatures, great fluff, cool profiles. FO and Killer Hackers rock

Spektrs I use as Round 2+3 objective grabbers or, given the opportunity, kill enemy cheerleaders. I usually take the FO

Morans are great midfield blocker with their CrazyKoalas, plus they enhance repeater coverage or provide surprise shots. Every CombiRifle profile is great

Liberto Minelayer laying mines for blocking and then go aggressive with his Light Shotgun. 8pts....

Bran do Castro is expensive and really squishy. Dodges on 13, is able to do objectives. Put him prone on an roof out of sight in your opponents half and he will be a pain in the ass for your opponent.

Sombras are great Midfield fighters. I wouldn't take the red fury profile. Specialist, Hacker and Killer Hacker have better weapon ranges for midfield gunfights

    Prowlers - take Spektrs instead:face_with_rolling_eyes:

The Vostok FTO with EVO support, absolutely oppressive gunfighter that extend repeater coverage. Bully all the things.

Quick follow-up on this that I'm probably asking in the wrong place.
When is the booty chart rolled for a camo-d bandit?
It seems like it would be when the token is placed on the board during deployment but wouldn't that pretty clearly telegraph what's under the marker?

You are correct, this does reveal which token is a Bandit, but doesn't stop them being awesome!

The irregular order generally telegraphs them anyway. The bigger problem is that they can roll things they already have, and get nothing for it, which is kind of a downer compared to how awesome Scavenger was in N3 in terms of epic stories at least.

Do people not bring zoe and pi well? While I enjoy Jazz, I prefer to have an additional hacker as it divides the hacking burst from my enemy as well as rolling an extra dice for stopping enemy HI/Tags. I tend to avoid the interventor as they have the same exact hacking device. Additionally I tend to bring sally as my long range gun, so even though I can't reroll, I think an engineer is still good in a sally list. Is my thinking wrong or do people reach out for other hackers like mary problems?

Mary has probably 2 best upgrades you could think of, but Jazz stole the show ^^'
