How should this interaction be played? Stun Ammo doesn't make targets make ARM or Guts rolls, is the intent that troopers with Total Immunity be unaffected by hits with Stun Ammo? I understand it's relict rules from N2, trying to figure out the interaction.
Total Immunity no longer affects Stun ammo. The reference in the Total Immunity effects is to the old Campaign Paradiso version that no longer exists (and should really be removed).
Is there any reason for an ammo type to be labelled as Exotic instead of Standard other than to make sure that Total Immunity can't ignore it? Stun now makes you do BTS and Guts rolls, so you could argue that Total Immunity was supposed to make you immune to Stun ammo (and shouldn't have been exotic), or that it only makes you immune to the Guts roll following being Stunned, or that you should be totally vulnerable to it (and that line should be removed).
There is a line in Total Immunity explicitly addressing Stun, separate from the "ignores Standard ammo" part. The problem being that the line talks about ARM instead of BTS saves, so it is obviously out of date.
Total Immunity clearly should not have mentioned expansion book ammo types by name. T2 and Stun now both cause confusion. But I would say that as an exotic ammo, Stun ignores Total Immunity and has its normal effects.
We don't need IJW. We need someone from CB to make an offcial FaQ (actually an Errata, but they call everything a FaQ) on this outdated rule. Which they wont do, because they don't think people reads the FaQs? I guess? Didn't Bostria say something like that? That noone reads the FaQs so they don't bother with them anymore? I may very possibly be misremembering.
I'm aware. although stun is exotic, there is a seemingly outdated and slightly confusing clause under Immunity: Total.
