I've been tinkering with a Bolt fireteam list and I'm interested in getting feedback on it: Ozzforce ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 AQUILA Lieutenant MULTI Rifle / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0 | 58) SWISS GUARD HMG / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 68) BOLT Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun, Drop Bears / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) BOLT Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24) BOLT Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19) BOLT Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 24) BOLT MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 26) BOLT Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun, Drop Bears / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) CSU (Specialist Operative) Breaker Combi Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) TRAUMA-DOC Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) 5 SWC | 298 PointsOpen in Infinity Army My thinking is I can keep the Aquila hanging back in defense and send him out hunting if I see a good opportunity, kill snipers with the Swiss Guard, and have the Bolts be an all-range threat. The sixth Bolt and the CSU would hang around the link team and cover them with suppressive fire probably.
If you're going that way, the Bolt Hacker is IMO a better specialist for the link and I'd drop the 6th bolt in favour of a Machinist and some palbots.
I think I'd go that way: Ozzforce ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 AQUILA Lieutenant MULTI Rifle / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0 | 58) SWISS GUARD Missile Launcher, Light Shotgun / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 69) BOLT Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 24) BOLT Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun, Drop Bears / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) BOLT Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun, Drop Bears / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) BOLT Hacker (Hacking Device) Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27) BOLT Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19) SIERRA DRONBOT HMG / Electric Pulse. (1 | 25) CSU (Specialist Operative) Rifle + Light Shotgun, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) MACHINIST Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) 5 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army Aquila Lt. is your opening gambit; you can play with him fairly aggressively, knowing that after losing him you'll still have five Regular orders to operate. Bolt team should be prepared to contest the midfield; no reason to keep a sniper in there, unless you really feel like you need additional long range punch. Defense should focus on Sierra and ML Swiss (a nasty trick is to deploy Swiss in such way, that you can reveal him and shoot when enemy moves in to attack Sierra; in this way enemy unit will have to deal with two nasty AROs, potentially making him split fire). With his Light Shotgun Swiss can also double as an additional midfield contestant. Drop Bears round up the defense. Alternatively: Ozzforce ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 AQUILA Lieutenant MULTI Rifle / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0 | 58) BOLT Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 24) BOLT Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun, Drop Bears / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) BOLT Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun, Drop Bears / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) BOLT Hacker (Hacking Device) Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27) BOLT Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19) HEXA MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 32) BLACK FRIAR MULTI Sniper, Nanopulser / Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 30) SIERRA DRONBOT HMG / Electric Pulse. (1 | 25) TRAUMA-DOC Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) GROUP 2 1 GARUDA Tacbot Boarding Shotgun / Electric Pulse. (0 | 21) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army
@Stiopa The person I play against most often plays Tohaa, so I'd be worried about the Swiss getting her LoF blocked by eclipse smoke incidentally
What's the deal here, can your opponent take away 2 of your orders, if you have 2 combat groups, but only 1 of them is open info? Against Tohaa there isn't much point in bringing the Aquilla, there's no camo spam, only a small amount of troops with CH or ODD, and they aren't even the main pieces. I'd also suggest going for 14-16 orders, that would make your life easier. Just more forgiving on losses.
Yeah, the number of groups is open info. I still often feel like having some hidden aces is worth it. @HeckMeiser: Got it. Still, Tohaa would not like EXP missile to the face.
What about this: Ozzforce ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 AUXILIA Lieutenant Combi Rifle + AUXBOT_1 / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 14) AUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) SWISS GUARD HMG / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 68) BLACK FRIAR (Albedo, Biometric Visor L1) MULTI Rifle, Nanopulser, Drop Bears / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 28) BOLT Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun, Drop Bears / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) BOLT Combi Rifle + Light Shotgun, Drop Bears / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) BOLT Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19) BOLT Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 24) BOLT Hacker (Hacking Device) Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 27) TRAUMA-DOC Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) PALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) GROUP 2 4 CSU (Specialist Operative) Rifle + Light Shotgun, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) CSU Breaker Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) AUXILIA Combi Rifle + AUXBOT_1 / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) AUXBOT_1 Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (- | 4) MACHINIST Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) 5 SWC | 300 PointsOpen in Infinity Army Or maybe replace the second auxilia with a fusilier and the replace the black friar with a locust or sierra
If you're expecting MSV troops then Friar is a good investment. Even with his 4-2 MOV you can advance into midfield ignoring MSV AROs, and then open fire from your effective range. Second Auxilia is a good investment, the more Auxbots the better.
