Probably thinking this too literally, but just to be sure... CASE1. A non-unconscious Dakini Tacbot is attacked which causes a single ARM roll. The ARM roll fails. 1.1 Does the trooper suffer a guts roll? 1.2 Can the trooper pass it automatically using V:Courage*? 1.3 If the guts roll fails, must the trooper move, if it improves their cover? CASE2. An unconscious-1 Dakini Tacbot is attacked which causes two ARM rolls. One roll fails and the other passes. 2.1 Does the trooper suffer a guts roll? 2.2 Can the trooper pass it automatically using V:Courage? 2.3 If the guts roll fails, must the trooper move, if it improves their cover? * Trooper with Remote Presence gains V:Courage
No guts roll is caused. "Failing one or more ARM or BTS Rolls, but not remaining in a Null or Immobilized state." I know it's not actually formatted properly but the "but not remaining in a Null or IMM state" applies to all possible reasons for triggering Guts. So an Unc trooper, with or without Courage, that is shot by a BS Attack and saves all the DAM doesn't trigger a Guts check. have a Guts check triggered.
N3 Frequently Asked Question FAQ Version: 1.1 Q: How does the Guts Roll work if the trooper that triggered it falls Unconscious in that Order? A: Apply the Guts rule normally. Related Pages: Guts Roll, Unconscious So the real answer for this question is "Guts roll requirements aren't fulfilled, because trooper is Unconcious"?
That FAQ refers to the attacking trooper as the Trooper who triggers Guts; I'm referring to the Trooper on whom Guts is triggered. See my edit of my original post for clarification.
This FAQ is for the following situation: Alphonse and Barthomley both fire chain rifles at each other. A passes his ARM roll, B does not and falls Unconscious A still needs to make a Guts roll, even though his Attacker (B) is now in a null state.
