Datatracker choice is absolutely vital in Unmasking, as they're worth potentially 3 OP (2 for killing the Target, 1 for staying alive). Therefore you should have a plan to kill your enemy's datatracker and a way to protect your own. The Su-Jian comes highly recommended in this mission, though I'm also a fan of the Wu Ming MULTI Rifle + LGL. Who are you planning to make your Datatracker in each list, how do you plan to keep them safe, and how do you plan to get them to the enemy Designated Target?
A good point, I had forgotten about the data-tracker. I don't have a su-jian (limited model count still) but the plan was originally to drop in the Tiger soldier to take out the target once my infiltrators pushed enough buttons. My initial thought was to put it on the kanren or the Hsien, I'm not sure what other units are available who would share durability and firepower, or forward deployment without being in marker state. I'm tempted to try and put it on someone with an indirect firing weapon, like a grenade launcher, so I could just use an FO to target the HVT and then speculative fire at them, since I don't have the speed.
That's why I like the Wu Ming LGL quite a bit for this mission - it's BS13, hearty, and can do its job from Total Cover. If you have limited availability I doubt anyone would mind using the Zuyong MULTI rifle as a proxy. Try that out and see if it works for you.
Awww, man. I wish there was some way to fit smoke into your second list. A Hsien and smoke go SO well together. Not sure you need both a Ninja Hacker and Kanren hacker. Maybe drop one and add a Celestial Guard w/ smoke LGL. I'd proxy the Hsien as holding an HMG just because you have the spare SWC.
I have some concerns about the low SWC used in your second list. Do you not have either a Hsien HMG or a Zuyong HMG (or both?)? But I haven't played any of the Datatracker missions, so I'm otherwise withholding judgement.
So after feedback, I'm looking at something like this, with the wu-ming datatracker, 2 forward deploying specialists to push consoles, and the Hsien+smoke basic tactic. Can't figure out what to do with the last few points though.
