Howdy, I've got a LI tournament coming up and I'd really really really like to run my USA to the show since they're very nicely painted but I'm having some trouble coming up with a list. I can't seem to come up with what feels like a competitive list capable of handling the multiple issues that can arise over a three game tourney. I know the praises of Vanilla have been heard far and wide but has anybody has success with US in a Limited Insertion setting? What works well? What themes should I be thinking of with a list? No models are off the table for construction but I'm trying to stick with just the US side of things. Here's what I've drafted out but I just don't love it. I don't think there's enough orders to feed Van Zant and the wolves. US and LI, hu? Well i played the list down below multible times as 11 Order version (with two 112 for the Marauder) and had good games with it. This LI variation should work as well even if i'm gonna miss the Doctors. (7) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army I would go with something like this. Marauders are so good in season 10 they are almost a must take. Blackjacks are also solid way of getting yourself more points down. The issue you will run into is SWC as all the expensive options outside of the characters require it. The AP HMG LT MM is a decent choice because of the discount and the fact that AP HMG are great. MM on the whole are so much worse than Marauders it is really only worth taking one. UKR COC is worth it here to let you play agreessive with the LT and hopefully pick up a weapon with the ranger. Lastly is a dog for fun, but you might want to swap him out for the AP Rifle MM, which is probably the only other worthwhile profile for MM.
When I play LI with USARF I use as core list 3 BJ Sniper T2. I call 'em The Walking Wall. The rest depends on the mision, marauder/minutemen core and 2 extras.
Thanks for all the feedback guys! It's really helped with coming up with effective strategies to effectively spend the points. Turns out this tourney is also allowing soldiers of fortune. Any recommended mercs to help fill gaps for Quadrant control, annihilation, and supplies? I was thinking some type of strong ARO piece, or a close combat infiltrator/specialist role.
Yeah it's some halloween inspired tournament so the rules have some slightly tweaked bits but essentially I'm playing three missions: Rescue (except the civillians are zombies that run at you and must be killed in melee) Supplies Quadrant Control ITS 10 with soldiers of fortune allowed.
