I have been analysing the units and their costs with an idea came to my mind a time ago. Stat/Skill usage probability. I realised that the units that we like to field and assume that they are cost effective are not cause of their abilities but the probability of using their abilities is higher than other units in the game. Let me give you some examples. Irmandinho. we like him alot. It is because we are using every atom and stat of this unit. 4-4 movement/ impetious . We always use. %100 percent. bs 10, we never use on chainrifle profile, so we dont care. ph 14 and smoke , we use every single game more than several times. chain rifle, most of the time we use. booty : sometimes it really helps. cc21. sometimes we use and it is better with dcharge too. wip 13,engineer . we always use. because they are in the team to push the buttons. we give 8 points and we use every penny of it in every game. Thamyris Now lets check this unit. 4-4 movement . Most of the time we use. but there are times we dont even move him. bs12 . most of the time, wont be used with assault pistol. maybe some times with pitcher. ph12. most of the time we wont be using this stat. wip 14 . can be used frequently with hacker ability. but we cant guarantee it in every single game. zero pain upgrade. most of the time, we wont be using it. nowound inc. maybe we can use. but not in every single game. arm/ bts. well maybe. flash pulse +1 burst, journalist,pulzar. i dont say that they are useless. but not most of the time. when you make such an analyse you will see that you are using every penny you spend for the troops you like to field. You are paying for but using most of the abilities that troops have. fiday with mines , kuangshi , netrod, posthuman mk1 and mk2 , moran, makaul, sukeul, chasseur minelayer are some examples. I write this not to critic anything but it really made me to evaluate troops better. In any troop that you need to force, move and try to damage your opponent abilities like nwi,mimetism,cc20 and up,extra wound,better bs,quality weapons,better burst etc are becoming more valuable essets but in troops that you will not use in attacking they become needless taxes to increase your army points instead. moran is giving a difficulty for opponents' movement in every single game. You use fidays' every penny. have a look at zuleyka and penthesilia. It is one of the nice examples of this evaluation method. zuleyka is 11 pts cost and penny is 37 pts.
I think I know what you mean with Zuleyka vs Penthisilea, but I'd say my experience facing them have been the reverse of what I think your evaluation is - but there is one more factor here; points risked versus return on investment. Even though I've so far not seen Zuleyka do anything that a Muttah can't do better and even though the... three?... times I've faced Penthisilea she's had a high % use of her abilities; but Zuleyka not accomplishing more than a smoke grenade isn't the same as Penthisilea managing to die after spending 7+ orders killing only an order mook or two. Basically 25+ point models risks having poor ROI due to high investment compared to success chances Irregular models risks having poor ROI due to taking up space
