I'll play a tournament next Sunday with MO as it is my choice for the french satellite tournament and Transmission Matrix is the first of them. How do you handle it? Knights for the win and trust BTS and Stealth? Or go full Order sergeants + KotHS for hidding Crusaders and TOFOOS?

    Ooh. Challenging.

A lot will depend on luck. Some players play Transmission Matrix by going very heavy on Hacking. Other players approach that scenario by using no Hacking at all. You'll want to hope you get the second type of player.

But let's discuss if you play the challenging variant, with an enemy who brings a lot of Hacking.

It will be a challenge if you take lots of Knights, of course. Stealth will help you. Supportware would be obvious, except that activating supportware makes your Hackers vulnerable to Hacking AROs. You might consider taking the EVO, just because its can be repaired so easily, and simply throw an Order at supportware every round and then use a Machinist to pick it back up afterwards. But whether or not you want to spend 2 Orders per turn that way is totally up to you.

Ultimately the safest choice is probably to build a list with lots of Specialist Sergeants. Sniper and FO Spec Sergeants don't care about Hackers, can hide safely in Marker state, and cost enough points to safely hold or contest the different zones on the table. Father Knights aren't bad either with their ultra-high BTS, though obviously you'll still be facing a risk. If you can find and kill any enemy Assault Hackers though, MO is actually very good at this mission because it's really about aggressive attack and defense.

Ok, that might be a semi-good mission for KotHS. It's "sudo" marker state (it's a marker state but you can still be directly attacked) allows for some sudo safe (coupled with stealth from MA) movement inside repeater range, you should be able to advance into scoring area even when directly opposed. What I'm saying he's safest option to get past repaters and kill whatever he wishes and only advance into scoring area when you have holoechoes up thus giving enemy hackers quite a challange of chosing right target to hack.

Also both TO Order Sergeants are great use in this mission, allow enemy to waste points of trying to discover+kill them and most of time just deploy them somewhere hard to get, you are quite likely to "outpoint" most of the things (even humble TOFOOS are 27 pts).

Yeah, I was thinking this too.
I won't developp anything about the list yet as I know Savnock read the forum and will be present in the tournament too (nothing against you, but I prefer leaving you the surprise) and revealing a list I prepare for a Satellite Tournament doesn't seem to me to be the good thing to do if I plan to grab the first place (I can still dream ).

What we though with my brother, for the challenging match up, was to avoid to play even one Hacker and just rely on BTS, Stealth, luck, battlefield and the Machinist. As long as the Machinist will be alive, he will be able to repair the isolated state that is so powerful against the HI links (and I remember now that there is Exile for CA that is a problèm for all links in this scenario too) and will cripple me. But as long as there is a non KHD in the ennemy team, I'll have to avoid to constest the antennas with something hackable.
The worst comes if there is a SML in addition to kill even non hackable troops. Don't discard this possibility, I ran a NCA list inspired by the Remotes list Admiral JCJF proposed in the former forum after HSN3 shown up and it was a devastating strategy as I could kill anyone in the opposite team who wanted to occupy any zone with no risk. And even if there was a KHD in the opposite team, I was running 2 HD, 1 EVO HD, 1 AHD and 1 KHD so good luck to kill them all in active or reactive turn.

In fact, I'm glad there is no NCA player in this tournament because it would be a tough game against this kind of list with about 80% of the table covered by hackers. And Nomads and Yu-Jing players I know aren't really fond of remotes heavy lists.

In the end, with this possibility and the fragility MO has against hacking (no KHD and good AHDs are really costly), the only solution I can see so far is to cripple the opposite team fast enough to give me the possibility to occupy the antennas the second and the last turn. Since Retreat doesn't stop this scenario, it isn't a problem. This and rely on TO OS to mitigate the impact of my opponent's SKs.

This is why my brother and I had asked here: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/holoprojector-l3-and-odd-who-said-patrocle.828/ about Holoprojector L2+ about what is copied and what is not. You seem to say that Stealth given by MA is copied by holoechoes but nothing is said about it in HSN3, nor about to copy the Hackable trait. As some says that ODD isn't replicated by Holoprojector L3, I don't see why Stealth or Hackable should be.
Because of this, I was first thinking about trolling my opponent by disguising the KotHS in some spare OS for the OS link I would play to just hide a Crusader and a TO OS or two, but didn't plan to use him actively.

I want to remind you, you are playing mere MO not a full blown Steel Phallus so no special rules for you.

Holoechoes do get "stealth" but the fact that model is hackable retains, as soon as you move into repeater/hacker ZoC you have to inform opponent which programs are valid for this unit (so even if you go 2nd and disguise as 3 Fusiliers in repeater ZoC you have to tell opponent that those fusiliers are hackable by AHD).

Yes, thank you, I know. But the problem is the same. IJW said there was nothing said in the rules that Holoechoes get any skill or piece of equipement the Holo bearer has nor trait. So, according to him, KotHS holoechoes don't get Hackable trait and Stealth.
I will resurrect the post today as my brother and I didn't finish with it. Christmas came and we wanted to have some fun days without brainstorming about how bad the rules of Holoechoes is inaccurate.

Strange, I'm almost sure that was IJW who told me that KotHS cannot pretend that they are LI within ZoC of repeater (and must immiedetly say that they are HI) ...

(but that was pre HSN3, although I don't think anything had changed in the meantime)

To be sure about what I'm saying: I'm talking about the two decoys which come with the KotHS in Holoecho state. KotHS is still hackable and has Stealth even in Holoecho state. The problem is about the behaviour of those two decoys. Are they Hackable too? Do they have stealth too? If not because it is not written in the book, well, what do they really have, except a location and the fact that they are activated with their creator and so generate AROs. It isn't even said that they can move as it isn't said they have a MOV value at all and which one it is.

I really like playing Transmission matrix with a full hospitaler link with Joan and De Fersen. if you play an opponent that doesn't have any hackers you can move round like normal and kill stuff. If they do have hackers, move the link into the ZoC of one of the repeater nets but don't use stealth on one of the hospitalers. this generates an ARO and they would have to declare a hacking attack against the hospitaler. Then De fersen can use his hacking to effect if they are in repeater range. If they decide not to do anything keep moving so you are out of repeater range. Also as defersen has two wounds, if the opponent onyl has one hacker that can cause wounds make De Fersen viable and use a burst three trinity attack to take them out. Just make sure you have an engineer around.

This is still hotly debated mechanic and I'm not sure if it is deemed legal.
