Moving and combing a thread from the old forum. For a very long time (around two years) I couldn't decide how I want to paint my Yu jing force. In the beginning I wanted jade coloured force but the other schemes grew on me as well and I had a problem choosing one. Long story short, thanks top Infinity army painter and motivation from @Section9 I decided to finally paint some models and to pick a sinister, mainly black scheme. Jade coloured test model. Pondering about my army scheme I did some head swaps and conversions, mainly I fixed CB screw-ups (like sticking out swords or sliding miniatures with HRL). In the end used Gujia pilot as a test model for a new scheme. Last year I had this goal to paint at least one model per month but somehow I wasn't able to make it work (I did a lot of terrains though). Still this year I decided it's a high time to get my models painted. I used to be a part of the warseer community and there was a certain member who had a curious painting motivating method. I borrowed it and proposed it to my local infinity community in a fashion. So basically, there are 12 moths and each month you have to paint at least single declared miniature. If any of the participants fail to fulfil this goal, he has to buy one miniature blister to a random member (his choice) of the motivation group. Still, the goal is to have at least 12 painted miniatures at the end of the year, not to buy other people new miniatures ;) My january miniature - WIP Hsien. Still a lot of work. Personally I'm not a fan of strong contrasts but since I went for a dark scheme I want my minis to be visible on the table. I'll probably dull it a bit with washes and pigments in the end. Also I think I'll go for a jade cloak instead of a brown one.
Fixed pilot! And other fixes too! Great. You can always use a contrasting base. Color like the test jade - orange, or darkness - ligthness (clean white ship surfaces, probably lighter than the pilot one).
Cheers. I might try a bit lighter tones on the base. Still the pilot's top base topper is more or less like the grey I use on my gaming matt and terrains. I'll have to make some tests to try it
Fantastic work! Your putty work is fantastic, and I really like some of the resculpting you've achieved.
Thank you for your kind words. In the meantime I did the main colour on the cloak, finished hmg and painted some cloud freehands. 10 day to go, I should finish it on time :)
That green is fantastic. My only criticism is it strikes me as a bit odd having the weapon casing the same colour as the cloak. I feel like it might have been better as a point of contrast. Having said that, you've knocked it out of the park. Well done mate.
Thank you, really appreciated. I agree but since I like my miniatures monochromatic (well, more or less) I didn't want to add yet another colour to the pallet. I managed to finish my January pledge. In the end I'm still not happy about oranges but I've repainted over those parts like 5 times already (tried white, greys, NMM gold and oranges, glazes more oranges and more glazes). I just run out of time and had to press on to be able to finish on time. And my slowly growing YJ painted force :)
Thanks mate :) And here I present my February pledge - my count as warcore - Hina Usagi-chan, Mayanet's Idol. Because getting enemy soldiers flash pulsed by a little kid with bunny ears is the most evil thing I can think of :smilingimp:
Dude, that's just adding insult to injury! Trolltastic qualities of WarCors combined with that quirky look will result in hair pulled and curses cast. I sallute you!
Cheers guys. @maru To be honest I got the idea while browsing your log. It was neatly done Almost done with the February pledge. I just need to varnish Uha... I mean Hina-chan and paint her faithful aerocam drone Ker0-Ker0.
